    One of my first silver orders when I started stacking in September 2014 was 100 kooks from Gainesville Coins. My only mistake was not buying additional coins to keep if I wanted to sell them in the future! I'm basically a buy and hold investor and I paid more than you for them, but Gainesville had the for the best price at the time. They are still worth more now than when I bought them from most sights. I haven't gone back to Gainesville due to their poor handling of my credit card transactions and their shipping charges are outrageous! I just had to comment on the kooks! I just love the coins and also picked up a roll of 2014's along with both the 2014 & 2015 10 oz coins which are phenomenal! The 2014's are already up more than I paid for them so I suspect the 2015's will do the same thing. Anyway thank you for an entertaining unboxing! :-)

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety

      You are very welcome! I think you are right, the 2015 kooks will be real winners! Gainesville shipping is pretty damn expensive. My shipping charge was $32 while it is free many other places, so when calculating what is the best deal you definitely have to factor that in. Thanks for watching!

  • @SilverSiren
    @SilverSiren Před 9 lety +3

    Many of us are so amazed with the premiums on the atlantis mint bars, but mostly because so many other dealers/mints are price gouging given current spot prices. Atlantis Mint will get our business when we do another "add bulk to the stack" order to encourage them to continue pricing their products reasonably. We only have one 1oz bar so far but I like it as much as I like the prospector and monarch bars if not more. Nice pickups!

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety +1

      Thanks SS! Yeah I am not only impressed with their products, but their prices, shipping, and customer service is some of the best I have ever experienced. That is a main reason I have purchased so much from them and plan to purchase more! You gotta support great companies like that IMO.

      alright so here i go.. i'm going to be buying about 25 more coins soon and i recall you talking about how well the kooks have done in the past at maintaining and appreciating in value. would you suggest purchasing the new 2015 kooks with a mintage of 500k, or the ones with the privy with a mintage of only 50k.. lower mintages usually mean they'll do well but i just don't know how to factor in how the market has usually dug the indication of lunars on the coin or not.. keep in mind, i'm still a novice at this and the more knowledge i gain, the better decisions i'll make for the long run.. thanks man!!

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety

      Darren L It is a tough call on getting the Kooks with the privy or not. They will cost you about $3 more per coin. So you could get 28 of the regular Kooks for the same price of the 25 Privy Kooks. But the privy Kooks do seem to do a little better in the long run for price. But either way I don't think you can go wrong.

    They make them not in July. You have to remember that US date system is different to everywhere else in the world. 07/10/14 is 7 Oct 2014, not July Also kookaburra is pronounced cook-are-bar-rar not kewkaboora.

    Somebody might have already told you this but I'm too lazy to read all the comments. In Australia we format the dates differently to the US. 07/10/14 is for the 7th of October.

    Would you put the Koala and kookaburra in the same category and why?

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety

      I think the Kooks are a lot better investment. All you have to do is look at Apmex prices and the 2014 and 2013 kooks are close to $30 while the 2014 and 2013 Koala's are still close to the release price of the current one at $20

    • @Figs4Life
      @Figs4Life Před 9 lety

      Yes but the buying back price is different from Apmex, they can set the price to whatever they want so they can make a profit, but they buy them back very cheap.
      I watch eBay to see the price fluctuation on a supply and demand.
      I don't know lol

  • @edstar1972

    I have a question. It may come off as critical or dickish, but believe me it's not.
    I am new to stacking. I am hooked. Addicted. My question is, why do you stack? You obviously have a lot of money. (a lot more than I do) Is it merely a passionate hobby?
    The reason I ask is this. I am a blue collar paycheck to paycheck guy. If I could afford the stacks you get, I don't think I'd be too worried about my finances.
    I said in my first stacking vid "A Stacker is Born" I proclaimed that if I had $100,000.oo I would convert it all to silver and gold. Probably gold for size, and storage.
    I mean, do you do it just for fun? If so, that's great. Just curious.

      Eddie Sandoval By the way. I am a fan. I am awaiting delivery of one of your YPS bars!

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety

      Eddie Sandoval First off, that is not critical or dickish at all. You should read some of the comments I get lol. The reason I stack is because with the economy the way it is today I am a firm believer of having physical assets. I don't trust my money in banks or in the stock market. The majority of my wealth is in real estate. But I wanted to diversify my assets, and since I pretty much only wanted to be invested in physical assets, PM's were the way to go, and silver especially. I use my rental properties to buy silver for myself. I did a video on it about 2 years ago: czcams.com/video/si8VW3Vt9Ko/video.html
      And thanks Eddie for ordering one of my bars, I hope you like it!

    • @edstar1972
      @edstar1972 Před 9 lety

      Thanks. So, if it was me purely investing in physical assets, I'd just get large quantities of the biggest bullion bars like 100oz or just gold. But I guess there is some enjoyable aspect to doing it this way! I love the way you "pour" the bars in your intro!

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety +2

      Eddie Sandoval Thanks Eddie :) Well if I did that, I would get bored and most likely spend it on something else instead of saving my money in silver. Plus there is a reason why I like YPS poured bars. Not only do I like them, when they no longer offer them, they go up in price nicely because they are limited. For instance I bought 20 of their 2 oz skulls when they still offered them for $45 (see my large YPS unboxing). In just this short period of time they now sell for $65 on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/191607181976 Heck his first one which was a 3 oz, just sold for $167 www.ebay.com/itm/261947520766 So yeah even cool silver you like to collect can appreciate pretty quickly.

    • @edstar1972
      @edstar1972 Před 9 lety +1

      Thx! And wow. I'm trying to get a second job or source of income. I'm 28 but I have 40k in student loans (I have a Masters), and Im a video game designer. So my industry always has "Crunch Time" and being salary I do not receive OT pay. Nice bonus but its only after a game ships once every two years. So getting a second job as a bartender doesn't really work b/c I do work until 11pm-1am when crunch time hits and crunch time can last for 3-9 months.

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 9 lety

      Alu Card Yeah that sucks, but you should at least be making pretty decent money in the video game industry. You are still young yet (I'm 38) so you have plenty of time to get outta debt (the most important thing you can do) and start funneling money into your future.

      Silver Slacker We can all do mistakes, and that's a very small and common one. You're stacking silver, so you can't be that dumb ;) Problem is parts of the world doing things differently, especially in today's globalized world. As an European born in the first 12 days of the month, I am receiving every years greetings for my birthday by american companies on the wrong date because they reversed the month and day ;) Hotels or casinos where I was did the same mistake as you by taking the date from my passport.
