  • The Massasauga Provincial Park, Spider Lake canoe route completed in early summer 2010.
This was my girlfriends first backcountry trip so I choose a good introductory trip with few portages, easy access and great scenery. The Massasauga is a great park with countless trip possibilities ranging from exploring Georgian Bay to the inland lakes and streams.

Well done, glad to see young people that can enjoy the backcountry without quad!

Great video! I've been paddling in the Massasauga many times, but I never portage.

Great video. I can tell you worked hard for some of those shots setting up the camera and then having to go back for it is a lot of work. Good editing.

Nice video. I salute the extra work put in to get the 3rd-person viewpoint on some of those shots. We'll be heading to Spider Lake for the first time next month -- nice to have a little preview.
Ever been to Killarney PP? A bit further north of Parry Sound, but well worth the extra distance. Went there a lot some years ago (pre-kids) and am looking forward to returning some day.

I've watched the majority of your videos, starting with your dad taking the lead, and now with you in the most recent videos. I always find your videos informative, as opposed to the numerous videos from others that just chronicle their trip. I have also noticed that your videos have evolved, with the videography and editing greatly improving (not that it was bad), so keep up the great work.

Hey thanks so much Scott! 😁 It's certainly an evolution. Looking back on these old videos is a trip down memory lane. Hard to believe this one was a decade ago! Will be interesting to see where we land in another decade. You can never stop improving you skills!

@technologu Agree with that! Hard to find a girlfriend that suits you, let alone one that will venture into the backcountry for some real camping!

You mention you went into Creswicke lake? You think the portage in is worth it? I'm interested in making the same trek.

This was years ago. Portages have seen more maintenance since then. Well worth it though. You'll have more solitude compared with the bigger lakes.

Thanks, ill take it into consideration. You find the fishing good on Creswick? That's if you fished it?
