Every time a fighter throws a lot of punches in a fight with Floyd everybody assumes they won the fight, but its not how much you throw, its about how much you land clean. We all know Floyd is very hard to hit, its why he usually leaves the ring unscratched in almost every match. This man needs to go back and lose a fight so that some people can be at peace in their minds lol.
I think the bigger point is when a fighter throws a 100 punches in a round and another fighter throws 5 that does no damage, the fighter that’s actually trying to make the fight should win the round.
Now, I believe Floyd won the Castillo boxing match. He got his ass kicked, but on a round per round basis I believe Floyd won. But I do believe he lost the first Maidana fight. Just my opinion.
@@bandit7498 I respect you opinion but if so i guess all fighters would just go in the ring and throw as much punches as they can to win a fight, then anybody can be a boxer. I know we want the entertainment and thats ok but the fighters have to bring more to the fight than wild hands and emotions, they have to show skill in defence, self control, ring control etc boxing have to be more than Quantity of punches, and personally i prefer Quality over Quantity.
@@Musicdiamondsongs I get it. I’m just saying defense doesn’t (or shouldn’t) win fights if you’re not throwing punches. There’s the old myth that Willie Pep once told his corner before the bell rang he was going to go out and win a round without throwing a punch, then proceeded to do so. This of course did not really happen. It was just a testament to how great a defensive fighter Pep was. My point is if I’m scoring a round and one guy comes out and throws 80 punches in a round and the other guy throws zero, whether he lands or not he’s winning the round because he pressed the fight.
Bernard Hopkins lost rounds that way. He was a great defensive fighter, but would often sit back and not throw punches till the later rounds. Hopkins was never the draw that Floyd was, so Hopkins rarely got the benefit of the doubt in those rounds. The latter half of the fight B Hop would beat the shit out of a guy and you’re thinking he took the fight easy. Then the scores would read a lot closer than you’d expect. Floyd rarely had that problem because of the politics involved. But turn the volume off and go back and watch the first Maidana fight sometime. You might be surprised.
@@bandit7498 Sorry but i have to ask about the politics you and so many others speak of in relation to Mayweather. Floyd is not much of anyones favourite, I would go as far as saying he was the most hated fighter in Boxing, Especially by a lot of the officials and most Referees in my View, So explain that to me if you may. However where not throwing punches are concern i can't totally agree with that, Floyd hardly ever takes a clean punch and not Counter it or make sure he gets back all those points at the end of that same round or at the start of the next round. I don't know anyone else who can counter as well as he did. And do they score punches that were defended or Only those that are clean? I will take another look at the fight though.
@@bandit7498 😆
A student of the game will understand and appreciate Floyds boxing skills
This isn't forgotten it's brought up everytime Mayweather's record is discussed.
There are plenty of blemishes that we can highlight regarding Floyd´s so call record. His elbows are one thng, the castillo fight, and also that EASY and guaranteed win vs Mcgregor. His record at best should read 49n 0 , and at worse 48 n 1... because the Mcregor fight was really an exhibition bout ... IT WAS NOT 2 PROFESIONAL CARREER BOXERS trying to improve their boxing record legitimately because they wanted to move up in the ranks hoping to get another win to become legitimate cintenders n the hopes of wining a championship. The premise of the Floyd vs Mcgregor fight was to see if the ''best'' boxer of the time could beat the best MMA fighet of the time.... NOT best boxer vs the best boxer.... A good example of the best vs the best today would be a Bivol vs Beatrieve. A Biv vs Beav would be a true best boxer vs best boxer fight between 2 real profesional and legit boxers who have a lot to win and lose in the outcome of their match. Once again, the Floyd vs Conor fight was a true exhibition bout between a pro boxer and an MMA fighterr moonlighting as a ''pro'' boxer.

So, here's the thing about fighting the champ: You have to beat the champ. I don't remember Castillo or Mayweather getting the definitive upper hand. I will need to re-watch this one to find something I didn't see before.
EXACTLY.
You don't have to rewatch it, you gave the best analysis. You have to beat the champ. Depending who's watching you could've went either way which is why I agree with the outcome. I'm a Mayweather fan and the most I would've gave is a draw.
@@grindhard4312 Thanks!
Maidana gave Floyd a beating on their first fight. Floyd look terrible after the beating. Then his Judges help him out.
@@normanguzman417 Floyd may have looked bad, but there still was no clearly defined winner there. And, as previously stated, you have to BEAT the champ to get the belt.
Its amazing watching this boxing wizard. He created the perfect style of boxing. Took the first rule of hit and dont be hit and turned it to 11. An absolute master of his craft and will probably never see someone with that skill and talent again.
@@freezinboxing or Maidana. But i still believe Floyd won both. Delahoya did well against Floyd. Until Floyd made adjustments and pulled ahead. Floyd has been in some wars. 49-0,, i dont consider McGregor at all. He is not a boxer and no match for Floyd in the slightest way. That 50th is garbage.
I did all that in my street fights none of it was recorded though
@@freezinboxing watch the second half of that fight again what Floyd did wa took his style and adapted
Shakur
@@benhahn8065 I think Shakur is the closest one to the hit and not get hit method that I do feel that Floyd semi perfected because of course you will be hit in the ring but with that being said I do feel Floyd was more aggressive and had a higher work rate than Shakur which is why I still say Floyd was the best with the method of hitting and not being hit!
One thing you have to remember is judges know the rules
The next is that they score for 1. Clean effective punching, 2. Defense, 3. Effective aggression, 4. ring generalship
We can't say Castillo had the better defense, that's just a given for this one. Ring generalship you have to look at their styles but also at the first 2 scoring criteria. Castillo is aggressive, and Floyd fights on the back foot so it makes it a little difficult to see who's controlling the fight.. Castillo was more aggressive, but it wasn't really effective because he didn't land clean shots and Floyd would fire back with counters. Castillo also did a lot of holding and hitting which isn't allowed so judges wouldn't score for that because as mentioned above, they know the rules.
They don't score fights based on who landed more punches unless 1 guy lands nothing or their punches are highly insignificant
Awesome explanation....couldn't have said it better!!!👍
@@dacedruss 🤦🏾♂️😭😭😭😭😭 tell me you didn’t watch zab vs Floyd without saying it
By effecting aggression is that when they’re clenching? Can you explain. It feels very similar to the gist point
Lol did you watch the fight??? Why should Floyd be DQ when Zab is the one that hit mayweather with a low blow??? Do you even watch Boxing??
Judges know the rules don't mean they have to go by them Lol 😜
17:55 floyd was not the first fighter to reach 50-0. Julio Cesar Chavez was 87-0
He kept 50 and 0 Also. There were fighters from the 1940s that had a huge records before they lost. Also Chavez did not retire 87 and 0. A lot of those 87 fighters are people we've never heard of but they were also a lot of people that he fought that we did. One of the greatest to ever do it I will agree both of those guys Mayweather and Chavez
Ever see the show weakest link? You had to bank the money or the amount you made it to won't count if you get the next answer wrong.
What's the farthest you can go and then LEAVE with a perfect record. Then what was the caliber of opponents in that perfect record.

@King K. Rool please name me 5 great fighters Chavez beat in that run……..
He would beat Julio easy meldric Taylor beat him and got robbed by the ref and osacar beat the shit out of him

Won not loss
If you noticed they didn’t score a lot of his scoring punches but with the other guy they were itching to give him any points they could, it was setup from the beginning they didn’t wanna give USA the win
Yes, JC Chavez started his career 87-0 before getting a draw with Whitaker. Willie Pep started his career 62-0. Jimmy Wilde started 93-0-1. Ex WBC champ Chayaphon Moonsri started his career 54-0 before losing, but that was after Floyd. All amazing boxers.

The fight that Floyd Maywearther lost for sure was the Oscar De La Hoya fight.
Oscar out pointed Floyd in that fight. Even Floyd Sr said if you go by points then Oscar won the fight. Positive and negative, it's going to help me grow. Merry Christmas to you all and have a blessed happy new year!
I'm a Floyd $ fan, have been his whole career and won alot of money thanks to him... with that being said. Honestly I watch the fight probably five times and I can see the argument clearly. I would say it was the closest fight he ever had. I honestly thought that he did not do enough to win the fight and I do not think that he lost a fight hence a draw. Second fight different story completely

Well the judges is all that matter and they obviously didn’t agree with what you say you seen so gtfoh with yo foolishness. Your not a Floyd fan, your a fair weather fan! I bet if I ask your closest friends and family they’ll tell me the real truth on who you were going for on all his fights. Floyd clearly won that fight, dude was trying to fight dirty the whole time and the ref kept catching him and taking points and that’s how I know you didn’t truly watch that fight no 5 times so please stop kapping! The ref and the judges do this for a living right there in and at ringside made the right judgement so you a fake plant and you need to stop it because you can fool, some of the people, some of the time, but you can’t fool, all of the people, all of the time, quite frankly I see through your bullish! 😂😂

Close fight but he won that one Mayweather punches was more cleaner
I had it very close and I ve watched the fight many times . One time I had it a draw the other I had Castillo and the other I had Mayweather. After watching it many times I had Castillo winning really close having in mind that Castillo was the champion so he should be favoured with a split desicion . But even if that's the case the second fight they fought Mayweather make it look very easy so basically even if he lost he still beat everyone he fought . That's my opinion

What more hurts his career is that in later years it was a lot of rumors of illegal substance usage. We saw in clear day-light an example of unfair sports in the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Mayweather Jr needed it injected in his fists. Pacquiao neede it for his unheathy shoulders at the time.

Maidana again is clearly not on Floyd's level he like a lot of guys just try to rough Floyd up to hopefully catch him with a wild punch. Floyd is just to experience and skilled for that. Pacquiao lost clearly and that fight should have happened sooner but Pacquiao couldn't get off the drugs.
@@derwinjohnson8174 Yeah, Floyd clearly tells Roger his shoulder was hurting in the first few rounds, healthy Floyd wins convincingly every time… Oscar did say he thought he won tho, that’s why he wanted the rematch but he also said Floyd is TBE… Robert Garcia even admitted Maidana lost, & u know it’s hate when they say MANNY won 🤣
@@derwinjohnson8174 - Yeah that shoulder part. It is possibly very likley why je lost but bstill he lost regardless of how better he was in the rematch. Castillo out-punched him.
Oscar De La Hoya have many times expressed how he felt he won and that is why he have chased a rematch for so long, heck even now when he is old and done he thinks he can do it but that is just silly.
Maidana was a swarmer boxer true, but it worked as it made it difficult for Floyd to do anything and Maidana won on slight margin for effort in lack of quality.
The Pacquaio match was a robbery. Floyd was nervous as heck for fighting him, more so then Pacquiao to face him. A lot of boxers and trainers who saw that fight felt Pacquiao was robbed out of a victory. The least a draw but no loss.
Despite a poor shoulder he still landed the better shots and more while Floyd near touched him..
Man get the fuck out of here you don’t know how to score a fight 😂
Lay off the Crack 🤣
Costillo had points taken away and he almost got disqualified with late hits
His face said it all..
The only robbery in this video was the 96 Olympics.
TRUTH
i remember that fight, Castillo out punch him it was close but to me Mayweather lost. If not should've been a draw
Me too, this was the fight I started to lose trust in the organization.
8 out of the 12 rounds. I use to box also so I have a history of knowledge about scoring. He landed the more effective punches. Plus he had a torn rotator cup in his left arm.
I have fought guys more than once in my past. If I beat them the first time , the preceding times were a lot easier. History tells the truth so if Castillo beat him the first time like y'all say. Well the 2nd fight should've been a walk in the park. Castillo was outclassed both times...
Try watching and scoring it without the racist, bias commentary. He won
One thing that never came out was that chicanito was fighting whith a bad hand maybe broken
How was the win over Diego Corrales controversial? 11:21
He didn't lose it was close because Floyd had a broken hand. Not to mention no tuneup but straight to 135 from 130.
Floyd was in his prime against a old mexican
That doesn’t matter, we don’t say Floyd didn’t beat pacquaio because pacquaio had a injured shoulder
@@imadeyoureadthis1500 well that injury is questionable
Keep that energy when others are hurt during fights starting with Manny's shoulder which he also got surgery on. Nobody gave him that excuse
@@imadeyoureadthis1500 'Xactly
I watched this fight 3 times and there were a lot of close rounds that could’ve went either way. It could’ve even been a draw. Hard for me to judge.
How come the second fight is not talked about? Why was he able almost able to make Castillio quit in the second fight? What changed so drastically from the first fight to the second?
But who has he beat. Only up and coming fighters and people out of there prime. He has been truly been totally lucky.
🤣🤣🤣 yeah right gtfoh
The one voice he cannot ignore is his own. It probably troubles him every night in the wee small hours. He knows he lost that fight.
I’m sure he’s sleeping well enjoying the fruits of his hard work, knowing the difficulties he faced growing up. You, on the other hand, are having nightmares that Floyd was “gifted” a decision 😂
@@tmajec
Ok Senior! 🤣
Damn near every fighter especially elite has wins that could’ve/should’ve gone the other way, Ali did NOT beat Ken Norton in ANY of those fights
Floyd is the best boxer ever. When you compare his resumes, weight classes and belts nobody compares to him. NOT EVEN ALI.
thats true but,he did loose to castillo
😂😂😂
*whew!* I needed that.
As in boxing skills, yeah he is even greater than Ali, but as in Legacy in out of the ring Ali wins hands down. Ali was 6’3 moving like a lightweight which shows how hard he trained.
It’s true tho
89 wins 1 draw out of 90 fights he had bro👌🏻
who
Julio?
Its amazing when you are TBE how hatters, pick your closest fights to try and discredit you, because you have beaten up everyone he fought, you have nothing else to question but good close fights 😂😂🤣 you have to be great to leave these types of arguments..
First fighter 50-0 no chavez was 87-0 before he lost mayweather is amazing but you got that way wrong
He meant first to retire with 50-0
Chavez Sr was 89-0 before he lost to Frankie Randall
@@qward2174 thanks for correcting me
@@qward2174 Frankie Randle As Well As Pernell Whitaker Who Was "ROBBED". It Was Blatantly Obvious...Go And Watch It If You Don't Remember Or We're Too Young. It Doesn't Diminish The Greatness Of Chavez Sr By Any Means. He Lost To Whitaker Convincingly 👌🏿.
People Talk About Chavez, Mayweather, Marciano Etc. Archie Moore Had Almost As Many Knockouts As All Three Of The Aforementioned Had Fights (141 KO'S) 👊🏿.
Now how about a vid on the gift decision Castillo got against Johnston not too long before this one. Crickets...
Was? He still is!! That’s why he takes on these chumps for money grabs. He still needs a target and something to focus on.. he is true legend and champion and dedication to grind is something that people look over
Boxing is a science, and only the great one find the chemistry to be great at it, he's just that science
The best ever
Two Judges scored the fight 115-111, One scored it 116-111. And the Associated Press had it 115-111. Only HBO had him losing and the viewers were swayed by this. And notice the crowd didnt even boo.
Mayweather’s record will ALWAYS be 49-1 to me. I saw that Castillo fight Live on TV when it happened. There’s NO WAY he won that fight and the crowd, broadcasters, and people at home all knew he lost that fight. Boxing as a sport was tainted that day, and it’s only right people started questioning the authenticity of boxing/judging because of that fight.
Can ask for the guy that made this video we're not watching the same fight you know nothing about boxing either you just like to see great fights that have more aggression a lot of punches thrown but that's not that man's style and his style took into 50 and all so hate it or love it he's an amazing pound of puncher and he knows how to get the hell out of the way he knows how to make you look bad in front of your judges
It was a close fight I remember watching it I thought they were going to give it to Castillo
He used a lot of duty boxing that was call fantastic
It's pitiful when a caption puts a False and bogus one loss on Mayweathers boxing record just because they dont like him because he undefeated .
Pro never lost
Other Questionable bout?
Maidana vs Mayweather
Pacquiao vs Mayweather.
retire from youtube. stop watching boxing
They did not show the right highlights of the fight and when Floyd went down it was actually a knock down
Only has been Knockdown once technically was against Agustin, when he hurt his left hand and drop it down on the ground, then the fight with Zab Juda, he went down but was rule a slip. So he technically has been technically knocked once in hus carrer, but he never ever had his bank on the ground Knockdown or knees or any major looking knockdown.
