I've always been a fighter. I prided myself on being strong "lifting weights" and trying to be the toughest guy in the room "looking back I'm ashamed at who I was and how I acted and how I probably treated some people". I enjoy mms type training but mainly striking, grappling, bjj, with very little aikido. I enjoyed aikido a lot but very impractical for the results I was after at the time. Would probably suit me really well now. I always liked the idea of a "Jeet Kune Do" phyilosophy. Taking the best of different things and making them better together. Not unlike your armor. You took a lot of different things you liked and matched them up and now you have a pretty impressive / pretty inexpensive alternative to buying something that you can't customize without even more money. Like I already said, I've always relied on my own body as my weapon of choice but now that I'm getting older and my body is beat to hell " knee, hip, and shoulder surgeries" I'm really thinking that I need to aquire and become acquainted with and train with some other types of weaponry.
Historically speaking the shonobi did have body armor so that is why i have it too, and if you wanna do heavy weapons sparring it is a must. Not only that but imagine you have to go up againt multiple attackers, then a body armor is like an protective engel. But i understand you, and a fighter needs to be able to fight without armor. I do so, but there is a time and place for everything. I can also climb and swing with this armor, plus if a dog attacks me i have much better chance of survival.

Between hunting and tactical gear I've picked up over the years I've got a nice assortmemt of things to place together for an armor / tactical / "greyman" outfit or two. What weaponry do you recommend buying or making? Buying new or used. Knives, swords, machetes, axes, tomahawk, spears, or something else? Maybe a shield? Bug out bags! Food, medicine, batteries, tech? With this whole apocalyptic scenario, the unknown is as important as the known.This is the first video of yours I've seen but I'd like to watch more and hopefully learn somethings and maybe through comments you could pick up a few tricks or ideas yourself. I look forward to your response either in the comments or in an actual video. Best of luck. Hopefully when SHTF we'll be ready and prepared!... and if it doesn't, well it never hurts to hedge your bets!!!!
If you can buy used good stuff do it, if not buy new or make it yourself. Also if you are planning to get ready for some kind of society breakdown then body armor is good, lightweight and tactical. And the most important you need to gear up for the environment. Oh and a last thing, training in survival and fighting is essential.

I'm really thinking that I need to aquire and become acquainted with and train with some other types of weaponry. Any suggestions? I already own multiple firearms. Not bragging but I am proud of some of them. I have 4 handguns, 2 rifles, and 2 shotguns. I have a Ruger 22 that was meant for my wife " she didn't want it so now it's my backup / ankle gun" Hi-Point 40 pistol, Charter Arms 38 snub nose ultralite, Glock 9mm - Roni convert (semi-auto pistol / rifle combo), Hi-Point 4095 Carbine rifle, Savage Stevens Pump 12g Shotgun, and finally a sawed off over/under 12g with custom Punisher paint and custom fore-end handle grip and pistol grip. Its totally illegal cause I cut the barrel too short but I had a blast making it from an old shotgun given to me by my cousin who got it from his ex's stepdad's neighbor's uncle " old running joke". It looks awesome, but besides that as a home defense gun you can't beat it. Aim in the general direction and carnage will ensue. If this whole thing is an apocalyptic experience then guns just like anything else, have a shelf life. Bladed weapons can not run out of ammo. They can be made with little knowledge and effort.
You can train with knives, machetes, spear, staff, guns and what ever you feel like. If it's for self defense then think about what most people attack with, like a knife, hammer, pistol, machete, stick or metal pipes. Just use your imagination 😉

Yeah that is nothing new ! This I light body armor and it it not ment for sword combat against a person in samurai armor. You missed the point of the video. I also have a video about shinobi clothing, check it out. Beside that, this armor is for police officers, it's riot gear! But it is light and you can walk all day with. You can run, jump, climb and swim. So it is all the worth all the money.
Black glows under night vision and thermal, not sure if anyone has night vision in your area though.
Tbh that’s more of a Samurai due to the heavy armor and the way you have two swords on ur hip. Cool stuff tho

The two types of vest are not bulletproof or stab resistant. The riot gear or breastplate is stab resistant 👍

It's for hema and some law enforcement also use them...its very hard plastic...its.o.k body armor, not the best but for price it does the job
