- Welcome to our video where we'll guide you through fixing the frustrating "Low on Space to Save Progress" popup in Starfield.
Many players encounter this issue despite having ample disk space, leaving them puzzled. The first step is to declutter your save files. Open the Starfield menu, head to Load Game, and sort by date. Delete the oldest saves you no longer need to free up space instantly. Remember, this is a temporary solution; periodic deletions will be necessary.
To further alleviate this problem, reduce the number of save slots by adjusting autosave settings. In the Settings menu, disable autosaves for Save on Rest, Save on Wait, Save on Travel, and Save on Pause.
Master these tips to ensure uninterrupted enjoyment of Starfield! Proper save file management is key in this open-world RPG. đ - Hry
This is a workaround at best. Plus, itâs 2023, I should not have to âproperly manage my save filesâ. If the game canât handle more than a specific number of save files then it needs to limit the number of slots to whatever it can handle.
I have removed countless saves from my game and I still keep getting this fucking message I was finally able to solve the problem by disabling the steam save cloud on the game so that the saves went directly to my computer instead
Useless answer. 'Saving less often' is not a solution. The problem on PC is that the amount of cloud save space drops drastically over time, with no way to disable. I started with nearly 200 saves, but now at level 37 I'm allowed only 10 saves, and dropping. Some users are down to only ONE save.
Glad I'm not the only one. Thought it was weird when I had 100 saves and first encountered this issue, now I have 30ish saves and it's becoming more frequent.
@@colemaneuclid I corresponded with Xbox/MS support and Bethesda about this issue, and they have NO solution, each blaming the other, and indicated no intention of fixing, which is absurd. At level 75 I was down to only 2 saves.
I kept trying different suggestions, and at some point, when I first start the game, it started showing a list of about 80 saves, which you can delete from. But once you start playing, it drops down to about 8 saves again, until you restart again.
NOPE! This worked at first but now I have deleted and KEEP deleting and the message now acts like a bug. It absolutely WILL NOT go away.
What do I do if I did this already and it is still giving me this message? Iâm on Xbox series X and I am down to one save and one quick save⊠I need more than two savesâŠ
Same for me. Game is unable to save in this state. Cloud gaming for PC game pass sucks.
Same thing happening for me on Xbox series X too
I did a factory reset on my Xbox (backed up everything). It seems to work so far. I was able to create a new save no issues 1 hour in though.
@@loganbenjamin1081when you factory reset, did it enable you to make lots more Saves? Because at the beginning of the game you get around 300 save slots and Iâm on just under 40 now
It's remarkable how poorly optimized this game is, even on PC. My system is only five years old, and my save drive has 300+ gbs available for save space. And yet I got this prompt after only 70 saves in. Pathetic. Bethesda needs to get their shit together. Thanks for the fix.
The odd thing was i had over 2200 save games before ever seeing the message.I read that there's only 1gb of cloud save storage so i turned it off cloud saves in steam and didn't get the message yet after restarting.
Yeah, cloud saving is causing the error.
Hey! Iâm having a issue where when I updated the game it deleted my saves, I guess. They are all on the Xbox network still but when I try to sync the data with the cloud it says I donât have space when I do.
have you been able to figure out this issue? i have the same thing going on too
@@chefzakk figured it out, I had too many save games on other games.
Great game and I have a LOT of hours on it but really the bugs seem to be getting worse, not better as any game should. WTF?
Funny, I played Skyrim with 100s of save files and no complaints or errors from the program. It also took 8GB of local saves before i saw the error in Starfield. Now it's almost daily. I have turned off cloud saves, deleted almost all save slots and even reinstalled Windows and this shit is still happening.
Don't save. Great fix. Thanks.
Thanks.
this isnt a fix.... this is how to delete your save files XD I dont know why they didnt give us the option to not use the cloud for save files, its really annoying. anyone find a way to make starfeild save to your hard drive only and not send anything to crapysofts..i mean microsoft's cloud?
Completely useless video - âwhat do you do when you get low on space?â âDelete old saves and donât save as muchâ Oh REALLY, I NEVER wouldâve guessed that!
The low space save issue is ppl start out with well over 100 save slots and as time progresses the number of save you can have starts going down and down until some people can only have literally 1 save. I had over 150 starting out but now only have 30 and itâs asking me AGAIN to delete more!
Nope, I had 650 save files for this game. It only started after I deleted all of them. Now the game is broken. It's a POS game by the company that is known for making broken games.
