Nate Smith - Dynamite (feat. Kokayi) @ The Jazz Cafe, London 25/05/2022

I’ve been following Nate closely for many years and finally got a chance to see him live. Super grateful.
Now, call me biased if you want because Nate is very high in top 10 musicians list, but it was probably one of the best live performances I’ve witnessed live. Unparalleled musicianship and tightness from the whole group, and of course Nate is just a POWERHOUSE of a drummer from a drummers point of view. In every aspect. Taste, dynamics, pocket, technicality, polyrhythmic language. Everything.
I am a very lucky man for having the chance to witness all that live, from so close, direct from the source.

ugh i love this song so much but it needs a dynamic guitar and this one is so dead, cmon do some dead notes, add some staccatos, play w some dynamics! This blocky execution makes me sad
