What a freaking blessing this is to watch in its original form. I remember sitting on the living room floor in 1992, holding my pillow, watching this concert on TV. It was a defining moment of my young life, as I remember it clearly.
What a time to be alivvee. I was born in 96, kinda regret it now.

Nice, I was dating a pillow too when I was a young man

1st time i've listened this brilliant piece - was about... 2001 I guess. I was ten, and I f*cking loved it.
Here, after 22y this shit still amazes me.
Greetings from Poland 😃
after 25 years no one is even close to this.
BOETHIUS *cough* Nirvana
Michelle Nicole HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
you know nirvana performed at the same time as pearl jam...? he said "after 25 years /.../"
Bro did you listen to fucking Alice in Chains?
@@skywardswag2012 youre joking right... nirvana is long dead, and even if they were still around its a completely different sound and style.
Amazes me that Eddies voice is just like it is on the album a true vocalist and lyricist
And even better!!
It is even better live, it has more emotion
This man is going to go down as one of the greats to ever do it. Band was dope too!

Current and future generations take note: This is raw and real music. A stripped down unplugged musical performance full of emotion. Put it in your soul and let it be your inspiration for creation.
Nothing compares
Could not have said that any better..

Best debut album of all time
I travelled from a holiday in Nice, south France to Rome just to see Pearl Jam at 18, alone. I had fuck all money and had been living off of oats, milk and carrots. Had 30 quid left but a flat for a week and walked to the concert telling myself I’d use the money on a taxi and ended up getting a beer and a t shirt 😂 took me hours to get back, always asking people where I was with a map in my hands… they pointed me to the bus stop and I was too embarrassed to say I couldn’t afford a 2€ bus 😂 this was around 2016
This really is one of the most important CZcams videos in my opinion.

Fucking eh from Canada!
It is winters here in himalayas in India at 2500m altitude. The snow is about to start falling down any moment now and I find myself listening to pearl jam unplugged. I cant ask for more from life :)
Never was a fan of Pearl Jam until I started listening to the unplugged version and it's really amazing now I'm starting to get into them more
That must have been a huge ass rock you were stuck under all those years
Din exactly...I was under the same friggin rock! Oh my it is so wonderful to be rid of that fossil..
Dave Abbruzzese. He was the magic ingredient.
@@DinsDetailin Pearl Jam continues to be discovered to this day. That's the takeaway.

30 years later.
Still no one comes close to Pearl Jam's performance MTV unplugged 🤘
Alice in Chains tied with Pearl Jam. Sorry, not sorry.

So beautiful Chris...

It's 2021, I have reared a family, buried parents, lost friends, and myself. But listening to this takes me back. It is a sound I can find the me in, to take forward, for me. We loose ourselves in the motion of life, but not forever. I'm lucky, I love going back. Such a sound, such a memory of youth. I'm glad I was who I was. There is something about the spirit. And tonight, it's good to smile and remember.
And yet, you still don’t know the difference between lose and loose.
I am wishing you well tonight. Peace of the Lord be upon you, Eileen.
"...after 25 years, the Pearl Jam we all grew up with and loved unconditionally has never left our souls....Pearl Jam grew up with us, and we with them....if you've "listened" from the very beginning, you know the feeling, the joy - the sadness and happiness of a life lived eternal!"
Ten is the best album to ever be made, and Eddie is the most beautiful man I have ever seen....ever.
Ten is a good album but the best ever thats a stretch
I don't normally like guys with long hair, in 1991, Eddie could have changed my mind, he still can.
Kelly Musher if Eddie changed your mind.. listen to Alice In Chains if you want to hear the greatest singer that ever lived. He also had tremendous long hair.
A great album, but not the best.
Pink Floyd The Wall comes to mind.
@Johnny Appleseed, Bruce Dickinson and Michael Patton have both Vedder and Staley beat. But they are great.
kmsharley75 The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon both could be the greatest album ever. They’re both the greatest work in the history of music. Staley’s voice is pure heroin. Type in “Alice Live at The Moore”
By FAR the BEST version posted of 1992 Unplugged! Thanks for staying true to the music Doug. Oceans (first song) was tribute to his girlfriend Beth. It stunk that MTV edited that out for final televised version.
I was at this show and got a soundboard recording at the end! Best show ever!!
Thank you Pearl Jam. 25 years later I have found the opportunity to show my appreciation for an amazing piece of music history.
As someone important used to say, for those about to rock.......
we salute you
State of Love and Trust is probably their best song imo, never got the credit it deserved.
Totally agree, best performance on this album.
It's in the top ten but I'd say immortality, black, small town, better man and daughter are easily better. That's just my opinion it's a great song and I love it
Dissident, Go, Last Exit, Corduroy.
Garden, go, state of love and trust, gods dice, Mfc, some of my faves that I think are underrated

After all these years.... still the BEST episode of Unplugged!
Exact on this day 29 years ago this masterpiece was created
Wow. I remember this like it was yesterday. Zeppelin seemed so far in the past and they were much closer to me in time than what this performance is now. Can't believe it's been that long.
There is something about the music that defined our generation and how we walked thru life and No one younger than us will understand.
I am glad I was born in 80's and saw all this History passing thru my Eyes and ears.
❤ Much Love and blessings.
I'm glad I was 17 when Ten came out...such an impact ❤
I was born in 89 but had a brother 10 years older than me so grew up listening to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Soundgarden etc and even though I wasn't a teen when they came out, as a teen they still had the biggest impact on me and were the bands I listened to most. I feel like a grunge child even though I was so young at the time
37 years I’ve spent on this planet, so how is it I am just now hearing PJ’s version of “Rocking in the Free World?” Wow!
check out the pinkpop 1992 version. they even played it at the mtv music awards live in 1993 with Neil Young. they have played it so many times!
The only thing this performance is missing is Release. That would be the perfect song to play unplugged.
I totaly agree but I miss garden too.
Yes Gary...Release would have been totally unbelievably beautiful.
Why tf do you have a blue lives matter pfp
and come back :/
My thoughts exactly!!!
Love this performance. Eddies on another level. Also that drummer is a beast , long live pearl jam!!!
I've sung every lyric for almost 30 years now and still feel like I don't appreciate how good this was.
July 25th, 2019... here since '92... still Epic!!
I love this album so much. Miss the 1990s' so much. Eddie is a fucking FORCE. That voice, like a volcanic eruption. And Mike is truly a genius. One of the most underrated guitarists ever.
25 years from today... one of the best bands ever
Feels like yesterday... when bands like YOU were invited to a unplugged. Unfortunately, now a days I cannot see that same hunger on music as YOU did that time. A HUGE THANK YOU for making me believe!,,,
Every time I come back here, it makes me realise how lucky the people in the audience were
Eddie could not stay on that stool. I knew that was going to happen. What a true performer
I forgot how good this was. Sadly there will never be music this good, or MTV for that matter, again.
Nobody gets into their songs like Eddie...the facial expressions say it all. One of the greatest bands EVER!!!
very true
Ohhh Eddie ❤ this voice is so amazing
Scary how good this is, even after all these years. 🏴
Pearl Jam has to be one of the best bands live. Sounds just like the studio versions. Maybe even better!
"Los Hermanos" from Brazil do the same. Live versions sometimes are better than Studio versions.
Também concordo
DAVE ABBRUZZESE was hands down their best drummer!! Man is so friggin talented.
He's the best, so smooth, so fluid, its like he has 6 hands.
Not even close... He played the drums with the right force
He gives soul to the songs... Toda everything is so fast.. No emotion anymore.
WOW, was about to leave the same comment, but, You captured it right! Such a huge reason I started playing drums at 14-15
Absolutely correct my friend. When they got rid of Dave they changed big time and not for the better IMO. Matt Cameron is a very good drummer. His style fits Soundgarden, but Pearl Jam were never as intense after they fired Dave.
One of the best unplugged i've ever seen...

Up late smoking 🌿 Pearl Jam is the vibe Rn. 💯

Something about those Seattle singers back in the 80-90 era... Probably the best vocalists ever..
Eddie’s originally from CA, but ended up joining Pearl Jam in WA.
But Eddie is from california
Impeccably performed throughout. Vedder's voice in his prime has been pretty much unmatched.
What a drummer!!!
Me at the first song :
-Hmm, oceans... it seems that it'll be a nice smooth acoustic, let's start the chill time
me at the end of the concert :
-FUUUCK LET'S ROCK!!!
Best drummer Pearl Jam ever had.
I agree
Not just their best drummer, but one of THE best.
SimononCanondale SuperdooperBikerider who’s the best then?
@@Liam-qb7em hmm tough, that really depends on what type of music you like.
Brian Viglione from the Dresden Dolls is on of my top choices along with big hitters Bonham, Chad Smith, Mitch Mitchell, Stuart Copeland, there are many.

@@tripod97 no one can make grunge like the Seattle 4 so to bring it back will only destroy something that is golden. God I hear these songs and it takes me right back to the 90s..... my youth
El mejor unplugged. Los conocí hace más de 8 años y vuelvo cada tanto a disfrutar esta maravilla
También me encantan los unplugged de Soda Stereo y Zoé, ambos una gran joya.
Absolutely his best singing performance I've witnessed, black is my favourite song and the version on here makes me feel ways a cant put into words
I probably watch 2-3 reaction videos on this every week and although I’ve watched it probably hundreds of times, I tear up and cry every time during Black.
Let that hair flow Eddie!
Que hermosa epoca, cuando MTV era un canal de rock y hacian estos unplugged tremendos. Por suerte en el 2005 pude ver a Pearl Jam en vivo en Argentina y hasta el dia de hoy fue el mejor recital que vi en mi vida.
This is hands down the best unplugged I’ve ever seen! Eddie Vedder has so much passion when he sings, I love it when his eyes roll back in his head. And he was so freakin sexy back then, especially when he was singing. I can’t help but wonder if he had that passion during other times. ..Enough said!
Musicians are extraordinarily passionate.

Awesome
Hearing a band that can actually play live and a singer without electronic editing is rare
Great performance
This is fucking next level...
For 20 years I’ve been coming back to this, a true masterpiece.. fucking awesome.
Great performance. Alice In Chains should’ve got the Unplugged gig in 1992 while Layne was still in his prime and hadn’t ruined his voice and teeth. We were blessed that he was able to perform in 1996.
Im not romantizicing everything that happened to him but unplugged layne was just darker and it made for a truly haunting set
We wouldn't have nutshell and sludge factory, etc, on the set list.. I really cannot imagine that concert without 'em
Maayan384 Good point. And those two are the best performances that the world would ever see from him
@@lastfewtokes yes, it's very true my friend... He used all his inner pain and all his tear & wear from the lengthened drug abuse to deliver an absolute emotional performance, even though the vocals were somewhat imperfect at certain points of the show it became with time an undescribable addition to the character of his voice in that show and in my opinion it made it much more legendary than it already was, as one of the last major concerts he did with the band.... I can go on and on for ever, thinking about Layne's path really triggers so much in me
Things happen in their own time 🙂
Eddie sings with more passion then any singer I have ever heard. His voice explodes, the range is second to none. Unbelievable. My hair on my neck stood up for this entire vide. This man is a fuckin legend!
