Here's the new demon king reincarnation stupid anime. This is my review of the anime okay seriously, it's also known as maō gakuin no futekigōsha. i just realized right now this isn't an isekai lmao god this anime is generic, that's like the one thing it's missing. @@timestate9718 I sometimes get confused at how they play it straight and then I remember that the MC is a month old and literally doesn't die when killed.
It’s great because it leans into it. It’s not overly serious. Sure, there’s a conspiracy to steal Anos’ title, but all the flexes are always played up for laughs. Like, “I’m the Demon King because I’m me.” That’s such an arrogant, Archer Gilgamesh thing to say that you can’t not laugh at it, even if you’ve never seen the Gilded Asshole himself. For me personally, I had expected him to say something about his bonds or the faith others put in him, y’know, typical shounen ‘source of strength’ stuff. Not to give Gilgamesh a run for his money in outrageous arrogance. Sorry, it’s been over a month, and I still can’t get over how much I love that line, so I wrote a full paragraph. 😅
I've seen a lot of animes with powerful mc flexing his godlike power that's why I'm tired of watching the same concept over and over again

I love the scenes with Anos parents. Them acting like this Giga-Chad, ancient badass from beyond time is their wittle baby boy, being loving supportive parents while Anos just chills is hilarious. It's just an inherently funny idea that works way better than most other "comic relief" character schticks I've seen in anime.
And despite how dumb the writing is Anos' schtick is just well executed. He's literally just an overpowered character who's always right about everything, but you're there for it. I say well done to that.
I love our sweet baby, such a lil sweetheart! (The baby is Bartholomew the Immortal One)
He enjoys it because it was something he never experienced before. It's why he's so protective of his parents too. And to note, his parents in the modern day, are the same ones he had in the Mythical Age. They reincarnated too.
At the end of it all. I never really understood whether Anos' parents knew he was the Ancient demon king or not.

Thing with isekai is that power fantasies are extra prevalent, which just makes them devolve into the same cash grab garbage after the first couple episodes when the premise/hook becomes irrelevant. The whole genre has just become the fast food of anime. You hear people say "Yeah, it's an isekai, but it's actually pretty good" like they know how just being that genre leaves a black mark on the show. 99% of "good isekai shows" are good because they stray away from the tropes instead of embracing them.

Ever read garbage hero or Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells? Those are what I consider good isekai (like how why would a god not intervene when the world is in danger and how people don’t care about the aftermath)

though the dialogue is a bit stiff in places, the overall story and action sequences more than make up for it. There's a fair bit of character development in it too, especially for Sasha and Misha.

The overreaction of Anos' parents is explained in the show. That they almost lost him. So, they're basically looking at him with rose colored glasses.
I love this anime way more than I should. Anos by himself carries it SO hard. The man produced one of the most legendary anime quotes of all time, asking THE GOD OF TIME "Did you think killing me would be enough to make me die?" after having a giant scythe pierce his heart and erase his soul from existence.

I thinks, the greatest strength of this anime is its awareness of this fact. The show knows its stupid and doesn't pretend it isnt. And we dont have this feeling of fake "i am good mask". This anime is like you old friend who is just vibing and saying "hey, man, long time no see huh, wanna do this ridiculously stupid thing together?" And cannot say no
Legit. I can say i watch this show for its plot because the plot is funny to watch even though its shit. Its just enjoyable. No other words can accurately describe it. Is it good? No not at all. Its just a fun experience as long as you dont go in thinking it's a show that actually tries to be good.

Actually that dude was already making fun of them before the match. And Anos unknowingly talked to the girl who was hated by may people she encountered because she wasnt a full demon. I think people misinterpret the "see you later" as just a casual thing but for someone who gets bullied and always lives alone their whole lives, it gives them hope that someone out there actually enjoyed their company and wants to talk to them again. And people misinterpret that Misha loves him already when she was just happy she finally get to have a real friend.
Literally Adolf Hitler is fully capable of sending you a letter after exchanging a few words with him and now whether that's a ticket to the camp I'm not sure but you get my point.

When I watched this anime, it instantly became my most favorite anime and I saw it as a comedy with a very awesome MC because I'm tired of weak MC's and when I saw the comments, I realized I'm probably the only one who loves this anime.
I usually dislike OP MC (one who started weak then after just one season they instantly bulldozed every fight one-sidedly).
But on Anos case... It was just so broken that I couldn't even complain about the lack of tension and real fight. I love arrogant yet kind characters like Anos, Izayoi (Mondai tachi), etc
I treat it like OPM and I think that is how it should be treated, a Power Fantasy just being a power fantasy.

So he's the first person who's actually noticed that she exists and _did_ done something for her -- ignoring the society's "there's no one at all there" rule.

Also I can understand that it is mentioned that their child nearly died so they prayed and said what ever the kid is its fine as long as he lives.
And since he grew this large in one month they know that their prayer was answered.
So it makes sense for them to be really over the top and energetic. Their 1 Month old child, whom miraculously surrvived is now having 2 girlfriends.

Probably the reason why so many liked it (me included) it's the fact that is so straightfoward, Anos is a literal walking Flex over everyone else, that's it. The character is OP, always cool af and an absolute Chad. He doesn't act all shy around girls, is confident and doesn't try to hide his identity or his powers and goes with the "let's try live a normal life" shit, he goes around basically saying: "I'm actually the Demon King, I've returned, bow down". With so many stories filled with shit MCs which end up being carried by side characters, this one feels fresh; it's not amazing and unique, but it's nice and worth to follow.
Basically:
Anos is an ACTIVE OP MC, HE PUSHES the plot around...
95% of other OP MCs are PASSIVE OP MCs, they're OP, but they HARDLY make the plot move, rather the plot itself moves them (e.g: Smartphone Isekai, OPM (Saitama, he just reacts to his environment and the others actions, he's passive, the story succeeds because it's a parody), Death March...).
I am very glad this anime isn't that old.. yes straightforward is a perfect word for it he is a badass
I'd more so put this anime in the same ballpark as a Raimi movie. They're meant to be dumb absurd/surreal fun spins on their respective genres. With the events that happen, the lore, the dialogue and deadpan delivery, it feels like the original author, and the show producers/director asked themselves at every point "What would be stupidest way to resolve this?" and "How can we turn this into a pisstake of X trope?".

i agree with everything you said and its the absurdity that keeps me coming back. however this new season is so out of bounds ive had no clue whats going on with the insane time travel shenanigan's going on. YET!!! the whole doppelganger thing at the end of the time travel still made sense in this shows own way.
Honestly I feel the mistfit of the demon king is underrated, its so stupid like everyone says, but thats what makes it all the more enjoyable, just wish it would get noticed more

The Author seems to KNOW how to actually write and the story is cohesive and use details and information/clues to lead the reader.
That alone makes for quite the BETTER quality of this series, the WN/LN is a decent read, the Manga is also decent enough, the Anime is rushed in the narrative speed, but from the entire package, it delivers the plot with barely any important plot points missing or poorly explained.
Overall, i would rate it a 6-6.5/10, enjoyable, consistent (Narrative and worldbuilding) and works because it does something that works for both Parody and typical plots: Camp (check TV tropes website to see what it means)

This is the type of anime I enjoy watching. Its not necessarily good, but the anime doesn’t establish it as such, it doesn’t take itself serious and thats makes scenes like Misha meeting Anos’ parents funny, because you know its not being serious about it all
It's a satire anime. It takes the common tropes of this type of anime and blows them up into compete ridiculousness. And it's awesome. :p op main character? Let's make him the most op ever. Easily defeating his enemies? Let's make even death a minor inconvenience for him. Girls flock to the mc? Let's make even a tsundere fall for him almost instantly. Parents weirdly accept their underage kids bringing home underage wives? Let's make him technically a month old and bring home first one, and then two waifus and have the parents not just accept it but be jealous and encouraging. Etc.
It's neither. It's just a bad show through and through.

(This is in late 2022) The thing about this anime is that it is great exactly because it is ridiculously stupide and over the top. I love it and I am extremely hyped for the season 2 that's comming out soon
