Hi , I have bought my first Cleveland and I have some questions. It is a 351 from a 1986 Bronco, at top dead the pistons are 0. 35 thou below deck height is this normal? Also it has open chamber 2V heads what compression would it have? thanks Bob
Yes it is common to find the pistons down about .30 from top dead. Compression would be 8.9:1 stock mate but pays to check some are really down on comp and still run quite well
nicei have 71 ranchero with a 351 but it needs rebuilt im restoring my 70 ranchero but its got a 250 ci 4.1 inline 6 lol definitely missing my 351 it had the 2v heads but i put hooker headers on it with flowmasters which made it sound super nice anyways i'm thinking about rebuilding the motor but i've never done it before
I always thought 351 C's were the best looking small block or whatever it's classified as. Dig those cool valve covers. Great engines!
