  • When the English arrived in Virginia the colonists faced a very serious threat, but probably not the one you might expect. They built Fort Algernon at Point Comfort in 1609 to protect the colony. Join Hampton History Museum Educator Kris Peters as he discusses why the English constructed Fort Algernon in Hampton and the role it played in the early days of the Virginia Colony.
