- 12T for the front, 44T for the rear. Equivalent to a 48T in the rear with a 13T in the front. I did this as an experiment and so I didn't have to change the chain.
Also, I started using a new Gopro Hero 7 Black and I messed up the aspect ratio so I apologize for the small screen.
Just a word of advice - it’s much easier to hold the bolt with the Allen wrench and loosen the nut, as opposed to holding the nut and loosening the bolt.

Quick question super random but were you in the military? i've watched several of your videos and you're very organized, well detailed, and the right amount of information.
I have tried a couple of different (lower) gearing set ups on my WR, but have now returned to the stock 13/43 and find I like it a lot.
Hi, Nice video!
Locking the rear brake is good tips for me
Just YFI, Changing the sprocket ratio also changes the speed meter pulse.
12oClockLabs's SpeedoDRD Speedometer Calibrator is good solution
14-47 is a good setup I heard also replace any worn chain guide or rollers
Nice stuff mate, it will be interesting to see how that chain slider wears are you say. I had gone just +2 in the rear on mine when I had it, I was able to keep the stock chain and make up the difference in the axle adjustment.
Nice. How's the new bike treating you?
@@jammarules It's still going strong mate. just cant ride with all the covid crap going on
@@Steves_ADV Outdoor restrictions are bat shit crazy.
Make sure the chain doesn't rub on the swingarm, common issue on the wrs
changed mine too a couple weeks ago. i put a new chain on too.
I think Hodges is open...
@@jammarules oh yeah? ill have to swing by the load off spot and check it out
Went with 13 46 Mox rear. The gearing is lower than what I expected but it works very well on back roads. The Mox is nice to have, no more harshness. Next time I will probaby try a 45 rear so I can still go on the motorway.
your chain is gonna rub the swing arm you should try 14 /49 this is what i run great on the trails and road
i just put on 14/49 and it has worked out very well so far. off road and on road
awesome
@@1122ss How many links in the chain for this combo?
@@1122ss Hey chief, do you think that the 14/49 option is good for steep/rough hill climbs and monos/wheelies ??
14 front 49 rear is the setup you want, check out Rocky Mountains video on wr250r gearing .
M Lebowski I just ordered that exact set.. have you tried it yourself?
I think the 14 49 is more adventure oriented. I went with a set up more dirt oriented. We'll see how the wear on the swing arm goes...
thats what i run works awesome all around
Never put a 12t on the front of a wr250r they already have a problem with the chain chewing up the swing arm go with a 14/50 and new chain
What do you recommend for a chain if go the after market sprocket route??
Nice 👍
