I stuggle to understand why was the Krejci goal disallowed when Dahlin moved the net, and some of the ref decisions altogether. Anyway, I think we played well, and Im not gonna blame the refs for the loss. I also think Sweden was better and deserved the win. Congrats to Sweden, you played a good game. On to the next one!
Because Dahlin didn't move it intentionally since he came skating home and lost his balance?
@@TheMysteriouswatcher Im not sure what are the iihf rules, but this one is from the NHL rulebook:
63.6 Awarded Goal - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal.
In order to award a goal in this situation, the goal post must have been displaced by the actions of a defending player, the puck must have been shot (or the player must be in the act of shooting) at the goal prior to the goal post being displaced, and it must be determined that the puck would have entered the net between the normal position of the goal posts.
Edit: so considering all this, I think it should have been a goal, or at least a penalty shootout. That would have been fair, imo.
@@jm8585 The whistle was blown before the puck was shot. Therefore the game play was dead. If the ref would've whistled a second later, there would have been a legal goal.
I completely agree, Sweden was a better team, they did play first two thirds better. I agree with a penalty on net moment, we should have been given the opportunity to have the penalty. The movement of the net made little difference in this case as the goal keeper wasn't obstructed by the defender, or has affected by the net movement.
Anyway, the main thing is that Sweden did play better. Czech team has to get better to deserver three points.

@@dr.animez This comment section is full of comments by Czechs (both in Czech and English) saying, that Sweden won deservedly. So I don't really know what you're talking about. Perhaps try to focus less on the few salty losers, that every country has (yours included) and pay more attention to the more sensible fans.

Bullshit. as much as I hate their arrogance, this game and tournament is not the same without Russia
when we acquired new coach to our team after the olympics, I had lot of hope that czech hockey could get medal again after long 10 years. Games before the championship were looking amazing, we beat sweden twice, including 9:3 win against them 2 weeks ago. But today it was typical czech hockey of last couple of years: terrible penalty killing, terrible defense, not so good powerplays (and also little bit of bad luck :D). Anyways congrats to Sweden, they deserved to win today and I think that they needed some big win after last WC and the olympics.

Both teams were good, but Sweden was better, atleast in first 2 periods. I'm Czech and I have to say that Im pretty dissapointed by some other Czechs reaction. Also, it's not end of a Championship yet and there will other oportunities. Anyway, Sweden, it was a good match, nice to watch 🇨🇿🇸🇪.

I wouldnt give up on Vejmelka after one game. He did one mistake. Other goals werent really his fault. Shit happens sometimes, but the whole team looked sloppy in the first two periods.

Why is it that different countries aren't able to get their national NHL players to participate in the IIHF championships year after year? Are they not allowed to by their teams or are they too tired after the NHL tournament?
Personal reasons like wanting to see your family after a long season. Injured, contract expiring, worlds is every single year which makes it not desirable to the majority. and in swedens case the coach is the problem lol

Sweden saved by luck and reefrees. Sweden is very weak in hockey (always been). same level as italy and uk. but dont worry, tournament really starts when its playoffs, groupstage is kind of useless

I'm sure they paid the referees when a Czech player elbowed Oliver Ekman Larsson in the face so hard he started bleeding right in front of a referee who proceeded to do nothing 🙂 or when two of your players start fighting with Dahlin yet he's the ONLY one who gets penalized. Yeah czechs didnt play their best but if that goal was allowed or at least a penalty, it could have been 3:4 and not 2:5. Blumel in the end scored again so it couldve been 4:4. Its bullshit.

if you hire a finnish coach, you will end up playing the 95' new jersey trap, sitting back - wasting time. when that system works, it works. but when it doesnt, its pathetic to watch and a sad display of the sport. last minutes of the game, czech sat waiting in the neutral zone, why? the last successes of finland national team, is not because of tap-tap-CCCP-hockey, but defensive and destructive hockey - with a selective forecheck. playing so, you will always be dependent on the other team to push the play, while you sit back and destroy the rhythm. something that should be rejoiced when it fails. hopefully czech will go back hiring a coach that will embrace the torpedo hockey czech is known for.

@@ariarion137 Chill out mate, Czechs didn't play that well to deserve win. It wasn't that terrible, but not good enough. Goalie really didn't help that much in this game. I'm sure he can do better and not to slide so much into the puck(which often bounces off and someone else can finish off as the goalie is still sliding off)
