- Using my Panasonic HC-VXF990 video camera and tripod, I filmed all of the clips in this video at Manchester Airport between March and December 2016. I used iMovie to edit all of the raw video clips I filmed to create this video here, which only uses content I myself filmed and fully own. All clips were taken by me on runway 23L.

The A320 may be a small plane, but the power in it's engines is completely unexpected. Do note that the A320 is one of the fastest accelerating planes in the world.

Gotta love those near 30 year old 757s just roaring away to holiday destinations. Also, it sounded like that Virgin 747 had a bit of a roar to it, a tiny hint of the old low-bypass sound. Your microphone is really excellent.

I find all these spool up sounds so soothing. I guess the same way some people feel relaxed when listening to whale sounds. Although my neighbors would probably beat me senseless if I started listening to videos like this at full volume at late night!

It sounds like it has a smaller resonance than the larger RR engines in the video. (Referring to the distinct RR engine sound. They sound like circular saws!)

i love the smaller engine n their two tier spool sound...love those high pitch sound too..the ge90 is so massive n powerful it only need like one linear spool to get it going lol..n it has a lower pitch due to its larger diameter.
It's also because the GE90 has carbon fiber blades instead of titanium blades

1:40 WOW dude! the mighty A330s do that whistle during takeoffs too?! WOW dude! I live under the Paths for Dulles Int Airport! the arrivals are always around 3000 FT and departures are about 5000-6000 FT! the A330s always do that after a good pass! 1C or 1R! it is amazing! yesterday a big storm was Interfering with the Paths so that had to come in from the left, the Aer Lingus A330-200 and SAS A330-300 did a massive spool up! and most lightweights if not all always have Tiny Spool Ups, some you cannot hear, most heavies give a nice spool up, or all do... it is an amazing life i am living!
All Trents do that, not just the Trent 700. The actual spool up is quite distinctive

Boeing 777 engines has the coolest engine sound.
surprisingly, the smaller ones are noisier than the larger birds with 4 engines.
Larger fan diameter equals lower overall noise so no, not surprising.
Kind of like someone with short legs having to run harder.

In reality they are not. Believe me i live just 2.5 miles from Heathrow. The smaller planes are far quieter than the four engined planes. Don’t listen to what this lot here tells you.

A330 as well. It's quite distinctive
And this was probably one of the last few times that the Avro RJ100 was flying before Swiss took them out of their fleet.
