    Where was this held i missed. Can you talk about this situation. A couple got married both were non believers or Luke warm Christians then along the way one surrender their life to christ and one is has not and actually things keep going from bad to worse...how can you advise someone going through that?

    • @SoilaandCurtis
      @SoilaandCurtis  Před měsícem +2

      This is often a tough scenario. I would advise that the one who is now a believer consult with their pastor. Mostly because the pastor would understand their context better than us.
      But Biblically speaking, if the unbelieving spouse does not want a divorce, the believing one should not divorce but ought to continue trusting God for the salvation of the other while also ensuring that they play their part in being a good spouse and a good example of Christ's love.

    Sorry sir, but your wrong.
    You should have a relationship with God to have a good marriage.God initiated marriage.I think our defination of what we call success differs.

    • @SoilaandCurtis
      @SoilaandCurtis  Před měsícem +2

      Hello Morine. I used to think so too. Until I met unbelievers who were not even interested in God but had a level of success in their marriage. This does not mean their marriages are perfect. Some of the best books on marriage and premarital counselors are not believers. Yet their advice works because they are biblical principles.
      You can live by biblical principles without necessarily having a relationship with God and the principles will still give you a level of success.
      A Kingdom marriage, however, gives you much higher success and satisfaction than a good marriage because for a Kingdom marriage, you do need a relationship with God.
      I kindly advise that you watch the full video on our website so that you can have a more holistic perspective because there are other things we have discussed that have not been included in these first 15 minutes.

      @@SoilaandCurtisI am keen on this question as well. I haven’t got to the longer video yet, but I wanted to ask - is a marriage really successful if it is not spurring the parties to righteousness? I think defining success in marriage based on relational KPIs could be misleading. I think success in marriage is firstly and very importantly defined by whether that relationship is pointing you back to Christ because that’s why He made it.

    • @SoilaandCurtis
      @SoilaandCurtis  Před měsícem

      @@lisakuhunya2055 I hear you. If we use 1 specific criteria then we should be able to disqualify every other outcome if it is not based on that criteria.
      However, Matthew says that God makes it rain and shine on the righteous as well as the wicked. In other words, God has made his grace or goodness available to both believers and non-believers. This means that while non-believers may not experience the full effect of Godly success, there is a level of success that they are able to attain to as a result of God's grace.
      When non-believers apply Godly principles to their marriages and their marriages work, they are inadvertently proving that God's ways bring success even though they are not actively pointing people towards God.
