BIG thanks for putting this up. Was just wondering if it was on here. I was there in 96 for Jazz and Blues fest staying a block away form the theater, and they hooked us up with tickets. We were front row center in the balcony. Was a marathon performance by Dave
😎💋
❤ So you run this for DMB? That's Cool.
Thank you ✌️💚🎶🙃
carter is never mentioned as one of the greats. His technical ability is off the charts, and a master at improvising
Carter is from another world. Dude is 100
You cannot be a guitar player and say “Dave Matthew’s sucks.” Incredible guitarist. I nerd out on learning to play his songs exactly like he does. What a workout.
Can always come here to remember what it was like to be young, happy, and not a care in the world. 25 years later… and I’m just happy to be alive. Much of it due to this band. And Copperpot! You have all my respect. Thank you 🙏
Totally Appreciate all that you said Keith. Uncerstood and respected, as well, I can totally relate!! As th saying goes Peace,Love and damn good music !!
Dave is one of the most underrated guitarists.
Was there that night. Love the reminiscing.
SO many gems. And to know they kept the same flavor and only did more on top of it! Blessed situation.
Thank you for uploading this! This is my favorite era of DMB. Just the 5 of them on stage jamming away! I so miss the violin. I hope they bring back the violin. It's like the soul of the music.
I miss the Violin / Boyd too
The original trilogy (Under Table, Crash, Crowded Streets) is the essence of DMB. I immensely miss that beautiful defining sound and passion
@@johnc1280 Don't forget about Busted Stuff!!
@@johnc1280 I totally agree, and BTCS especially because Lillywhite exclusively produced that one. Such an amazing time. RCA and the band really messed up when they shelved the Lillywhite Sessions. I'm so happy that got leaked because that was great stuff. By the time Busted Stuff came around, it just wasn't the same.
@@johnc1280 can't forget the real O.G., Remember Two Things
Even the sound check is amazing!
Thank you man! crying here. miss the old days man. this going out to yall. I hope everybody is well and healthy during these shitty times man.
Cried pretty much the whole time. Be well and thanks for the kind message
Back at you. Man would I love to relive these days
Just got introduced to this band about two weeks ago by my new partner my island warrior that now lives in the land of auz ..these guys are awesome...amazing how musicians like this seem to slip through the tracks when we only live across the pacific pond from eachother ???
Enjoy Melody!!! They ROCKED the HOUSE!!!!!
LeRoi solo on Proudest Monkey is 🔥
Wow Dave in some kind of zone during Two Step... incredible.
Nice to be able to hear his guitar
He just be like "ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya yaaaaaaaah"
#36!! How many times I've listened to #36 from Red Rocks 1995 drinking a scotch and smoking a cigar imagining what it would have been like to see it live. This is as close as it gets.
My thoughts, too
This is a good version too but is nothing without Tim Reynold's guitar solo from LARR
Thank you for temporarily bringing me back to the 90s 😍
I saw them in concert at the Woodlands Pavillion in Houston, Oct of 96. Thanks for taking me back !!
This era is the best time of my life and DMB contributed. Excellent show. Say Goodbye. 🔥❤️💯
EPIC blast and epic upgrade from the deep archives unseen :O
This! This is the show that probably would have changed the whole course of my life had I gone to it back then! I would've been 15yo. 😍🙌🏽🎶💓
I saw them a couple months after this, I was 16. Floor seats scored last minute. A drunk middle-aged woman fell on me while she was dancing, it was a crazy show.
dave mathews takes me back to my darkest days and brings me back to who i am
Yes he does just like the Eye of Horus is upon us
Same here same here
Thanks again Copperpot for this gem. Fantastic show and amazing quality for a '96 release. Wonderful job.
I was so lucky to have attended many of their shows back in 96-2000
The original Dave Matthews Band I fell in love with as a teenager back in the early/mid nineties!!
awesome, thanks. Watching it now - full screen and through bluetooth speaker. Never really realized it but Dave - among other talents - is a pretty dang good and quite unique guitar player. These guys were and always will be fantastic.
How amazing!!! Watching their performances literally brings tears to my eyes. I wish I was much older back then to attend their concerts. I will be attending my first DMB concert next year.
I was 6 months pregnant in 1996 when I first saw them. I danced the whole show! I sure hope your memories of DMB live are as grand as mine.
Circle of life man. I feel same way about the dead!
Dave left it all on that stage! 2 Encores...Wow! Loved the show
They are the best band that ever was
Was reminiscing about how I got tickets to this show last minute. So I went looking for the video. I probably saw him 16x and this was one of my favorite intimate shows by DMB. Can’t believe this is on YT and great vid quality.
This isn't just back when Boyd was in the band, this is back when he was a huge asset and not a liability (playing and otherwise). Like, holy shit, he's in tune here.
debatable. there's some songs that I yern for the catsmeow, but honestly its fine.
lol the guy never progressed past sounding like a 14 year old that just learned the blues scale
That first slow version of WWYS. My god - how have I only just discovered this version!? I've been listening to that song in various forms since like 1996, and just heard it for the first time in 2023. Amazing.
It's not very common!
@@MikeBaas I figured. Man, I wish they played this version more often. Its great!
I'm hearing this slow version for the first time right now I think... It's phenomenal!
The sound check is so cool. Especially watching Dave be serious during songs and the random mystery guy stands behind him. Thanks for sharing!!
Copperpot-OEW5 is the best. thank you as always
I love it when you make me smile, Dave!
Insane score! Best footage of old school #36 and Little Thing yet! Soundcheck is also golden. Well done sir!
Brings me back to my youth, this is amazing. thank you
Thanks for keeping this gem alive Chester! Brings back some great memories from the good ol' Napster days. All songs are amazing...I'm not sure if there's a better version of #36 out there--if so, I'd love to hear it.
Wow I never knew the whole show (sans Jimi) and soundcheck was filmed. Love seeing the solo Little Thing and Typical. The slow WWYS during the sound check was very cool and unique too. I had this on VHS as Crashing the Quarter years ago but it was just a portion of the whole show. Thanks for sharing!
me tooo! i had no idea that the their was more songs!!!!!!!!!
Agreed miss that violinist, they had the magic together ❤
What a gem! Thank you for sharing!
This is a banging show!
Absolutely Beautiful. Thank You for posting this. God how I miss this period in time. It's so Clear and Outstanding. I envelopes me. I love it!. I NEED TO BE BY WATER TO HEAR THIS.
@Will Perry creepy af
Such a cool gift of you to give me, CB, this DMB concert, awesome. A much needed decompression session after a dubious day or two, love it. Cheers. Peace. Mike B.
Love the bands sound in this era.
Nice work Copperpot!
#41 one of the best dmb tunes.
The soundcheck footage is so cool. Thanks for this
Thanks for putting this up. I worked at the State Palace Theater for a number of years during this period. I have worked so many memorable shows including this one. Robert and Brian Brunet had a great gig running this venue, too bad they got wrapped up with all of Disco Donnie's Rave fiasco.
Totally blown away!!!! 💪🏼🇲🇽. Amazing vídeo.
this is a solid conversion from VHS! Well done
@ Copperpot-OEW5
Thank you for sharing. My favorite is definitely early Dave Matthews Band.
I was here!!!!!!! so amazing xx
I am , New Orleans . This is home and these guys did us , no really , they layed it down and shamed the B team . Some of the A team shuddered at the thought of them coming back . What a fucking professionial band . DAYAHMMM !
Nothing better than an Encore from Dave!
reminds me of my college days... great video!
Whoaaaaa. Thank you so much for this!
Thank you Jason
This is soooo rich, as a disabled veteran never would've had a way to be there; given me a wiked tast of life. Mucho GRACIAS 🤩😂🙃
I miss this fucking band so much. Saw them for the first time Fall 96.
Thanks you so much!!! It's a Treasure!!
Beautiful!😊🥰
Such simpler times😔
Thank you!
Beautiful!❤😊
Two Step is one of the greatest songs, ever played, live, by any band. For the longest time, I thought that the 1995 Red Rocks was the best version. Then, I heard New York Grand Central Park. It took almost two decades to top themselves. The Central Park Two Step was insane!
wait what? there was 8 years between the two
I said the same thing in my head 😂 two decades?
I think 1996 was the year I listen them for the first time
Wow!!!!!! So cool, thank you!!!!!
Jeez that early Little thing hits me in the soul 😔 😍🙏
This evening, as I was delighting in the band, I turned away to play with my dog for a moment, and when I turned back, there was a basket of strawberries and cherries. My girl had gottn for me. For one of the brief moments in my life, I felt as if I was in heaven, with my girl, my dog, and the strawberries and cherries. Thank you, Dave Matthews, and everyone in your band you are a master arranger.
Wow incredible!!!
Oh my! This is the best 2 step I can find. All good, but this is great!
There is one thing you can be sure of, DMB will give so much effort soul heart and in the end they enjoy itcas much as we do. Always had that feeling walking away at the end of a show or set. This is young DMB. They have been around you know. 7/5/2021 now. Wow. This is still so jammin shayit.
Simply UHmazing!
Awwwwe...sweet, sweetest of Jam sessions live
That’s a great song I can here it recorded already in my imagination
Thanks, Jason! LeRoi on PM -- MERCY!!!!
Fantastic concert
That guitar sounds SOOOO crisp and chunky.
My sister and I saw dave I at the ic light ampateather south side..the best show he is the best entertainer of the 20th century.
DAVE MATTHEWS BAND GENIUSZ GENIUSZ GENIUSZ nad GENIUSZAMI KOSMOS KOCHANI na zawsze dziękuję BARDZO i MIŁOŚĆ ☮️ POKÓJ MUZYKA tak
So cool to see this. Reminds me of all the bootleg tapes I used to collect. The way they played Say Goodbye before it was released was probably my favorite song they ever did. The CD version disappointed me because it just wasn't the same.
I used to collect the tapes back then too. Maxwell xl2.. No tacking #. I couldn’t wait to get home a check the mail for a package.. hook a bro up on a blanks and postage lol. Good times
Una de esas band que deja huella en tu vida
❤️❤️❤️
one of the best band..
wonderful
En esta época si se iba a ver los conciertos en vivo, sin celulares.
This is your best video
That's literally the best version of #41
Listeners supported
#36 That drum solo tho! 👏 👏
Wasn't Dave clean-shaven when this Gig started? He's renowned for epic concerts & love him for that.
Love the growl!!
I saw DMB at the NO State Palace Theater on April 19th, 1995 - the same day of the Oklahoma City Bombing. Big Head Todd and Boxing Ghandi opened.
Best Little Thing ever? Damn.
U.N.H 96?
such good footage
Roi!!! 😭😭 sounds heavenly with carter on that Say Goodbye intro
Im one of the lucky people where dave Matthews music is still fresh/new to me, (not including the hits, you know what i mean..everybody has heard crash, ants marching,etc..)
The Two Step from this show on DMB's channel is awfully strange - it's only 3 minutes 49 seconds long, many of the camera angles are different, and it is heavily chopped up with respect to the full version here, though the cuts are really smooth and I never noticed. I always figured they played a condensed arrangement for a promo show in support of the Crash album, but always wondered about the context behind that video so it's nice to see that there's an amazing looking pro-shot 96 video to come of it!
Woah. That alt #41 during the sound check.
Isn’t it amazing that 5 gives just walk into a room setup for them and THIS is what comes out on the First Take?? Uhh…whuuu?
Can't wait! TGIF DMB family!!!😎💚🔥🔥🔥☮️☮️☮️
❤ Carter is 1 f the Greatest Drummers ✌️💚🎶🙃
All I have been saying is this is The Original Dave Mathews band With Dynamics, Listen to The new Dave Mathews Band we have now sounds completely different!
Adding TR changed the sound. No electric guitar was a large part of the early sound.
I agree, 90s DMB sound is definitely different than current DMB. I personally loved just seeing the 5 of them jam out. Definitely miss the violin, which I believe they need to bring back!
25 plus years will change anything. There is a certain energy here that you don't get today. Today you get a slightly more polished version with Tim Reynolds pushing too much to the front sometimes. How many bands from the mid to early 90's aren't even around anymore. I've enjoyed the evolution of the band, and am glad I still have a chance to see them live with a different but the same level of energy.
Dave having a blast
