We can't sign CP3 as a first apron team if he's bought out/ waived as our restrictions currently stand as can not 'Sign a player who was waived during the current season if his pre-waiver salary for 2024-25 exceeded the amount of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception ($12,405,000)', as his 30m (previous contract) would be greater than the NTMLE.
I think that’s only during the regular season, if he’s waived during the off season it’s fine

Is it impossible to think DLO can improve his playoff performance now that he has a little more experience. Lots of guys arent playoff performers right away. Weve seen him have some really good playoff games. If we didnt blow game 2 hes a hero didnt he set a record for made 3s by a Laker in the playoffs that game. Game 5 he was great as well. I think he can improve he has more experience now. If he gets traded for a better player thats cool but dont dump him for nothing his shooting is crucial for us.

Austin can’t be the lead guard. He’s a secondary playmaker and can maybe run the second unit. I love AR but he’s not a starting point guard on a Championship team
There is no way, he doesn't have the handle and quickness to hold up vs heavy ball pressure bringing the ball up all the time. He has flashy handles as an iso scorer but not great as a point guard. I love Austin but he's not a 1 guard.
The lakers run 5 out offense and they have lebron not to mention ad is going to be used like jokic or embid so we don’t need a pg that’s super on ball just need someone who can defense and shoot
Dlo, Reaves, Derozan, Bron, AD. Would be an excellent lineup. Or go big. Lebron, Reaves, Derozan, AD, Drummond. Lakers need to do a sign and trade deal with the Bulls for Derozan and Drummond. Derozan would greatly improve the shooting on the Lakers as he is great at attacking downhill and getting to his midrange jump shots. Teams will need to sag off shooters or get torched 1 on 1...With Dlo, Reaves, and Bron spacing the floor, and AD in the dunkers things will go amazing. Also pick and roll and pick and pop with AD will be booming...
DLo is a great value for his in season production but we are not only looking for in season production, we need production in the playoffs so we have to trade him... Sucks cuz I actually like the guy but we need playoff production

Gotta pivot to Bruce brown and cam Johnson or Jermaine grant. If decision making in the playoffs is gonna run through Lebron anyway with Austin as a secondary guy. Bruce brown can handle a bit grant can handle a bit. Knecht looks like a more athletic combo of atl bogdonavic and Reaves so he might be able to handle off the bench. I’d sign dinshiddie on the minimum for some backup minutes. Lean in on defense and athleticism.
