  • Fud Leclerc performing "Ton Nom" ("Your Name"), the Belgian entry at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest.
Fud's 4th appearance at the contest (weren't there any other singers in French-speaking Belgium back then?) would also be an undignified last one, since this song has the dubious honor of being among that year's bunch of entries which scored the contest's first-ever "nul points" - no less than four of them, actually (although this has a lot to do with a new voting system that was implemented that year). Anyway, this is not such a bad song as this outcome suggests - in fact, I find the orchestration to be quite interesting - but it's not that special either, IMO...

I must admit I'm not very much into early 60's ESC, but this song really stands out. A very interesting orchestration and Fud Leclerc gave a really good and powerful performance! A very underseving null-pointer.

Do keep them coming, Tasos, as this era of the contest is a vast grey zone after the demise of Sims.

ESC 1962... the year that mark the first ever nul-points, 4 of them in fact, but this one didn't deserve a nul points

I haven't heard of him ever, but I'm from the Dutch-speaking part of the country. Might be different in the south.

I like it. He has a nice voice, and he uses it. Perhaps the other countries were just sick of Leclerc.

Spain and Netherlands were both creepy to some extent and Austria had so many high notes that it was painful.
Belgium, on the other hand, was an interesting ballad and didn't deserve nul points
