Been watching IIHF since 2013, exactly when the blank period started, so seeing my home country claim a medal live is something very special. Great tournament indeed! I was 19 when we win the last medal, I am 29 now..after 10 years watching every year hockey and wishing for a medal we finally made it 🇨🇿 thanks Pastrnak for giving the spirit to the team, thanks the team, thanks Finland 🇫🇮 for Kari and cheering for us, we cheered for u in the finals and u took it too! Kari Jalonen was named as our national coach only 9 weeks ago. The work he's done in such a short period of time is nothing but incredible! I know, no Russia in the tournament, and I also know we lost against Finland, Sweden, Austria, and Canada. But the main focus should be on how our team performed today after we were 2 goals down 2 times in this game. We played as a TEAM. And that's the most important thing for me. I love how all the players hugged Kari after the medal ceremony, and the ovations he's got from the Finns. We can see how much he means to them. Kiitos Kari! :)

It's not about how many games you win, but which games you win. If you win the right games like Czechia did it will mean success
The group stage doesn’t matter, the playoffs are a completely different game. Look at Switzerland, won every single match in the group stage and then had one bad match in the quarterfinal and they’re gone.

Doufal jsem, že Finsko porazíte a budete v semifinále, protože jako fanoušek mě mj. zajímá i herní styl, ten vy máte ofenzivní a koukatelný, naopak Finsko, i přes úspěchy, řekněme, bolí z toho oči.

Slováci mají taky kvalitní holej, vždy když je derby česko vs slovensko, je to drama až do poslední vteřiny (krom roku 2021) vem si rok 2018, kdy 7 vteřin před koncem nečas srovnal na 2:2 a nebo jak jste nás kdysi porazili v semifinále... Ale bohužel chytli jste ve čtvrtfinále misty světa, s tím nešlo nic i když jste byli blízko, třeba někdy ve finále 🇨🇿🥇🇸🇰
Po bronzové medaily Váš nároďák vsadil na budování mladých talentů, měli jste na turnaji nejmladší tým pokud se nepletu. Do budoucna se to určitě vyplatí a my bychom měli udělat to samé následující mistrovství. Hlavně jste se dostali až do playoff.

After 10 long years, the Czech Republic finally broke the medal curse! Can you really describe their joy in words? It's like they won the gold medal. Maybe this is the turning point for the Czech Republic? The United States, on the other hand, should be ashamed for such poor discipline and lack of respect. What I'm trying to say is that the United States does not respect and appreciate this tournament with care, they only come here to party. Btw, a big congrats to a well-deserved bronze medal! After 10 years, 4 semifinal appearances and 4 fourth places, the drought is over. Jalonen turned this team completely around in only a few months, winning two tournaments leading up to the Worlds. Can’t wait to see his work in a year.

Complete joke again in the reffing between Canada vs Finland. The IIHF as an organization puts the worst refs possible in for every medal round game. Not talking just against Canada. Even in the Women's tournament in 2019 when Finland lost to USA on a phantom goalie interference.
The reffing in the Canada vs Finland game was so good until the third period. Then a phantom high stick that's not allowed to be challenge changed the momentum of the game. This one is not necessarily on the ref, but a faulty system. Its hard for refs to see things in real time. So why the heck are you not allowed to challenge a high stick, but allowed to challenge it when it is a double minor?
Then again later in the Period the refs couldn't even speak English and said it was "no goal" when it was "review on a challenge". Then the refs said it was "my fault, Finland didn't challenge, my mistake. So no penalty for the incorrect challenge". < Well it was your mistake on the call on the high stick also, but you chose not to review it. How come you can reverse this mistake and not the other?
It is amazing how the IIHF continues to keep up this standard of terrible reffing. Every IIHF game there is probably 4 to 5 calls that aren't penalties. Then, after one bad call, they do a make up call for the other team. And then it just changes everything in the game. That's unacceptable in playoff round games.
People will say "well if Canada didn't take dumb penalties this wouldn't have happened. In the end the better team won". YES Canada took dumb penalties. But it was the blatant missed call that changed the game. In these games you don't know who was the better team because the entire game is changed by the referees.
Then people will say "just deal with it, bad calls happen all the time". Well its that type of attitude why refs are allowed to make terrible calls year after year and get away with it. If you go by that attitude, you should never complain on any bad call. It's one thing to say refs make mistakes, they are human. But it's another thing to not allow video review on penalty calls that are game changing. That's completely on the IIHF.
Nearly every IIHF game this happens. It's a complete joke.
I think Canada would have won the final without the goalie injury. In the semi-final Finland - USA I think the Lettieri's penalty didn't make sense and decided the match.
I just recently watched the 2019 women's Finland - USA, and a Finnish knee hit the USA's goalie's head, I think it was a right call...
@@Fl4ngerr I disagree with the Finland vs USA on the Women's. Usually it would be interference. But I think because she played the puck outside the crease, and it was incidental contact going for the puck, it shouldn't have been a disallowed goal at all.
I agree Canada MIGHT have won the game without the injury. But we also MIGHT have won the game in regulation had that terrible call not been made. Regardless it just pisses me off that we have to keep talking about "might". If the IIHF would just put in systems that help the officials, we wouldn't be having half of these bad calls.
