The principle of operation of this tool contributes : assembly simplification, parts count and cost.
    1) it is a single sided truing stand.
    2) the rim center can be aligned to hub center.
    3) left side lateral error location and correction
    4) left side radial error location and correction
    5) flip the wheel repeat 3) and 4) = optional
    6) flip the wheel to check “dish” offset in 2)
    7) dish tool is unnecessary or optional.
Given these assumptions the flaw in this video should not affect truing quality.

Thank you for information, I wanted a stand that was even and straight, that's just me I guess. I guess I'll just go back to truing my wheel on my bike with a zip tie for now. Not much difference I guess... Thank you for the additional information.

Zip tie is a good idea. It cannot tell us dish error particular rear wheel since we can’t flip it L/R. A dish jig is needed.

Thanks, wow you're really technical, yeah zip tie is just simple. You know of a truing stand that's good for price? I want it straight and even

@@philoso377 Thanks for your insight! After some time thinking, you're absolutely right that the flaws wouldn't impact the truing accuracy. Thanks a bunch! Take care!
I updated this video description giving you credit...

@@philoso377 Hi, why one cannot flip the rear wheel and then bring it back just for dishing purposes? thank you for a short feedback.

    Nice presentation.
    Was the table level?
A more precise measurement could be taken at the trough but V slot because V angle and level bar width contributes accumulated error. If possible rest a straight edge in between the bar and the trough such that the bar is clear off the V slot. Hope this help.

Thank you! That's the first thing I checked that my floor was leveled when I first realized the unevenness when the stand was on my floor. Then, I checked that the table was leveled. It's definitely the stand V slot that's uneven. I even tried to see if I could somehow adjust the stand parts to make it level, but no chance. I should really not be trying to fix a new stand out of the box, especially for a Park Tool brand which I thought was high quality. Regarding the V angle measurement, my bolt on axle wheel seats around where I measured so it's more accurate for me to measure where I did. All this started when I placed my wheel on the stand and noticed the wheel axle was tilted...and that's where I began to notice all the things I didn't like about the stand.
Thank you so much for watching and your comment! Be safe!

Remember to read my other comments. The error in your sample doesn’t void its principle of operation.

When I saw this thing for the first time I could tell it was a piece of junk. I bought the Feedback Sports truing stand which turns out it is a nightmare to work with also. There is a no name stand on ebay that is very close to the Pro Truing stand from Park Tool and it goes for about $160. I think I might buy it because I like building my own wheels.

I think that the plane that the wheel is spinning doesn't have to be perpendicular to right. The gauge is the reference point. You could mount the jig horizontally or any other angle and would still work correctly.

Park wants you to be disappointed with it so you can buy their better ones. Which one do you use now?

I never thought it like that, you got something there 🤔. I just tru my wheels mounted on my bike like I used to do before. It's just like using the park stand lol

While YK Chan is right that a single-sided truing stand doesn't have to be super accurate. That's not really the point. is it? It is a Park Tool. When you buy a Park Tool you are paying for Quality. I get it, that this is not a top-of-the-line stand but it should be fairly level and somewhat straight and things should move smoothly.
It is also possible you received a bad stand, It happens. But I think there are too many things wrong with it for it to be that simple. I would have returned it myself. That is just my two cents worth. Sorry for the bad English.

First off.....you are not showing a level of any meaning.......the level needs to be where the axel would be.
