How to Make a Slingshot from a Tree fork

- In this video I make a catapult from an oversized oak fork. I used a handsaw to split the fork into a board, bandsaw to cut out my design, spindle sander to clean up my cut and to shape as well as my linisher
I finished the wooden frame with teak oil. This build can easily be done with handsaws, rasps, files and sand paper instead of power tools it just takes much longer. When it gets freezing in the winter months, try infrared radiant heaters if you're not already using one of these.
They transfer warmth quickly to you without heating up all the air in the cabin (Y)

Interesting Thankyou I make my own out of various Hardwood forks but tend to carve them with a sharp Sheath knife ..They take longer but I have difficulty with keeping everything equal..I liked the way you cut the fork on both sides first!
You can do alot with a hand saw, coping saw, rasp, sandpaper and a vice. I used to do the this way but I've since invested in myself and this workshop

Bought back the memory of my old great grandfather who made me my first set of spragg, about 1967, i was bored shitless off school with mumps at the time.

You should try true oil it's a gun stock finish looks lovely after few coats
Really nice work, that dark in the crotch is so strong as you know, never made a (USA "pea shooter") but it is on my mind, lots of oak here in Tennessee it is tough when we try to split those Ys when we are making fire wood hard work even with a splitter. Thanks for the video, lovely baby!
