Swedish Submachine Gun (SMG) | Carl Gustaf M/45 | How It Works

The Kulsprutepistol m/45 (Kpist m/45), also known as the Carl Gustaf M/45 and the Swedish K SMG, is a 9×19mm Swedish submachine gun (SMG) designed by Gunnar Johansson, adopted in 1945 (hence the m/45 designation), and manufactured at the Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The m/45 was the standard submachine gun of the Swedish Army from 1945 to 1965. It was gradually replaced in Swedish service by updated Ak 4 battle rifles and Ak 5 assault rifles. The last official user of the m/45, the Swedish Home Guard (Hemvärnet), retired it from service in April 2007.

The model is not exactly a Carl Gustav M/45 but it does show some resemblance. It somehow has the retracting wire stock of the Akaba but the Akaba does not have a barrel shroud and it has a shorter barrel with the front sight on the receiver.

The Best thing about the gun is you can bump the RoF by inserting a big battery in the back, as the swedes found out & demonstrated by the talking balaclava

That is actually s Stemple 76/45. It's very similar (and shares some design lineage) to the Swedish M45, but is a totally different gun.

the firerate of this gun is kinda like the mp40 as i know but you could just beef up the spring and make less room behind the mag and you could have had a faster firerate and a shorter gun! am i just stupid and cant see some massive problem?

Have everything behind the barrel to a stock instead and an underbarrel in the front, you would also need to adjust the trigger to the stiffer spring👍🏼

There is an extractor. The cartridge is automatically pushed back by gas pressure and the extractor only works to guide the cartridge as it ejects.

@@themost9058 thinking of building one myself,,, just a blank fire as I’m uk 🤫🤫 so there is a clip on the bolt that grabs the incision in the back of the shell or it’s just a case of blow back throws the shell out the breach

The stock is wrong, shouls be 100% verical pistol grip and side ffolding stock. The rear sight doesn't appear in the right place and little extra latch is missing

Hi. If you mean the firing pin, in this case, because it is an open bolt type, the firing pin is fixed and hits the primer at the end of the path.
