That's what makes Country Music, it comes from the heart and has true meaning. I absolutely love this song and especially Lorrie Morgan's cover of it. You can feel the emotion she puts into it. Having lost my first Wife in 2010 songs like this one and Vern Gosden Chisled in Stone just has much more meaning to them.
I lost my husband 12-22-21 and it's tough...however he loved Lorrie and right before he got sick, the sick that took his life, I had gotten tickets to her concert....once there, I showed him that I had backstage passes and he got to meet her!! We got a picture with his arm around her!!! That picture and the huge smile on that Police Chiefs face is all I really have left.... but it makes me happy to see how excited he was to meet her and take a picture ❤ beautiful lady
I truly miss real Country Music. With the unique sounds of the beautiful peddle steel, the Fiddle, the Banjo, and when you hear the music you know exactly who is singing. Thank goodness for cds and CZcams so you can still hear great Country Music. This song always makes my eyes flow like a river. Truly beautiful.
I doubt we can ever hear the great country music again. Not in my lifetime. What we have today is PoP music.....masqueraded as Country. I tuned in one time and could not believe how many of the male singers all sound alike..... the majority.

I lost both of my daughters who were 21 and 23 in a terrible accident. My daughter 23 yr old bought this cd with a picture of me without you because she liked the song so much. Everytime I hear this tears roll down my cheeks.
My mom died in 1992 from cancer and she loved this song so much she asked us to play it for her at her funeral and she got what she asked for. I loved it then and it still bring tears to me now all these years later. Lorrie Morgan is and was great

This is a song of grief and love that was written from someone's broken heart. Every time I hear it I think of the loss of my seven-year-old grandson. Leukemia took him slowly and very painfully. Now he is pain free. The loss of him will end for all of us one day who loved him. Can't wait to see him again. We are certainly loving him longer and missing him longer than we knew him.

I can't imagine that it will ever stop feeling so Raw, so Fathomless....Had I not been an AA Member, and truly understood one day at a time, (and I am still sober, April 1, 1986, which I could only maintain for him, as he struggled so with alcohol) I couldn't face each day. It will be a while before I can listen to this song, especially her version (I can hear George's in my head). Condolences, love and prayers.

I lost my Papaw at the age of 10 back in 2007. One of my key memories as a child was singing this song with him. I don’t remember much else from my childhood cause loosing him traumatized me but It was our song. Miss him every day and sing this song to my kiddos now 💔❤️
I was a kid in southern Indiana in the early 90s and I can remember sitting in the backseat of our Ford Tempo and my mom playing this song and singing with it over & over. I look back and realize it was just before my parents divorced. Music defines so much of our lives, and eventually, you're old enough and all the lyrics make perfect sense.

I miss real(older)country music too. I listen to it. And it takes me back to some of the best times when my sister and I loved each other more than anyone. We had some sad, strong, life changing times. Memories we’ll never forget. My sister may have drifted away from me, but we still have these memories and moments. That will be forever in my heart. We were always there for each other. Lorrie was always on our fave playlist.

Truly one of the greatest of her generation! I have been her fan since her first album and still get excited when I hear her music to this day! She was a page turner for Country music and women. She made it OK to be absolutely stunning and gorgeous and dress sexy and still was celebrated for her craft and omg what a incredible voice this woman has still! I've watched many interviews that Lorrie has done and she is as grounded as can be. Tons of frigging cool stories from her childhood growing up in the Grand Old Opry. Lorrie is definitely one of my female musicians heroes because of her incredible strength. Absolutely adore her!

When my daughter was about 4 years old, she loved listening to Lorrie and could sing a few of her songs dang near perfectly. This particular one, she would throw her little head back and belt it out. She is 34 now, still has the huge beautiful blue eyes, and can still belt it out. Loved it as a single dad and love it now. .

I lost my husband 12-22-21 and it's tough...however he loved Lorrie and right before he got sick, the sick that took his life, I had gotten tickets to her concert....once there, I showed him that I had backstage passes and he got to meet her!! We got a picture with his arm around her!!! That picture and the huge smile on that Police Chiefs face is all I really have left.... but it makes me happy to see how excited he was to meet her and take a picture ❤ beautiful lady

Thank goodness for cds and CZcams so you can still hear great Country Music. This song always makes my eyes flow like a river. Truly beautiful.

This is a song of grief and love that was written from someone's broken heart. Every time I hear it I think of the loss of my seven-year-old grandson. Leukemia took him slowly and very painfully. Now he is pain free. The loss of him will end for all of us one day who loved him. Can't wait to see him again. We are certainly loving him longer and missing him longer than we knew him.

Thankful for our 33 years together, but miss him more than I could have ever imagined possible. It would have been our 39th anniversary in January 2022, our 40th Christmas together this year. This song captures a glimpse of the full truth.
(((((hugs))))) I lost my husband, soul mate, December 31, 2020. He just made our 35th wedding anniversary December 13, and our "meeting" date December 24, 1981. I can't imagine that it will ever stop feeling so Raw, so Fathomless....Had I not been an AA Member, and truly understood one day at a time, (and I am still sober, April 1, 1986, which I could only maintain for him, as he struggled so with alcohol) I couldn't face each day. It will be a while before I can listen to this song, especially her version (I can hear George's in my head). Condolences, love and prayers.

LIKE PEOPLE ALWAYS DID! THE STUDENT SHE SAVED WAS SO DISTRAUGHT AT THE FUNERAL SHE COULDN'T TALK!! FYI; THE INTEL THE FA.ILY WAS SOOO GOOD, THATS HOW THEY GOT HER & SOOO MANY OTHERS!! I DIDNT GET TO TALK TO THEM, MY SON DID!! I THINK BAK!! THE FAMILY KNEW THE CARTEL WOUD EXERT REVENGE ON KIM!! UT, I DON'T BELIEVE KIM EXPECTED THE RAID TO B THAT BIG!! BECAUS SHE HAD BEN GIVEN THE INTEL, SHE WAS THE ONE THAT WAS TARGETED BY THE CARTEL!! BUT, I TRIED TO STOP HER AS THAT DISTRICT N OAKLAND IS/WAS 1 OF THE WORST N COUNTRY! BUT, SHE JUST WANTED TO SAVE THAT 13 YR OLD, PRETTY HISPANIC GIRL!! I KNEW SHE WOULDN'T LET GO!! 11/2 YR LATER HER BEST FRIEND, HER YOUNGER BROTHER, WAS SOOO DEVESTATED AS WE KNEW THEY KILLED HER, & EVEN SET UP A GO-FUND ME ACCT.BY THE LT & SCUM FRIEND, WE GOT VERY, VERY LITTLE FROM IT! I PAID 4 THE FUNERAL, THO WE STRUGGLED 4 MONEY, & GOT SOM OF IT BAK! TO THIS DAY, I DON'T KNO HOW MUCH WAS GIVEN TO KIM' ("FAMILY'")!I IT WENT TO OTHERS, ALTHO I WAS KIM'S. MOHER & BENEFICIARY!! WITH ALL THIS, KIM'S CLOSE BEST FRIEND, & MY YOUNGEST SON, WAS SOOO A GRY & DEVESTATED.., @ 37 HE STOOD N FRONT OF A TRAIN GOING 80 MPH!! I'M DISABLED, 1 MONTH AFTER MY SON DIED I LOST MY HOME, & MY MOM, DAD, & BROTHER DIED WITHIN 6 YRS! I WAS HOMELESS SLEEPING N MY CAR, & AT ALMOST 80 YRS OLD, ALL MY SUPPORT SYSTEM IS GONE!! ALL BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER WAS A GOOD, HONEST PERSON!! AND, HER DEATH WAS PREMEDITED MURDER, NOT THE FAKE ACCIDENT THAT WAS PLANNED BY THE MOST DISGUSTING MONSTERS IN R SOCIETY!! THE CARTELS & CORRUPT POLICE!! THAT'S WHY EVERYONE DENIED ME TO "C MY DAUGHTER!") ALL I WANTED WAS TO C HER HAND & HER TATOO ON IT!! BUT, I THEY HAD ALREDY CUT HER UP WITH AUTOPSY, & THE LT. TOLD ME STANDING N MY HOUSE THAT I HAD TO "GET HER REMATED & OUT OF CORONER'S OFFICE WITHIN THE NEXT DAY!!" I HAD WENT N SHOCK AFTER SEEING KIM'S FACE ON TV, & I'VE NEVER BURIED A CHILD!! I HONESTLY DIDN'TKNOW WAT TO DO!! (FYI: I HAD GATHERED SOOO MUCH EVIDENCE, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY 4 ATTORNEYS & INVESTIGATORS, ETC.! ) PLUS, THE WAY TIMES R?!! WE WER POOR & WASN'T EVER GIVEN ANYTHING THAT COUD B CALLED "WHITE PRIVILEGE"!! NO! JUST ANOTHER DEAD COP!! SO, WHY R LIVES R NOTHING?!! NOBODY CARED!! THEY ALL KNEW, BUT COVERED THEIR OWN BUTTS!! I lost my Papaw at the age of 10 back in 2007. One of my key memories as a child was singing this song with him. I don’t remember much else from my childhood cause loosing him traumatized me but It was our song. Miss him every day and sing this song to my kiddos now 💔❤️

I was a kid in southern Indiana in the early 90s and I can remember sitting in the backseat of our Ford Tempo and my mom playing this song and singing with it over & over. I look back and realize it was just before my parents divorced. Music defines so much of our lives, and eventually, you're old enough and all the lyrics make perfect sense.

I miss real(older)country music too. I listen to it. And it takes me back to some of the best times when my sister and I loved each other more than anyone. We had some sad, strong, life changing times. Memories we’ll never forget. My sister may have drifted away from me, but we still have these memories and moments. That will be forever in my heart. We were always there for each other. Lorrie was always on our fave playlist.

Truly one of the greatest of her generation! I have been her fan since her first album and still get excited when I hear her music to this day! She was a page turner for Country music and women. She made it OK to be absolutely stunning and gorgeous and dress sexy and still was celebrated for her craft and omg what a incredible voice this woman has still! I've watched many interviews that Lorrie has done and she is as grounded as can be. Tons of frigging cool stories from her childhood growing up in the Grand Old Opry. Lorrie is definitely one of my female musicians heroes because of her incredible strength. Absolutely adore her!

When my daughter was about 4 years old, she loved listening to Lorrie and could sing a few of her songs dang near perfectly. This particular one, she would throw her little head back and belt it out. She is 34 now, still has the huge beautiful blue eyes, and can still belt it out. Loved it as a single dad and love it now.
