K Marts take about A PG rebound = instant fast break, is why the Lakers thing didnt work. Its also why at OKC, Steven Adams used to box out for Russ. Adams could put 100% effort into keeping the lane clear. Russ would fly in and grab rebound while Adams had a headstart in getting back on the break. It was a strategy that benefited the team, it wasnt Adams giving Russ a rebound.. Adams couldnt really jump but he was strong as f..k on the ground. Those rebpunds turned into fast break assists, which led to triple doubles.

@@MrDiMES123 Thank you! Finally someone who actually watches him. When they were saying it's understandable to criticize shot blockers if they give up too many O rebounds, or going for too many steals and letting your man go by, going for defensive rebounds the way westbrook does also hurts the team because he doesn't guard his man.
People equate effort with showing high emotions and running around a lot... That doesn't mean effort. Some people just play with less explosiveness and emotions, that doesn't mean less effort. Westbrook, takes a TON of defensive plays off and often has his man slipping past him without Russ knowing cause he's not even paying attention. He also gambles for steals like crazy. And then, people say Kawhi doesn't play hard because of his demeanor, yet he is one of the few elite scorers while playing elite defense on the best player every game. But because he doesn't yell and scream and looks calm all the time, somehow he isn't playing hard...

Now, that doesn't mean KD had a good game either; they both sucked. @kbt33_ Před 5 měsíci

Doing what he did is definitely not easy otherwise more players would do it for the money/attention/accolades. The problem was that his heart and effort didn’t equate to always winning. At times he’ll force bad passes to try and get his assists. He’s good for more than 10 points earlier in his career so he doesn’t need to force up bad shoots. He just wasn’t efficient and it’s showing now in his career. So his mentality to be what he once was, was hurting the team before he stepped back with the Clippers. He had a good run last year with them but still a drop off from his OKC and Wizards days.

those who watched westbrook in real life know that you just can't win with him. He has ZERO off ball game. And even with durant, he chose to SHOOT MORE THAN HIM. I used to love it when he did that when i was rooting for the warriors. He refuses to be effective without the ball. Thats problematic for a guy with such a high usage rate as his. I just can't respect that style of play. He's talented af. The only time he played well withot hte ball was in houston. There you saw how beautiful his game could be. It's a shame.
