- On December 8th, 2022 Officers were dispatched to the Marriott Hotel for a homeless man who had broken into several occupied rooms and scared the guests. He refused to leave when housekeeping discovered him in a vacant room.

Reagan signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation in 1981, removing the MHSA funding, essentially overturning Carter's attempts at doing something about the growing mental health crisis that we are still struggling with today.

There needs to be laws against people that habitually refuse to take their meds and places to keep them when they don’t.
It's a tough balance because some psych meds make you feel like a zombie or have serious long-term effects. For example, you know in the med commercials when they say a med might make you su!c!dal? That's a thing that actually happens and when it takes your ability to express that because they're so doped, it's a human rights violation. In a perfect world without side-effects, I would totally agree.
My thoughts exactly. When they closed the mental hospitals decades ago they threw so many people on the street where they don't get the meds and support they need and mostly end up in jails. We and them are both paying the price

I think that this hotel chain might want to consider investing in better locks if some random stranger, who has hardly anything, can get in so easily.
When I worked in a hotel we sometimes had issues like this. Was usually because guests checking out would leave their door cracked or cleaning staff would leave door open in between cleaning so they didn't have to swipe their card over and over.
How many times did he say something threatening to the police? Isn’t that multiple offenses of threatening g police officers? Was/will he be charged with threatening the officers along with the other charges?
It's optional whether or not they want to charge him for that, in some cases they do in other cases if they know it's complete bluff they might not bother.
