You have to see both sides. My great grandmother was an artist, my great uncle was an art professor, art is important to me and humans in general I believe. However, one, he signed a contract to do the tour im sure. Two, Big Boi has mouths to feed and obligations im sure he was in debt to by expecting 20 million dollars. I see both sides. Sucks that 3stacks is in a position in his life so complicated on his psyche and soul.
My ex and I stopped at a restaurant in Atlanta, that ended up being vegan, and Andre came walking in. I was star-struck and he was so cool and took a picture with me. He ended up sitting at a table right by us and I could overhear him talking to his manager about this exact type of stuff. He literally said that he "didn't think he could compete with today's cats releasing a song a week..." I wanted to walk up to him so badly when we were leaving and tell him most everyone else is competing with him and that he's a legend. But, I didn't want to bother him in his space. I still wish I would have said something.
I wish you would have said something too. We don’t need a song every week. We, people who appreciate GOOD MUSIC, need music that will stand the test of time & if that means an album every 5 years so be it! This is why artists from 30-40 years ago can still perform their greatest hits.

When I thought of that $40 million being missed out on due to his diagnosed social anxiety I initially thought how could he not have performed? But grasping a better understanding of his condition it sounds as if it’s similar to an athlete having a pulled hamstring and not able to run while people on the sideline who don’t understand what a pulled hamstring feels like thinking that the athlete isn’t trying hard enough to run.
@@mobetta2092 yeah pretty much! i have diagnosed generalised & social anxiety disorder and in my country my condition is even considered a handicap. i have a very hard time in any social situation, speaking or leaving my house, if i push myself a little too much i start to faint, so i can’t even apply for a job & live normally. i rely on the government that sends me money every month and care givers to help me out. so i can’t imagine going on tour in front of thousands of people every night.. it’s sad because i bet he would have wanted to do it, a lot of times i’m frustrated at myself and feel like a loser for feeling this way and not be able to do normal things but i can’t imagine whats its like with 40 million dollars on the line 😬

People don’t understand… & more importantly they don’t care to understand. I’ve had social anxiety all of my life & was able to “suppress” it as much as I could to maintain a stable life. Currently I’m at the height of it & it’s debilitating, I haven’t been able to do the social things I need to do to move forward. Uneducated people assume I’m just anti-social but that’s far from it, & I’ve lost two of my only friends due to not understanding. Ironically enough 3k & I have the same name & our birthdays are 9 days apart. I love that connection, & I wholeheartedly understand what he’s going through. 🙂🦾

Which means 1) people are getting better at recognizing and seeking help for it, 2) doctors are recognizing it sooner, and last but certainly not least 3) more people are faking and taking advantage of accommodations being provided for if.

I'm 52 on Feb 27th. As an introvert (the accepted way of saying "social anxiety"), I would go to family gatherings & work functions because it was expected. Sometimes, being a team player means making others feel comfortable in spite of your own valid psychological struggles. Andre, as much genius talent that you have, take care of your mental health. Don't sacrifice it just because others don't understand that money doesn't always equate to success in life.

Social anxiety and anxiety in general is the hardest thing to explain to someone who doesn’t deal with it. I tend to be just fine socially once I’m in the social environment but building up to it I have such dread. But I have just general anxiety issues. I don’t get it either, it’s more anxiousness. When there’s something unanswered or you’re waiting on it just makes me feel on edge. Nothing can really cure it but there are things that can reduce it if you work at it. Just have to get out of your comfort zone and try different things and your mind and body will adapt to it. We have to train our minds to think with optimism and not pessimism

For 2, he said it in his interview that he felt like ppl would Judge him for being awkward & I’m clearly saying “we love you and your awkwardness” because HE refer to himself as being awkward. I met him once on accident in Dallas. I was picking up my mom from DFW in the mid 2000s and she said Erikah Badu was at baggage claim. Heard she was down to earth so I went inside to see and didn’t even notice Andre next to her until I got close. He was so laid back, he was almost invisible. Badu was lively but homie barely said a word. They were both cool ass people tho and I gave them space before drawing too much attention.

I think it may be deeper than social anxiety. I think Andre 3000 is probably a full blown empath, and thus the hypersensitivity to crowds and the social anxiety as symptoms of this disposition. Empaths are often highly creative, a bit peculiar and even very spiritual, and all in all they have tremendous gifts. Some of them are even seers and prophets. The downside is they isolate to self preserve. It’s not even about desire more than it is about survival. The overwhelm of the world can be just too much on their nervous system and peo😢ple usually won’t get it unless they are also empaths or partners with one so rather than to keep explaining they withdraw. Back to them having tremendous gifts: the key is, empaths have to work hard to ground themselves in a world that is very desensitized, materialistic, and anti-empathetic and ultimately take this vulnerable disposition and use it in service of something magnificent. It’s apart of the spiritual path of the empath to go through a process where they can use their gifts for the greater good of humanity and not hide. When they do this, they become some of the most powerful people on the planet. Blessings on Andre, his tender soul and his legacy. ❤

People don’t understand… & more importantly they don’t care to understand. I’ve had social anxiety all of my life & was able to “suppress” it as much as I could to maintain a stable life. Currently I’m at the height of it & it’s debilitating, I haven’t been able to do the social things I need to do to move forward. Uneducated people assume I’m just anti-social but that’s far from it, & I’ve lost two of my only friends due to not understanding.
Ironically enough 3k & I have the same name & our birthdays are 9 days apart. I love that connection, & I wholeheartedly understand what he’s going through. 🙂🦾

The diagnoses increase every year. Social anxiety is social anxiety. Not labeling it 20 years ago doesn’t mean it didn’t exist at the same prevalence.
Which means 1) people are getting better at recognizing and seeking help for it, 2) doctors are recognizing it sooner, and last but certainly not least 3) more people are faking and taking advantage of accommodations being provided for if.

I'm 52 on Feb 27th. As an introvert (the accepted way of saying "social anxiety"), I would go to family gatherings & work functions because it was expected. Sometimes, being a team player means making others feel comfortable in spite of your own valid psychological struggles. Andre, as much genius talent that you have, take care of your mental health. Don't sacrifice it just because others don't understand that money doesn't always equate to success in life.

Social anxiety and anxiety in general is the hardest thing to explain to someone who doesn’t deal with it. I tend to be just fine socially once I’m in the social environment but building up to it I have such dread. But I have just general anxiety issues. I don’t get it either, it’s more anxiousness. When there’s something unanswered or you’re waiting on it just makes me feel on edge. Nothing can really cure it but there are things that can reduce it if you work at it. Just have to get out of your comfort zone and try different things and your mind and body will adapt to it. We have to train our minds to think with optimism and not pessimism

For 2, he said it in his interview that he felt like ppl would Judge him for being awkward & I’m clearly saying “we love you and your awkwardness” because HE refer to himself as being awkward. I know he suffers from social anxiety and depression. I’m not making fun at his illness-I’m letting him now that WE LIVE EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM INCLUDING HIM FEELING LIKE HES AWKWARD AS WELL AS HIS MENTAL ILNESS. I think it may be deeper than social anxiety. I think Andre 3000 is probably a full blown empath, and thus the hypersensitivity to crowds and the social anxiety as symptoms of this disposition. Empaths are often highly creative, a bit peculiar and even very spiritual, and all in all they have tremendous gifts. Some of them are even seers and prophets. The downside is they isolate to self preserve. It’s not even about desire more than it is about survival. The overwhelm of the world can be just too much on their nervous system and peo😢ple usually won’t get it unless they are also empaths or partners with one so rather than to keep explaining they withdraw. Back to them having tremendous gifts: the key is, empaths have to work hard to ground themselves in a world that is very desensitized, materialistic, and anti-empathetic and ultimately take this vulnerable disposition and use it in service of something magnificent. It’s apart of the spiritual path of the empath to go through a process where they can use their gifts for the greater good of humanity and not hide. When they do this, they become some of the most powerful people on the planet. Blessings on Andre, his tender soul and his legacy. ❤
