  • The Massasaugua Provincial Park is a water-access only park with two main entry points, Pete's Place in the south and Three Legged Lake in the north. Our 4 day paddle begins and ends at the Three Legged Lake access point. We completed a circular route of about 40 km. passing through Spider Lake, Georgian Bay, Clear Lake and back through Spider Lake.

      Enjoy your trip. It’s a great park. I have paddled that park a dozen times and have never seen a bear.

    Thanks for this great look into the massassauga. It's great to know about the cell service...an often overlooked point that can be a real help to us novice paddlers. All the best Wayne!

    Enjoyable video. But my understanding is that a pilot program is in place for this year by moving to a flat fee per night. Temagami is included putting camping for any group under 4 people a bit unlikely. Solo camping/canoeing would be extremely expensive at about $32.50 per night before taxes. The flat fee will discourage solo and couples from using the park. One has to ask why such a policy would be developed when larger groups are a greater impact issue on the backcountry.

    Thanks Wayne, I really enjoyed this! Nice filming the sights and sounds, great narration too. Not very remote like Temagami or Quetico but sure is beautiful. Take care.

      No, not as remote, but very pretty area, and easy to get to.

    Your right! Massasaugua Prov Park is a great place & was my first introduction to back country prov park camping They have really upgraded the camp sites over the last 25 years. However they have also greatly upgraded the camping fees & have priced me out of the place for any extended stay. Nice video & thanks for the reminder of the beauty there. Stay Safe Brian 80

      Hey Brian, thanks for watching. Yes, unfortunately they have gone to a higher fee structure making it more costly for solo paddlers and small groups.

    What kind of stove was that at 13:15? It looked like a stainless steel butane stove? I’ve never seen anything like that before.

    • @TheOneCanoe
      @TheOneCanoe  Před 2 lety

      Yes, it is a compact, stainless steel butane stove made by GasOne. I did a review on that particular stove. Here is the link to that review: czcams.com/video/mwwlGfxPBgQ/video.html

    How about the ridiculous price increase for reservations now? A pilot run for potentially all park interior rates. How can Ontario parks charge the same for a soloist or a group of 9 makes no sense and is ridiculous!
