    New to your channel love the video and how detailed the content is. Looking at buying a used ranger in the next few months and this is the first UK ranger video that i actually like. With all the gears added to the truck, i cant wait. I do share the same wilderness expeditions and the coastal surfing and camping lifestyle, so this to me is a big find. After going through your website, it made me appreciate you and your work even more. From a serving member to a veteran, well done mate from a Fijian Brother.

    That's a nice build, do you keep a spare wheel? Just wondering if a 35 would still fit in the regular place under the bed. I'm putting a RC kit on my Ranger and I'm gonna run 35 Maxxis but I haven't been able to find a bed mounted wheel rack for it.

    • @MachinaDesigns
      @MachinaDesigns  Před 3 lety +1

      With the new rangers here in the U.K. they are fitted with Adblue tanks that limit the amount of space available for a larger than stock spare wheel. With most good tire brands being very dependable it’s very seldom you may experience a puncture, so a tire repair kit could suffice. Ultimately depends on what terrain you’ll be facing on a expedition which could warrant a rear bumper mounted tire carrier.

  • @wanderingsouthafrican2280

    Do not watch this video... it will just make you want this truck/ute/bakkie 😉
    Props to Tom for the work he put in on this build... just needs an RSI Smart Canopy 🤣

    Awsome truck. I am seriously wanting to purchase a wildtrak but the horror stories about reliability are kinda swaying me towards the d'max.... Which is a shame as I love the ranger. Have you had any issues especially with off road use. Also, are bull bars legal here in the UK and do they add a ton on your insurance premium. Cheers

    • @MachinaDesigns
      @MachinaDesigns  Před 3 lety

      Hi Samuel thank you for getting in touch. I’ve not had any issues with my truck both on and off-road. I do service her every 10000 miles and monitor my oil catch cans oil levels regularly. To be honest you only hear the horror stories before the good ones. The Dmax is a great choice and a very under rated 4x4. Bull bars per say are a little bit of a grey area especially if you’re talking about the hooped bars. From what I know they are sold as a off road use only here in the UK, hence my choice for a steel winch bumper with no hoops. As for insurance there are great companies out there such as A plan or Brentacre to name a few that will insure all you’re mods at a very reasonable price as long as they are not performance enhancing mods. Hope that helps you

    • @sloth_e
      @sloth_e Před 3 lety +2

      Mate, between this and the Toyota hilux they are the two top selling VEHICLES in Australia. Not best selling 4x4 or ute etc but vehicle. Theres no reliability issues with them here. No more probs than any other new vehicle. The 3.2 is tried and tested. As for bull bars, I'd only get a full hooped bar if animals on the road are an issue. Not even here in the road kill nation does everyone go the full bull bar. If you need a winch then all you need is a mounting platform.

    Quick question dude is the cutting due more so cas of the offset rather than the 35 inch tyres

    • @MachinaDesigns
      @MachinaDesigns  Před 3 lety

      It’s a bit of both really but mainly to offset yes

  • @stevejaggi8615

    Do we know if Tom reinforced his tub based slimline II rack - I have a Wildtrak PX III and was told by Ford that the max weight allowance for a tub rack was 25kg.

    • @MachinaDesigns
      @MachinaDesigns  Před 3 lety +1

      I don’t think so and that’s slightly puzzling why Ford would worry about 25kg as the payload of the tub is over a ton. Front runner racks are some of the toughest out there too and they weigh in the region of 23kg by themselves. I’m not very confident you’ve been given the right information by ford here. I’ll look into further and see what the crack is.

    • @stevejaggi6748
