After our summer break in The Netherlands, we return to our paradise in the Off Grid Eco Community Malama. Our van is piled up with too much stuff, so much that we decided to take it to a weighing station to see if we are still on the good side.
Back at Malama a new challenge is on. Where to put all that stuff?

About the channel:
We are a world schooling family of four, living in a beautiful community in Portugal. Our journey began 13 years ago when we lived on an abandoned piece of land in Spain for six years. It was there that we discovered our passion for living in nature, being free, and sharing our experiences with others. We are passionate about off-grid living, natural building and most of all our children, to just let them be and to explore life in their own pace.
We also love to visit other places that share our values and make films about them to share with the world. Our goal is to inspire others to live closer to nature and be more drawn to life.
We'll also share stories about amazing ecovillages and communities around the world!
Learning from and making films about alternative ways of living is a passion of ours, as you will find out.

I really feel you trying to organise such a small space, I raised 5 children in a caravan just a little larger than your own..but we had no vermin free storage space outside either..for the mold ofcourse everything must be kept dry warm and ventilated,not easy when it rains! For hard to get to spaces,fill a sock with woodbased cat litter,it helps soak up any condensation..ofcourse you need to check and renew once in a while. Also the little dehumidifier gel boxes you can find in the Chinese shops here help too.
Thank you so much Fiona ❤️🙏❤️ You are our hero! Living with 5 kids in a caravan 😲 sounds really intense. Great tips as well. The ventilation is sometimes hard as you say. After three days of rain and mist everything just feels damp. We use ceramic stones (made from silica) in the wardrobe to absorbe the moist and dehumidifier under the beds. We’ll try the socks filled with woodbased cat litter 👍
The most difficult area is our (still) open kitchen. We love wooden spoon’s but they turn black already after some days. We turned to using more stainless steel and some things are made from plastic 🫣 Luckily that will change after our final kitchen is built.

3200 without everyone inside? Add the humans and a full tank of fuel..glad you made it..please though,this number is not just for fun. Its the braking capacity of the vehicle fully loaded..being over can be deadly,is it worth the risk? Ps..I think the weight for thar vehicles allowance is 3.5t..in which case you were just on the limit,allowing for yourself and fuel/water etc.

Dear Ironfistarrival, we lived in Spain a while ago. Nowadays we share our time between the Netherlands and Portugal. Making a living while travelling is always difficult, I know. So far we work it out by saving money while working back in the Netherlands. Lots of love your way ❤️
