No one could have pulled this off as perfectly as Alan Jackson has. What a tribute to George Jones. Jackson is the best - they don't make country singers like him any longer. I've seen his twice at our state fair, and he's the greatest performer ever. Love this guy.
Wish he would help the younger singers...show them the way. They are it for the next 30 years.
No they dont I dont like any of the new country these days!. I seen Alan at the ohio state fair years ago!, hes awsome!. The best show I ever went to was George Jones, Vern Gosden, and Conway Twitty!.
@@steveashworth6707 I was lucky enough to see George Jones in person too, many years ago. For the first time in a public setting he sang the song "Choices" to this audience. We were silently both stunned and awed by this beautiful song, that pretty much told the story of George's "drinking" life. I'm so glad his last wife turned his life around, so we could have this talented singer many years longer.
Love Allen Jackson one of thr best
Amen, Judy.
I,m 84 yrs old, married in 1961, my sweetheart passed away in 2021, & i still have to go through what this song was about, beautiful song, god bless every living thing on this planet.amen.
I couldn't imagine the immense heart ache you must feel. When i was a young i would visit my elderly neighbours almost daily. When Alan (I know, big coincidence) passed away, his wife, Alice would play this song very often and when i heard it, i would go over to keep her company. I would always switch the song for a more happy Alan Jackson song like It's "5 OClock Somewhere" or "Little Bitty" to cheer her up a bit. She passed away about a year later from what i can only imagine to be a broken heart. Still miss them both very much though it's been over 15 years since they both passed.

Very very nicely done Alan couldn't asked anyone better to perform this song for old possum at his funeral
The same man that sung George Jones’ “Choices” when the jerks in charge of air time told Jones to cut the song short. Alan Jackson was top of the charts at the time so he was allowed to sing for as long as he wanted. He stopped his own song halfway through to sing Choices and left the stage immediately after. How his voice didnt waver while singing, under all that emotion, I'll never know.. I cant even listen without getting emotional. That's why he's a pro. Man, what a tribute.
This man, the singer, Alan Jackson, is just as iconic as the man he honors with this song, originally written by Jones. George Jones was arguably, THE voice of Country music, for decades. The song, of course, is written about George's wife Tammy Wynette, who was also a Country music superstar until her death on April 6th 1998. May they both rest in peace.
Actually wasn’t written about Tammy. Look
It up. I mean it sounds as though it is so I respect that statement but it wasn’t written about that to begin with. Greatest song ever! God bless!
George Jones didn't write this song, although he sang it beautifully! 🎼
Alan was the right man for this. Although not a country fan I do respect all music genres...this was gold...rip George, a real music legend, peace all and respect from a humble northerner.
Alan Jackson is my best county singer
I was a child at the Missouri State Fair wondering around with my sister (just 2 years older), when we heard this wonderful voice from the Budweiser tent. A skinny blonde kid that my sister thought was a good looking guy. Turned out to be Alan Jackson, before he was famous. We sat outside that area listening until he stopped playing songs. Wasn't until "Chatahoochie" that we mad the connection. What a man, what an example, what a career.
