I remember that I watched your videos when I started to learn programming in 2021. Now I have a Job and you help me a lot with your advises, thank you a lot!
Any advice on how to build projects and stay out of the Tutorial Hell and connect the concepts??? I would appreciate if you sincerely answered these questions. Thanks.
@@Sir21GoalsJust learn enough to start build something small and go from there! I usually learn enough to just be able to build a CRUD app in a language. Then, from there you should know enough syntax in that language. From there figure out how to build small features like a login page, implementing a database, improving the frontend with a CSS framework, etc. Then, eventually get to bigger projects like implementing AI into your database like what Chris is doing. Just have fun with the process!
Not using tutorials is so key as you progress in your software career. I’m learning that now. Learn by doing and building what you’re interested in. May be harder without any handholding but it does pay off. And you have a portfolio project that could impress employers. Prioritize JIT (just in time) knowledge vs JIC (just in case).
This doesn't make any sense for slow learners, you have to sit down in your spare time after work and learn and brush up the syntax and moreover, understand what to use when. You cant just "know how to use it". Especially when you first learning how to code. What hes saying is, since he already knows how to code, it still takes 2 weeks minimum yo familiarize yourself with the syntax and hes been working as a dev for 7 yrs whos learned/mastered how programming logic flow works to build a product from start to finish on live production environment and has delivered successfully for companies. You cant just say know how to do it, by doing it/using it to build projects and stuff cuz thats not fair to those learning and still in the trenches mentally of trying to understand the programming logic.
Nah bro you actually telling the truth. I'm learning dev and I can't just code a website if I don't know css and Javascript, I first have to understand the logic and the terminologies first then I can code because the tutorial made me understand the basics. I feel your pain bra, this CZcams are getting so annoying now because all of them contradict each other by saying different thing, Now you don't even know who to trust anymore that's why I'm stopping CZcams bra because I don't know if it's just me because these CZcamsrs are starting to say shit just to rack up the views without even fact checking there information
How you doing by the way @Blake tedkord Good luck on your journey on being one of the best dev developers out there. Just remember this , God is with you, he is always watching you to make sure you are 👍
Congrats Sean! Been following your journey since 2017. You've been a huge inspiration in my journey as a developer. I would love to see an in depth guide covering the full skill stack needed to get a job like yours that is more backend and ai based!
You’re very right, I definitely learn better when I build projects. Tutorials are just useful to me in that I learn that certain concepts exist and I can use them to build stuff.
Hell yea bro congratulations on the new job bro I been watching you for over 4 years and you have inspired me and motivated me to get into Java script programming so I’m going to do a certification course through Grand Canyon university and then since it’s through my work comp they help me with job placement but if you have any ideas and or suggestions please holla at me bro ! Aloha
Started learning with tutorials for .js ... but will follow your advice when learning Python. I think Sam Altman once said something about resilience... i think you got that 🔥 Thanks for sharing!
Not judging you but daym the US is crazy, 4 years frontend experience and getting $250k. I'm at 10 years experience in the UK and just managed to push over £100k. US salaries are something else
@@cgh2467 cost of living here is insane too. :( My bills alone are $6,500 and that’s living below my means. Before my new job my bills went up to $8,500 (health insurance was $2,000/m) which meant that I needed to make 10k minimum to survive before taxes. My full time job pays me $11,000/m after taxes and that’s including after maxing out my 401k ($1,916/m) and $1,000/m for health benefits at work. If I didn’t invest it would be $12,000/m.
Only 120k a year. F U. lol I’m having a hard time finding a 60k-70k job that I don’t feel miserable in. I got laid off in summer 2023 after being there for 8 years. Every job I’ve gotten since then is either comfortable but pays too low or pays 60-70k but is too physical for my liking.
@@drblitz3092 sorry to hear that bud. I had a physical job flipping carpets for Bloomingdale’s for only $12/hr in Las Vegas. Never going back to that again.
I've started and stopped learning how to code for the last two years. I feel overwhlemed and very depressed. I really need a better job. I'm sort of desperate at the moment.
good for you and your family and your mariage bro :D damn everybody is laid off these days. I am learning and build a new app from scratch and soon I will push it to the playstore ( a SAAS ) . I am basically trying to do what you did. learning also the backend . i saw all of your video and now iam studying css now and all i miss is time and i wish if u can guide me bc i need you so bad i need your All your guidanceand im studying front end devi /////and if there is anyone wanna study withme just can replay me❤❤❤❤❤❤
Haha. And lots of jobs require some knowledge of web dev. I feel like backend can get very complicated and there are jobs where you have to write multithreaded code (I had an interview for a LLC company that had project where you worked on codebase which involved working with threads). Also there are different types of backend it seems. I think the backend jobs are in higher demand and have way less candidates compared to front end ones? Idk just my 2 cents
Tech is a joke. 600 applications with 10 yrs exp, 3 interviews. Small companies giving interviews so difficult you'd think i was applying for faang. Eff Tech.
Save your money and if you have enough invest in something clever while you still have some time. AI will takeover everything, coders will be in no demand very soon. The best solution if there is a chance is to land a job under government umbrella, easiest IT jobs to do, secured for life. Best of luck.

I got layoff last week. It’s a prompt one. It came a surprise to me.
Thank you for ALWAYS inspiring me with your videos.
What projects did you build and how complex were they? I’m surprised with your experience, building projects still helped
Did you do leetcode questions for the interviews? And system design ?
this guy probably passed all his interviews, but the problem was the salary expectations, not that he could pass the interview

You’re so right ..! I also quit the tutorials and started building..!
Game changer in the thinking process ..!
Brooo you look so slim! Way to go 👌🏽
Thank you < 3
Thanks for the video Sean. I am a big fan of your Chanel. I have a question. What stack are you working on at your new job?
Big congrsts!

FU? Why being so toxic over someone success? You have a lot to learn from him. Keep it respectful or this will hit you back in life.
I was in same situation but I have two words for you. Digital marketing
Congrats man
The work life after 9 months, how does it feel.. a small vlog maybe
Love the vids man❤
Congrats on your new role Chris!
Hey did you continue with your web dev agency as well?
Thanks! I have a DevRel agency that pays me more than what I make in tech. So I'm very fortunate lol.

Congratulations 🎊🎉🎈🍾
Thank you so much man ❤
If a guy with 160k plus subs and a library of knowledge took 9 months imagine the rest of us
I’m looking for senior roles not junior roles and rejected 2 job offers
Also I was only casually looking. I didn’t really put in effort until 7-9 months in.
Congrats dude🎉
well, do not forget to mention that u have to go through leetcode and system design. Learning just language and database alone is not enough
Congrats on your new job!
whats the new job?!? when do we hear about that? Also, do you have any Interviews coming up on the Podcast channel?
Hey Sean, Congrats on finding a job. Real quick, what’s your opinion on Bootstrap over scss?

Thoughts on Locofy AI for frontend developers?
Brother Chris, do you have a training program or endorse one? I noticed ZTM. Is there anywhere else?
Can you maybe make a video detailing some of the more popular AI tools to learn or that some of these companies are requiring people to use?
Congratulations 🎉
Can you do some videos involving Devops
- Can you help me - figuring how to share a hyperlink that looks more friendly-? That domain format is not helping me to grow ⚡🏹⚔️
I've watched your videos about JavaScript
So is always posible, you just don't know when?
Congratulations. If you do it I could as well
smartest thing is to prepare for when you eventually get laid off
Yup. Buying a cheap house in cash within the next 2 years so we never have to worry about rent.

Why not have this mindset concerning tutorials:
"Use tutorials to get you started. But use tinkering and projects to round off your skills"
What kind of questions did they ask in the Interviews?
I have a wife and two kids and I’m looking into changing careers as a web developer. How can I gain experience to put on my resume? Thank you in advance
Freelancing. Go to a local business/ person wherever I’m your city and ask if they would need a website. That counts as experience.
Well I think we know where you work now 😂 Congrats!
FAANG 😊
Hey Chris, do you do career consultation calls by any chance?
Which job offer did you choose?
The one paying $220,000/yr.
Nice! Congrats my man. Keep going up 🚀🚀🚀
So you work as a fullstack software developer at a ai Company?
