@@kimberlygiacometti6041 Michael Jackson was the complete opposite of Tom Pretty. Completely choreographed, completely lip-synced, and just a horrible show. Prince was much better than MJ, but still fell short of Tom Petty, IMO.
EDIT: OK, OK, Prince fans, I just went and rewatched the Prince halftime show, and while I like the Tom Petty songs better than Prince's songs, you got me...Prince's halftime show was indeed better than the Tom Petty Super Bowl halftime show.
Prince was just electric during the entire halftime show, and my gosh what an entertainer he was. He ripped on the guitar, sang, and moved all over the stage, all while wearing platform shoes on the rain soaked stage.
Gotta finally give him his props for the best halftime show ever. My apologies for questioning you guys.. 👏👏👏

And TP and The Heartbreakers didn't over use studio tricks, when recording they didn't forget they are a live band, they kept it simple.

One of my favorite half time shows! The guitar stage is so cool. This Superbowl show took place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ at the time, where the AZ Cardinals play. Those fans are volunteer Arizonans in the audience. Some of them helped with setting up that stage. I love the AZ desert and mountain footage toward the end of the show. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are probably the best all-American rock band. Their music matches to the spirit of America in many ways.

I remember watching this superbowl at a bar & grill. Me and my friends all ran up an insane tab by halftime and decided we needed to leave and cut our losses. I made every single person stay for this half time show and we went back home during the 3rd quarter. Everybody was mad that they missed much of the 3rd quarter but I wasn't going to miss Tom Petty. RIP.

NFL take a note , this a halftime show just a man and his ass kickin music you don’t need a bunch of half dressed girls wiggling and jiggling, just good music from one of the best rockers ever

No it’s got nothing to do with me. It’s the fact that small children are watching and the NFL should be more responsible for presenting there halftime shows in a way that is acceptable for everybody
