i had deleted my entire user folder so had to make a new one thank you! i was still in game saved my 60 hour file :D

I got you, You need to go to :This Pc/ windows (C:)/ users/ >>the name of admin you are logged as usually you find it under your name in settings when looking at top right corner ,also it will be briefly written as 5 letters only Inside the Users Folder) create if not existed a OneDrive folder ,if it exists leave it as it is, Then Inside OneDrive folder create Documents Folder. Congrats enter the game and saving issue will be solved.
How can I recover my older save? I panicked and tried to overwrite the save onto a couple of different saves and now I have lost my current progress and my last 2/3 previous saves. Can something be done through a local save?

My solution: RUN STEAM AS ADMIN (Or stop running it as admin) AND FIND TWO DAYS WORTH OF MISSING SAVES.

Cheers, was not keen on starting again.
None of these helped. What did help however was deleting the latest save as it was detected as corrupt when loading the game, after that I loaded my second latest save (which was now my latest) and I was able to save again as normal.

this did nothing for me try delete your last save its from the main menu after restarting you game that save is corrupted go back one save and try playing from there

I know a way to fix it. 100% working. (Not joking)

I also faced this issue and i was quiet frustrated.
The main problem is One Drive.
To fix this.
1) Sign in to your one drive (if not sign in)
2) on the sync and backup option click on manage backup
3) Turn off the backup for the document folder( if ypu domt want risk then turn off all)
This will solve the problem.
It will work 100% trust me.
