I believe he did more a file transfer without leaving a copy (which is basically a "delete" or extraction of the "spammers files") as now they are transferred over. (now he has proof for the cops)
. I know for sure USB sticks or thumb drives are gone when you delete. There is no recovery. Their "work" is on their sticks - not going to share "customers" with other scammers...so they would not be in C drive(which is for Microsoft program). That is as much as I know.
Just by the names "TeamViewer" - "Ultra Viewer" - "Any desk" you can just see by the name that it might as well be called "We are snooping in your PC behind your back". Definitely, there is no privacy or security with these programs.

They scam old people too out of savings...and the old folks are vulnerable and unable to fight back. I wonder how many older folks have suffered horrible heart attacks or stress and landed in the hospital or worse. There are many crimes, and many perpetrators of various crimes in the world, but I think this is the WORST thing you could do to people.

At 28:53 scammer is saying to his colleague "he(scammer) stopped any desk software and did not know how all this happened". Then at 29:01 he is saying "customer made the fool out of me and did all this".
From his Hindi (language) accent I can make out he is most likely a person from the state of Bihar or Jharkhand as both these states have close proximity to the state of West Bengal where these guys are situated.

I would take a count, during period of these occurrences, of all credit clients and their locations through new credit applications & get any info/cross-reference/FACT-CHECK data for accuracy. Ask them to meet as you are traveling and are not hostile you are local visiting on business and want to do right, then plan (beforehand) to have local police, federal law-enforcement agencies of that fine country alerted, of said meeting in which he'll be investigated/charged/released.
I am retired...if I could do this I would spend all day every day doing it ! Well done sir

Lol either way if you skip an ad or not, he still gets revenue. Ads work 2 ways, either you watch for 15-30 seconds without being able to skip, or your given an option to skip a 5 second ad. The 5 second ad still generates revenue simply because you interacted with it when you pressed "skip ad".

Unfortunately, he knows he's safer with you giving the files to the police, because they won't do anything. Very few police departments in India (or other countries, really) have competent cyber crime units anyway, and most can be bribed to ignore it.
I mean a lot of Indians hate these people. And a lot of first world countries are starting to do something about it. Here's hoping soon progress will actually be made

INAPPROPRIATE there were many instances where the police departments and cyber crime unit in the victimâs country were provided information to warn victims and refused to do anything bout it. For things to be done we need to put pressure on those in charge to take action whether âweâ are in a first or third world country.

Thank you for doing this. I know you wonât see this, but these people scammed me and destroyed my life. I say âthese peopleâ because I will never forget the accent of the scumbags that knew when i was at my lowest point of my life and took full advantage of it. The FBI, Secret Service, dept of treasury, nobody would help me. I filed so many complaints with each one. But you are striking back at them. I was so naive and desperate that I could not believe anyone could be so evil. So disgustingly evil. I thought these were good people. But there were at least 8 different people that were a part of the scam ring that took everything from me.
So sorry Scott. You survived, your life will get better. It will. As long as you are breathing, you are doing ok.

I really needed to hear this today. Yesterday I tried calling eBay customer service and I got one of these jerks and because I'm smart enough not to fall into their little tricks they tried to get my PayPal account and when I told him no they hung up on me. I wish I was smart like you and I could take care of them myself
