Any stretches that were supposed to help the hamstring made my calves burn intensely, and my coach said it was normal. I had an eureka moment watching this, I truly never thought I'd find out what my problem was. Dope! Great teaching and practice. With MS, nerves are often inexplicably tight and tense. I have gone through all the "normal" stretching and such to no avail. These nerve training guides have been a revelation!

    I've tried it and it doesn't add any range for me, while the normal static stretching does. I think this only might be relevant for people who are already quite flexible such that the nerves become a limiting factor

    • @jessicamiller6143
      @jessicamiller6143 Před 2 lety +2

      I encountered the same. I know my issues are due to sciatic issue based on a recent trip to the ER due to the pain of it and this didn’t do anything for me.

    • @TheLordStuff
      @TheLordStuff Před rokem

      This goes both ways. It will not help you with your range if your muscles are not flexible enough so you will also most likely not know a difference.
      As for me, I did sports all my life and due to working on the computer a lot, sitting all day, plus some sports injuries, my sciatic nerves are really sensitive atm.
      So in the beginning of a stretch session I am insanely tight and reach a certain pain threshold rather quickly, but the more I relax and mobilize certain spots my range increases immensely (to the point where only the muscels are the limit). Pushing through that threshold usually let me do a decent stretching without any further pain at first, but eventually worsening the pain once I cooled down.
      This might just not be it for you, but it definitely is a topic for me 👍 I subscribed just now :)

    A couple of years ago, I started to realise that a certain tension in my arms and shoulders wasn't just muscle related, but the nerve running along it. For some reason, I never thought to think this way with my legs. I look forward to trying this. 😊👍

    Wow. I am seriously tight down my rear chain. Started yoga in the mornings to try and loosen things up. Cow/cat poses helps me a lot but I’ve just followed this and can straight away place my palms flat on the floor. I could do this before but only after a serious amount of uncomfortable stretching. Thankyou

    I saw this video a few months ago and now I'm giving it a real try, and so far it has made a HUGE difference! The forward fold is the bane of my existence, and I could never explain why that specific stretch hurt SO MUCH MORE and was SO MUCH TIGHTER than everything else I tried. I've spent SO many years trying to stretch that area without any success, feeling that the stretching was just making me tighter somehow. Now that I'm trying nerve flossing and being careful to give the nerves a break rather than just banging on them like I was, I already feel my legs unlocking in a way they never have before. Best part is that I don't have to push through that incredible grinding pain I would get trying to do the forward fold! I always thought I was just being a wuss about it, because the only way to stretch is to just suck it up and push through the pain, right? But now, allowing myself to leave that behind me is the BEST feeling, and is encouraging me to stretch more because now it actually feels good! Thank you SO MUCH!!

    wow, always had some sciatic tightness and I was a little skeptical. Went from about 45deg (been sitting too much lately) to nearly 90 is about 40 seconds! Nice. About being gentle yes definitely. Was doing some physical therapy for a sciatica flare up and before I was properly diagnosed I was guided through some stretches that were too aggressive and really irritated the nerve. Probably the most painful thing I've ever been through. So be gentle!
