    Notice how there’s almost no difference in Ferguson’s mood in these interviews between winning 8-2 and losing 6-1, that’s because this is just one game, championships don’t just hinge on one game it’s about the whole season.

      United didnt lose the title because of that one game. It was a handful of games.

    When I was younger I used to hate Man Utd under him. Looking back I can see how utterly stupid I was. He truly is the greatest football manager of all time, just an altogether class act. The game sure is missing someone like Sir Alex today.

    As an Arsenal fan I remember watching this live in a pub in Fulham with a fellow Gooner and barely making it to the end...
    Alex Ferguson was an all time great, perhaps the all time great in English domestic football, and years later, this interview reminds me of the unimpeachable class of the man.

    1:26 "We're in a terribly cynical world now." Imagine he was managing in these days now. The level of cynicism from media and fans is way, waaaay worse now. Fergie in the modern day would be like Mourinho. I don't think he'd have the patience to be dealing with all the silliness.

    When Ferguson praised you as a manager you were no longer a threat to him. When arsenal were in their prime Ferguson could not stand wegner and would publicly criticise him. After 06 he was just nice to wegner because he knew he was no longer a threat

    Sir Alex always gave his team a warning during a win. Whenever they lost he would defend the hell out of them in the press but after a win, especially a good win, that is when he would say something he wasnt pleased with to keep them on their toes. Management at its finest.

    Beating Arsenal 8-2 with Anderson and Cleverley in central midfield was a quality achievement.
    The previous season, they beat Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup with Fabio, O’Shea, Gibson and Rafael in midfield.
