Sounds like you need some carb adjustments as well.
Thanks dude I had the same problem
I'm glad the video was helpful for you!
Is that little doohickey thing supposed to be mounted for the bike the start? The thing next to the battery the thingy with the fins?
Thank you for the video! Very helpful!!
I got the same issue. When it's hot outside, start right away. When it's cold, i ear the click, like something deactivate and it wont start. I need to repeat these attempt multiple time. So it's seem that you video point out the issue.. but where it is ? I only see the "final zoom" of the bolt to check, but don't know where it is... behing the rectifier/regulator ? (seem the be here)
Erik Gaudin hope you found it bu now... its in the battery box between the exhausts and the backtire. Depending on the size of the battery you may need to drop the access door and tighten the terminals frim there
@@danlopez2012 Thanks.. i will double check that
Need help put charge bike when it was running come back in about 5mis bike was smoking from the front froged my gauges up an smoking from the pipes
Any updates?
When do the oil and temperature lamps light up? Shouldn't they light up when the key is turned and then go out after the engine is started?
Temp when it's overheating, I've never seen the oil light come on
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy My VS 700 do the same, but I saw a video in which the lamps light up when the key is turned and go out after ignition. I thought there was a problem with my bike, so I asked.
Interesting, not on my bike.
Are you sure it's the not the kickstand light?
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy Yes, I'm sure. Look at this video czcams.com/video/FFZldGGu7dY/video.html 21.43 min
I have a 2000 susuki intruder 1500 I jump started the bike left charger on left for5 mins come back smoking front of motor an smoking coming out of pipes I had some gas stailizer in it need so help please
I sure hope you don't have a blown head gasket. Smoke out the exhaust can be a sign of this. Check your coolant and oil. Any discoloration is a sign that something is not right.
my 1990 intruder have Exhaust recycler on the cylinder head. If the hose is loose those gases can get out. If the smoke is not blue you are fine.
I have an 87 intruder and when I was riding it eventually the lights started to flicker and felt like the engine was going to die
Could be a bad ground wire, could be the voltage regulator rectifier going bad not charging the battery?
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy I am ordering a new rectifier because I know one of those connections was bad. I also am wondering if I should get the original battery, that is wet instead of a sealed
I've had both with no issues
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy thanks for the responses and input! I’ll let you know how it works out!
@@domenicv.distefano9795 did it work?
Do you still have this bike?
No.
Whats the poping
It's very cold out in this video and the bike is choked for warm up sputtering I would assume
Too rich or too lean mixture. It is common for old bikes especially with aftermarket exhaust and or other mods. Afterfire is not dangerous, maybe annoying, but nothing to be concern about
