main deck: 4 blood fountain 4 thithing blade 2 cuombajj witches 4 _dauthi slayer_ 2 _faceless butcher_ 4 gray merchant of asphodel 2 thorn of the black rose 2 _twisted abomination_ 2 _pestilence_ 4 _stab wound_ 3 dark ritual 1 _darkness_ 4 deadly dispute 2 chainer's edict 4 bojuka bog 2 witch's cottage 14 swamps sideboard: 2 cuombajj witches 2 pestilence 3 darkness 4 snuff out 4 duress This deck is essentially like other mono black control decks except, instead of accruing value by protecting monarch or the initiative, you drain out your opponents life points with dauthi slayer, stab wound, cuombajj witches, and pestilence damage. Not that we mind having the monarch. All of these drain effects are permanents that stick and contribute to black devotion. Faceless butcher can help control the board, but they can also exile gray merchant, and then reintroduce them to the battlefield when they die, often to your own deadly dispute or chainer's edict. Darkness frees up a round of bleed effects on the opponent, keeps monarch up for a turn, and is just a really clutch card in any matchup where you have to race your opponent. It's here because you're in it for the long haul, and finding the right time to play it can win you the game. Ideas for twists on this: Exhume in place of faceless butcher, another dark ritual, and 4 twisted abominations or the typical trolls to make that another win condition. 4 pestilence mainboard, but no 2 toughness dauthi slayer, so that you can pestilence 2 every turn more easily. Midnight recovery and fleshbag marauder. Midnight Recovery on dauthi slayer gets you fleshbag murauder from your graveyard every turn and that's just great. I'd say you don't _have_ to play my janky brew, but I am the only one here, so I guess I have the most likes 😛

I made a version of the Treasure deck with -2 Reck bargain(least efficient draw spell in the deck) and +2 Unearth(to deal with heavy removal decks). Won the local league :) What are your thought about these changes and the sideboard I modify: - 2 weather the storm +2 Duress(glitter and combo deck counter, can buy also time with monored) -1 blade -1 Pyroblast +2 Terminate(to deal with guildpact and be more removal efficient if needed) -2 lighting bolt +2 Nihil spellbomb(no graveyard hate can be dangerous) Thanks in advance. The deck was a blast to play and very unexpected to top the local league!
Awesome to hear that, congrats! I think it depends on the meta in regards to Sideboard. Realistically, you would only need graveyard hate against combo decks or Golgari dredge. As far as Unearth, I tried it instead of Blood Fountain, but the latter had better synergy doing about the same 😅. I also loved the bargain life part. Lightning bolts were specifically against mono red to stop the swiftspear starts but since it's gone, you can dispose of it 😅.
Do you think the Monoblack Version is better than Golgari Gardens? I really like Dark Ritual into Initiative or Monarch, but Khalni Garden and Avenging Hunter are strong cards
@@davidroyale14 bro the maximum lifegain you get in this deck is 2 life. And most likely, you will hit one mana creature or simple artifact. Do you think is it worth the extra cost while having one drop draw x2 at disposal and 8 other cards that put artifacts in play with the same effect?

What about thoughtcast or village rite instead of reck. bargain for the treasure storm deck? I feel they can be more efficient.

The black deck has too few creatures. Running the torch put you in a disadvantage when opponent is heavy on removal.
That's why you run tons of it. Same concept as golgari gardens, around the same number of creatures, Removal, etc.
