Simulating 24 Hours at Medieval Angkor Wat [2017]

  • Since 2014, a team at Monash SensiLab have been researching how dynamic simulations can visualise recent archaeological discoveries at Angkor Wat, and pose hypothetical scenarios about how the complex might have operated almost a millennium ago. This study is a simulation of movement through time and reconstructed space, where the paths of thousands of animated ‘agents’ are tracked as they enter, exit and circulate within the temple enclosure. The time frame of the simulation is just 24 hours: a virtual day in the life of medieval Angkor Wat.

Not likely - the Khmer rouge regime (well, Pol pot) sold off the countries rights to buy arms during his reign of terror. Even today, most of the tourist dollars end up going to Vietnam as part of that deal struck in the 1970's.

I mean Cambodia's economy is much different than before with the support of their long-time ally with China and it is a free-market economy. They don't care how they trade. Cambodia was once called the pearl of Asia because of the trade!

Thailand (Siam) give orders to build the wonders of the world called Angkor Wat.👽🤖
Cambodian people are just tribesmen who sell labor to build Angkor Wat.🤔
If you search, you will find many evidence such as ancient inscriptions.
Either in China, Burma or Vietnam, leading to the belief that Siam is the real owner of Angkor Wat. The Khmers are not the real owners of Angkor Wat. Suryavarman II came from Siam. Evidence from stone carvings indicates that great kings such as Suryavarman II came from Thailand's Lopburi province. King Jayavarman V traveled from Phimai in Thailand.
The Kingdom of Siam predates the Angkor Wat era.☺
For example, the name of the Kingdom of Lawo. Dvaravati Kingdom
All of these were established by Siam.

What's amazing is how people from the ancient past are able to create these magnificent structures. Their knowledge and ingenuity is always being downplayed by modern humans. It is as if it is easier to believe that "aliens" built these structures than believing your fellow human being can think of and accomplish such feats. Just a thought. 🤷‍♂️

Stone versus concrete I guess. Although Christ the redeemer was made with modern engineering, think of the poor estimated 300,000 people that built Angkor Wat in only 30 years (yes 30 is quick, it's 16 stories high and the 5 million ton of stone was quarried around 50km away - still the largest religious monument in the world), using only barges, ropes and elephants. It is a temple yes, but really it was primarily built as a funeral mausoleum for King Suryavarman the 2nd. Compare it to Emperor Hadrian's mausoleum or the Taj Mahal, it's a lot bigger than Christ the redeemer too (and looks better)
