Notice how there’s almost no difference in Ferguson’s mood in these interviews between winning 8-2 and losing 6-1, that’s because this is just one game, championships don’t just hinge on one game it’s about the whole season.
So true
Tell that to all the Liverpool hater's
Except when he lost 6-1 that game was the reason city won on points
@@daudikusinza9433 Liverpool have received just a lite banter calm down dude, theres no one having an agenda against them, so many Liverpool fans make it look like tho
@@blakemelhuish1118 Or the reason city won it was because United lost at home to Wigan, away to Newcastle, drew 1-1 to Newcastle etc.
United didnt lose the title because of that one game. It was a handful of games.

Did arsenal get a red card?
Notice the amount of respect he still has for Arsene Wenger
he knew what Wenger was up against, and knew the team that got fielded that day he would have struggled with too.

As an Arsenal fan I remember watching this live in a pub in Fulham with a fellow Gooner and barely making it to the end...
Alex Ferguson was an all time great, perhaps the all time great in English domestic football, and years later, this interview reminds me of the unimpeachable class of the man.
1:26 "We're in a terribly cynical world now." Imagine he was managing in these days now. The level of cynicism from media and fans is way, waaaay worse now. Fergie in the modern day would be like Mourinho. I don't think he'd have the patience to be dealing with all the silliness.
Yes this is so true and Alex could see it coming. Even with ole now he’s not had a great start and people are calling for his head after getting 3rd the year before. It’s a sad old world
He wouldn't have put up with it, period. SAF always kept reporters and journalists in line, and if they stepped the slightest bit out of line, they were banned from future press conferences.
Fergie is a different level to Mourinho. Far more mature and mentally strong.
Blame Twitter
So much of respect for rival managers especially the likes of Wenger. Class as always SAF, pure class
How I wish Solskajaer would learn from Sir Alex on how to balance between excitement and dismay in interviews, you could feel he maintained his cool even after winning 8-2.
As an Arsenal fan I have an equal amount of respect for Sir Alex as Wenger, absolute class managers.
True United fans have a lot of respect for Wenger.Absolute legend.
Classy and respectful even after an 8-2 demolition. The great Sir Alex
Thank you sky for recommending me this 1 year later.
Cant wait to watch this again next year!
When Ferguson praised you as a manager you were no longer a threat to him. When arsenal were in their prime Ferguson could not stand wegner and would publicly criticise him. After 06 he was just nice to wegner because he knew he was no longer a threat

Wow Anazing ❤️ I first supported United watching them play Arsenal when I like 7 all my family supported Arsenal. I loved the Red Jersey still support them over 20 years later GGMU
love how humble he sounds and respect, just a normal game.
Notice how when fergie no longer viewed Arsene as a rival or a challenge, he talks nothing but respect for him.
Old people are like peaches or pears, they grow sweet a little before they begin to decay
probably the 2 best managers we've seen in the premier league, definitely the most entertaining and the respect they had for each other was admiral
I was fortunate enough to witness that game at Old Trafford. What a day that was.

Manager
@@SeanEnglishHD Head Coach and manager can mean the same thing
He was a managerial coaching directing manager
Sir Alex always gave his team a warning during a win. Whenever they lost he would defend the hell out of them in the press but after a win, especially a good win, that is when he would say something he wasnt pleased with to keep them on their toes. Management at its finest.
Should we mention your timing?
Pure class !
"We should win these games" i miss this type of mentality
Yaaaaay love you Sir Alex xx
Beating Arsenal 8-2 with Anderson and Cleverley in central midfield was a quality achievement.
The previous season, they beat Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup with Fabio, O’Shea, Gibson and Rafael in midfield.
tbh man utd's team was quite weak as well!
Rooney [Welbeck]
Young [Anderson Cleverly] Nani
Evra [Evans Jones Smalling]
Degea
the players in brackets (6 players) are never world class players
Nani and Young were patchy players as well (1-2 world class seasons followed by many medicore seasons)
Only Rooney, Evra and Degea were world class
The great old days...😢
I miss this guy so much 😭

Those were the days. 😢
The amount of respect sir alex had for wenger is just beautiful
People say that after 2006 he was nice to Wenger because he was no longer a threat
Truly recognised that in the face of football media and criticism, he and Wenger as people were more similar than they were different.
As an United fan, I feel Wenger would have done the same respect to Sir Alex as well.
8-2 the good old days

As a Saints fan I would’ve been delighted with an 8-2 defeat. I’m still in shock how we lost 9-0 twice.
