- Isabelle Aubret performing "Un Premier Amour" ("A First Love"), the French entry at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest.
France's 3rd win in 5 years may sound too much. but this entry simply deserved it hands down! Although I personally prefer the studio version, whose sparer, subtler arrangement gets more under your skin, this is still a magical, entrancing melody beautifully sung by Isabelle, who really magnetizes the camera. Six years later, in 1968, she'd return to the contest with another ESC classic, "La Source", which came quite close to giving her a 2nd victory (in eventually ranked 3rd). - Hudba
I can’t believe she was only 23 here!!! She looks so mature!!!
This is good. Really good.
Glad I found it.
Gosh, she was beautiful. Like a Bond girl!
The music sounds like from a Bond movie too
Her name is Isabelle Aubret.
I love this Song!!!!
Isabelle Aubret have AmazingAmazing Talent!!!!♡♥♡♥♡
I LOVE THIS LYRICS!!!!!!!!
True Winner!!!!!!!!
i love the song
Merveilleuse Isabelle Aubret !
Une voix unique ! 💎
💕❤️👏👌👍
2022 😊 still here
For me the best song that ever won. I can’t help it. It’s so beautiful, romantic, I am in love.❤❤❤
Just pure perfection
My God she is beautiful
The song is so suited to Isabelle's voice and when it becomes familiar gains a sort of sultry sexiness. IMO that's why it's perfect for live performance with an orchestra and she so looks the part when performing it. She gives it an edge and an atmosphere which is absent in the studio version. IMO!
This song proves that the song contest also produces quality and not simply cringy, camp pulp;a belief that that the media in the UK encourages and dictates .This conditions people in the UKs perception of the contest.Aubret was a great French artist of the 60s ;Her career reflecting the social changes in France at the time
What an beautiful voice!!!
Trés belle!
Thank you for this, my friend. A very professional, mystical ballad. Isabelle really had this song in the palm of her hand from the first note. "La source" is still my favourites but I nonetheless like this song a lot, and say it was an easy and deserving winner.
old comment :)

Ooh La La ♥
Es bellísima la canción. La cantante es maravillosa.
the best song that year deserved to win
Canción acertada, una balada muy actual para 1962¡
nice violine melody in the background, so missing to day.
bellissima canzone !
It was a time when Eurovision was about music.
You're totally right!
+Nuria Bello Oh, yes, unfortunately I`m right :(
+Глеб Харюшин best comment.
Глеб Харюшин yes. Now its just dubstepish shit without music
It's modernized and it had to. It accurately reflects the worlds era it's in.
Sublime !
As Eurovision winners go, this one's actually pretty good.

First love Will never forget
It is still looking In other loves
His whole life is chasing
It disturbed us and dream and shakes
But the child who is the child we stayed
still shudder at the memory of that love
And you, and you I loved
What have you done to you, what did you do without me
And I, I've lost you, what have I done more
What have I done so much happiness
We also knew
Do that first love is never forgotten
Like it always seeks In other loves
His whole life is chasing
Of all those kisses that was stolen
More than given These innocent gestures
We pledged for so long
No children while we were yet
Did not suspect they were so amazed
A first love, their first love,
Was so strong
Magnifique
1938-The Present
This song was never going to be one of my favourites from 62 or amongst the winners. And I like La Source much more. But Tasos, I think this live performance exceeds tremendously the studio version.
"Le premier amour était si fort". Tout à fait raison.
Of course it's a matter of opinion (which makes these chats all the more interesting). And may I say how very perceptive of you about a core of my ESC tastes - French type ballads. I first heard this song on a LP of ESC winners back in the early 80s and thought it, Nous Les Amoureaux & Dansevise to be uninteresting compare to many other years
❤👌🎼
Very Bond-ish.
Áine yes and second from 1956 is James Bondish too
Well, it's all a matter of opinion, isn't it? Maybe it's the fact that the studio version was the first one I heard that makes me prefer its more subtle touch - not, of course, that there's anything wrong with Francj Purcel's live arrangement or, even more so, with Isabelle's performance! And, btw, based on what I perceive your taste to be, I'd have thought you'd like this much more than you do.
🔥🌞🌜💫
Is she still alive?
Yes !
Roland Valade musique Ciclaude V
Huh! Georgina Verbaan!
who was this singer?
I think she was an angel!
Her name is Isabelle Aubret, she also participated in 1968 with a song called "la source" and came in 3rd that year.
@@surprisedadrianlol Laurence DEWITTE 😉😂😂😂😂
?????
oh
C est pourtant vai
How nice was the music in that world, it really was delivered by the muses, not as here today the electronic noises delivered by some crap algorithms.
I still think Nous Les Amoureaux to be the least inspiring winner from all the early years (&longer, but I have learnt more of the subtlety of the other 2. Yes Un Premier Amour should be in the class of songs I like, but have always thought the melody a bit monotonous, but has grown on me with time.
All the participates speak french... Suisse, France, Belgium, Mónaco, Luxenbourg.. so nobody surprise she win... jajajajaaa...
much prefer the string heavy studio version without that annoying latin arrangement
That "premier amour" and the other repeated parts make it my third most hated Eurovision song behind Austria's winners...
What makes you hate Udo jürgens merci cherie
how dare you say that!🤬🤬🤬🤬
