One of the most beautiful car's ever. Especially from that era.
I agree. The body line that forms the "V" in the back always caught my eye and is a nice design. Beautiful car!
Best year of the late great years 1958-1964
I'm not a Chevy guy but bubble tops rule.
Great job. I agree with staying with 348 and so much more original. Patience paid off.
Lovely restoration. So nice to see it back to near factory and not have an engine/trans/frame/wheels swap. Well done that man!
100% agree. I restored three cars, and every one was returned to factory, bone-stock condition.
Exactly, bring them back to factory original. These "resto-frog" over customized cars ruin the character of the vehicle.
Stunning ! Beautiful job . Well done. Oh , if we only had cars like this again.
That's a breath of fresh air after seeing what they do to those cars today, no giant wheels not dragging the ground and the 348 is sweet.great job.
I REMEMBER THAT SONG..."DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW IN A RUSTY CHEVROLET..."❣️🤭
A lot of hard work, skill and patience helped create this factory looking ride. Wow. Original looking as it should be, hubcaps and all. Love it. 👍🙌
All car guys and girls know that by '61, the Bel Air has become second tier behind the Impala (starting in '58) and that makes this car even more special! Three on the column
with a 348! Outstanding job on a car deserving only the best!
Thank goodness. I was afraid you were going to slam it to the ground and put some monster engine in it. I think the 61 chevy was the most beautiful car of its era and beyond. I had a 61 convertible back in the day. Great work. Totally love it.
The Chevy is nice, but the ‘61 Pontiac Ventura bubble-top is at the top of my list.
Nice, good memories of these Chevy's body style
a complete work of art, marvelous
Beautiful Belair, you folks did a excellent job on this car, great metal work and body work, paint job looks amazing, also love the original style interior, everything on this Belair is perfect,Congratulations to the owners, I know it's a dream come true, THANKS everyone for sharing this Beautiful CLASSIC!
Beautiful metal work!
Beaultfull. And the most important, in original condiciction. Congratulation for the carefull.
You had me at It's a manual. So satisfying watching those floors pans go in. The Metal Work is top notch.
What a great job! Thanks for putting this back on the road again.
Excellent job. The California one piece bumper are sweet. Always like the Ermine white with red interior. Credit to the original owner for ordering that sport coupe body Bel Air big block combo.
I'm not sure it was originally a big block car though. Grill emblem looks like the standard non-348 piece in the beginning of the video. Also, the cross hairs on the tail lights are not correct for a Bel Air.
@@tommylordprobably can not get the original style Bel Air/Biscayne taillights anymore.
@danielulz Those red tails are the same as 1960, so I'm thinking they are re-popped.
The stainless cross hairs weren't available until '61, and only on the Impala. They lift off seperately if the lenses aren't screwed to the body.
The '60 back-up lights are solid white, but the '61 have a red reflector ring.
@@tommylord thanks for the info.
Its just interesting to see that you know stuff like that. @@tommylord
What a sweet ride 😍
Best car restoration video I’ve ever seen!!!!
Excellent restoration, beautiful car !!!
Gorgeous! The '61 is my fav of the '60s series of Chevys. No power steering or brakes, drive like you own it!
Awesome job thanks for the show.
That's great that you kept it original
That's rare to see anymore
Excellent! someones dream coming to life great job making it happen!
Beautiful car
Beautiful car,good work.
Viel Freude mit dem wunderschönen Fahrzeug. Liebe Grüße aus Koblenz Christoph 👋
61 Bel air is beautiful A+
When I started watching this video I said to myself... I hope they do a proper restoration, if they start doing resto modifications I'm turning it off.
You didn't disappoint, a restoration done right, It looks awesome!
Unusual to see a 61 again, nice job, its a beauty. Back in the days I had 2 , 63 chevy station wagons, a biscayne and a bel airre both with the 283 small 8. the belle aire had a standard on the column the other automatic. great cars!!!!!!!! There was nothing better than standard on the column once you really mastered it. The gear choice was yours and always right in front of you for total concentration and fast changes...
Very, very nice quality work.......wanna put your skills on a 1959 BelAir?
Love those late great Bel Airs
Beautiful work! A lot of patience, best of luck. Beautiful car!
Great photos of how this project progressed. True craftsmanship!
That Purdy!
Lot of hard work but it turned out great.
There are so many butchers out there who take beautiful cars like this and turn them into hideous monstrosities. I take my hat off to you for allowing this car to be exactly what it is. An awesome '61 bubble top. Very nicely done!!
Once they are butchered, they can never go back to original.
Damn nice 61 Bubbletop . Very wee done .
NICE!!!, Love that you left the 3 on the tree!
Thanks for sharing. My first car was a 61 Bel Air 4 dr in 1971. The 283 was so quiet you couldn’t hardly hear it running standing next to it. A cherry bomb muffler changed that, ha. Front fenders would pack with mud at the tips and then rust, no inner fenders to stop it. A great car, I loved driving mine.
My younger brothers first car was like this one, same engine too. I had a 1957 chevy for a first car. 327 engine, red and white. Gool ol memories there. To bad this newer generation is gonna miss out on what those old cars really were.
This build was extensive, not a walk in the park ! My buddy bought one new, without the 348 . I do not recall the engine, it was a mild power plant, but had the 4 on the floor, light blue, beautiful car. Thanks for filming and posting…Great job ! 👍🏻👍🏻
WOW!! What a beautiful, beautiful car you turned that back into!! And at the beginning of the video I was thinking, “here we go, LS swap, patina paint job, ect., ect., ect.” This car is MAGNIFICENT!!
That is a truckload of awesome! The 61 and 62 Chevy are my favorite cars
Beautiful car!! Job well done!!!
Oh man! In 1964, I owned a 1959 Chevy Impala Sport Coup. Grecian gray with beautiful red and gray interiour. 4 speed manual transmission , and the kicker was the 335 horse 348 solid lifter engine. That car was so fast in the day, what I wouldn't give to have that Chevy back today. I would hand wax that car every other week or so with, Super Blue Simonize Wax. I kept a can of that wax all these years as it is still good. I really miss those days.
To quote another well-known CZcamsr, "better than factory!" Absolutely outstanding restoration.
Very nice example. Huge undertaking as this car was in rough shape.
Outstanding job!! Love the fact that you kept the old 348 BB and the 3-on-the-tree! I had a 348 in my '59 Impala HT. Not much torque with the "Power-slush", but when they hit 30mph, that mill definitely wakes up! Seeing that you're also in the PHX area, maybe we'll run into one another at a show with my Elkie or my '65 C/10. 👍👍
Beautiful workmanship on this historically significant car. This car is evocative of the space race and JFK. Of the Cuban Missile crisis which my husband studied in University. This car represents such a large story. Out of this era human beings begin the work to land on the moon. Anyone having a car like this is truly blessed.
I was 5 years old in 1961 and saw on of these cars drive by slowly. It was all chrome and shiny. A new look too.
1961 Bel-Air bubble head. Very groovy.
My first car was a 61 Impala 348 . It was red with the white stripe. I still miss that car.
Perfect and absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!
Beautiful Restoration..
My sister had a 61 Biscayne. Great car.
As a child, my neighbor had one. My brother had a flat top and he built a 409 for. I'm a child of the 60s.
You updated it without destroying it. GREAT JOB!!
It’s comforting to know the craftsman of today can rival their predecessors and recreate a thing of beauty.
Better work than GM ever did.
Rust work was amazing !
Thanks for sharing your video, great work on a beautiful car 😊.
Absolutely gorgeous. The Belair is one of my all time favorites and you have done a fantastic job. Glad you restored it to original.
A work of art. Beautiful!
Well thought out and beautifully executed!
I had a black one that I bought from the neighbors for $50 in the early 70's. Drove it over the winter months when my '64 Vette was garaged. Filled the back seat up to the top of the seats w McDonald's bags, wrappers cups and sadly drove it to the junk yard in Spring when the Vette came out of hibernation.
Awesome work!
What a beautiful job done on a popular car. Thanks for sharing with us!!
NICE 👍
LOVE THAT CAR !!!
Super.
Great job! Love seeing cars brought back to better than new! I wanted to see the start-up and drive!
One of my favorite cars, looks great!
Breathtaking restoration! It must be amazing to see all that hard work being truly appreciated! The attention to detail was amazing... As a 1 year old when this beauty came out; Of course I saw them many times over the years and rode in them as well... Good health to you and yours...
What A Magnificent Piece of Work ! Well Done!
Beauty inside and out !
Stunning job! And second all the kudos for keeping it original.
Seriously good job on the 61 Impala guys. My Dad had one only his was jet black, red & white interior, 348 V8 w/3 deuces. Also knew a guy in our apartment (after Mom & Dad divorced) that had one when I was in high school, his was just like my Dad’s but his had a Muncie 4 speed. He blew the doors off a 65 GTO with it one night while cruising, (ah yeah, those were the days!!)
Great job on the restoration and the video documentation.
What a find. Stay with the 348. Saved from the crusher😊
Beautiful beautiful that is awesome great job guys beautiful question power glide that is awesome
That is 1 sharp ass Bel Air!!
Perfection. So nice to see it restore to an original presentation. Excellent job 👏
How... beautiful!!
1961 was the most beautifully designed vehicle of all time.
Beautiful!!!❤❤❤❤
Beautiful job
Gorgeous car!!!!
Beautiful car!
Fantastic! One of the nicest looking styling jobs for Chevy. Here in the Rust Belt, you could never find one that isn't rusted beyond all hope. Great to see one returned to its old self!
It was hiding some serious rust but awesome job of repairing it. This project turned out Great lots of hard work but well worth it.
Great restoration! I had the Impala in the late 60's. Chick magnet and a super driver. I wish I still had it.
Priceless. 😎
Excellent build! I've always loved the 61s lines. I think the Bel Air/Biscayne 2 lights per side look better than the Impala!
Work of art sir! You have top notch skills and patience. My 1st car in 1969 was a 1961 Impala bubble top. I loved that beast even though it was a far cry from being the jewel yours is. Well done
I love that you resisted going with a 4 on the floor and stayed with the 3 on the tree!
Wow! Beautiful restoration, just love those cars from that period in Detroit. I had a '61 Impala that was in immaculate shape and like a dummy sold it. Yes, slapping my head that many years does hurt.
Very nicely done. Thanks for keeping it alive.
Wow, my goodness, I'm speechless
Beautiful car.
Great job!
Gotta love a 61 bubble- top belair!
