In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens czcams.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
*Looks good even in daylight **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it was exactly what it was described to be , works awesome , overall happy with product*
I just went for a ride with my boat today just to observe the airbubbles that comes out from the strikes when the boat is on plane and they are a LOT. Right on the strikes i saw the most airbubbles in comparison with the flat surface between the strikes. So, its just simple logic. Since strikes make bubbles and flat surface doesnt the transducer go between them. That is what i think.
What is that sealer you where using in that tube. Thanks
How did you seal the hole where the wire goes through.
After the transducer is mounted is there a little bit of up and down movement of the transducer , in the bracket . Mine seems to move up and down a good 1/8 or so .
The online instructions say to mount it at least 15” away from the motor. He did not read the instructions.
I've been watching some transducer install videos and this one is the only one so far that says to mount in line with the chine on the bottom of the boat. All other instructions I've seen say to put it in the smooth flat between chines?
+Happytown The location will work but is not ideal. I would mount in-between.
It seems weird this is a humminbird video but he's mounting right on a strake... I would think humminbird should pull this video down...
Advice for anyone installing a transducer for the first time... don't follow this video. I've only done this a few times but have seen quite a few things he messed up on. So first, his placement... it should be between the chines not directly beside the chine. And when he marked it, he should have used a level to level the bracket both horiztontally and vertically. Then when "leveling" the transducer you want to have the back of the transducer slightly pointed up, not down. When your boat sits in the water the front rises and rear is lower so you need to mimic that angle with the transducer
so my fish finder works... but the plastic piece that is attached to the transducer broke, so I cannot mount it to the boat.... Right now, I just put a zip tie around the transducer cable at the base of it and used another zip tie to intertwine with that to run it through the boat mounting tabs.... looks like crap. Does anyone know if I can cut my existing transducer off and just buy another one? If so, will any transducer work or will I have to find the specific manufacturer and model? My fish finder is old.... but is also still working, so I don't want to replace it... I just want to see if I can put a new transducer on it.
+WanderleiSilva29 Why not epoxy a fabricated plastic bracket to the transducer?
Tom Snyder I actually just drilled a hole in it and welded in a latch to screw it into... It was a pain, but it worked.
You did not address drilling that hole and sealing it up at all . Amazing bad video.
Non va bene montata lì la sonda ..in quel punto dove c'è il pattino si generano tante turbolenze e quindi interferenze
I'm finding that literally no one on the internet knows how to correctly do this. The instructions that come with the unit are complete bullshit. Take it to the professionals.
Be a man. Don’t pay a real man to do it for you.
