  • LeBron James gave the Lakers their chance to bring in more talent around him and Rob Pelinka struck out. Now, James gets his max deal. Interestingly, rather than taking a three-year contract, he kept the pressure on with a player option after next season.
    Anthony breaks down how we got here, what this means from here on out, and a scenario we now need to keep in mind moving forward.

    Luka and Irving with role players made it to the finals. Why can't AD and Lebron make it to the finals. Tell me a move that could get us to a championship,? Clay was afraid of being a Laker. It is so easy to complain, but show us what you would do.

      Imagine Lebron and AD with the 2-way role players Kyrie and Luka had.

      LeBron and AD had no perimeter defenders at all lol. Spencer? Not known as a defender. Max? Yes but got dogged out by Darvin. Give Bron and AD, Gafford Derrick Jones and PJ Washington.

      These pod casters thinks it’s so easy to make moves. They have to know that you need to sides has to agree on a deal. You can make an offer to a team for a trade, but if they don’t like your offer, then what the hell can you do. Talk is easy when you’re behind your desk and speaking to a camera.

    I don't know why anthony is pushing this narrative that lebron might not finish the season next year with the lakers. His son is on the team...he's not gonna ask for a trade. Quit making up news

    The Lakers have become a bottom line team they’re trying to make as much as they can off the bron and bronny story if they win? cool but a championship isn’t a the goal if this is the off-season

    After I realized no star is coming I thought of the positives.JJ, McMillan,and Brooks will add 5 more wins just from being smarter than Ham.Vando Wood and Gabe should be healthy.Rui will be a starter from the beginning of the season and Dlo is a good regular season player.
    Things ain't as doom and gloom as they seam.

      Lakers would be chipless without LeBron, and Rob would still be in the front office running it like an amateur, locking up his own roster spots with player options....get outta here

      @ghostb.c.4501 What point do you think you are making here? That they could have had a g-league roster and would have won? That LeBron had zero to do with wining because the "pandemic"? Doesn't matter if it was a pandemic or not, without LeBron the Lakers aren't wining shit

    You are really going to sit there and act like Lebron has absolutely nothing to do with going on with the Lakers. Who in there right mind is going to come to LA and be apart of this BS. Your right about one thing, yes this is the Lakers fault for allowing this BS. The Lakers should have dismantled this team after 2021 season, Jerry Buss has to be rolling over in his grave at this 💩

  • @IxcaC
    @IxcaC Před 14 dny +6

    Pelinka might be a terrible GM, but a good GM wouldn't trust LeBron's ability to lead a team to a championship. A good GM would not feel pressured by a 41 year-old threatening to leave $50 million on the table. Any GM would cut their losses at that point because they know that 41 year-old is not getting $50 million anywhere else.
    What this does to the team this next season is create chaos and uncertainty. Nobody on the team besides Davis and Bronny will feel like the team's media protected player has any confidence in them. A good GM won't overpay for marginal improvements knowing that it won't lead to a championship.
    Imagine owning and running a team and being beholden to a player's wishes. Who you hire to coach, who you draft, and who you sign and trade for. A player that is outside the top 10 in the league at his best and likely to leave the top 20 by mid season.

      Looking further into it I think once Klay Thompson turned them down the Lakers immediately moved into their backup plan. They're trying to only compete for championships and they didn't feel any of the deals were enough to get them over the hump and didn't see Valanciunas salary would get them over the hump either. Starting (25-26) w/ the new TV deals the Salary Cap is expected to take a big jump (10%). Lebron showed a willingness to take a pay-cut but I believe they told him to make his money this season and look to be willing to take an even bigger cut next season with the increased salary cap for a potential Max player + NTP MLE, etc. Look for the Lakers to NOT take on more long term salary this season which means NO Jerami Grant or Cam Johnson. I say watch them look for names like Bruce Brown Jr, Dorian Finney Smith and Dennis Schroder w/ D'Lo and other long-term salaries going out (Vincent/Rui/Vanderbilt)
