First and foremost, I would like to thank you for teaching me to fly tie. I just recently got into fly fishing and I cannot decide which part I like more: the actual fishing part, or the tying the flies part! Thanks to you, the only fish I've ever caught via fly fishing have been on flies that I've tied myself. I am not sure if you take requests or not, but if you do, in the future would you please consider an instructional video for a crayfish pattern? Again, thanks for your help!

Steven Happel I've already done one. czcams.com/video/g96iNwPrf6E/video.html
It's a little different but works like a charm.

Now that is a pattern I can get behind. I would use sow/scud dub for some and spike squirrel for others. That stuff is really nice and buggy and would represent legs marvelously. I love your video's too, I wish I could put a face with that voice. I may meet you somewhere along the line if you are speaking when we pass. You have a great voice for videos. I frankly sound like a frog on video. If I ever produce any I am sure you folks would rather hear music. I have been told I sound like Wolfman Jack. Now that is dating myself. He's been off the air for a long time. Two generations at least. All the best to you and yours, and God bless. Sean

A very nice pattern, I have learned a lot of patterns from the US with you....I was thinking, would it be good if you organised some of your videos into playlists? Food for thought, and keep the videos coming!

Tom Keene Orvis has already done it for us. All of our videos are embedded and organized in the fly tying section of the Orvis Learning Center. Included are recipes for each pattern and transcripts of the narration.

I’ve definitely got to make some of these. I’ve got a ton of mallard flank. Only thing is I’m not sure what dubbing I have that would match a scud well.

This is brilliant. I have a big Zip loc full of Wood Duck and fish around here are going to see it now. Thanks a lot for this pattern. In addition I found that I am really allergic to the UV stuff and can't use it. Using regular head cement will work fine. Thanks again. We fish a lot of stillwater, do you like long leaders with these or indicator?

Tim, your videos are pretty much solely responsible for me developing into a decent tier. Thank you for sharing this knowledge...it's so helpful and well done. One question: All my wood duck feathers seem to have black and white tips on any part of the feather that is long enough to tie this size 16 scud pattern. I don't like the look of the black and white for the antennae. Do they sell wood duck feathers that have less of the black and white on the tips? Thanks! Craig

I really enjoy watching your videos and am getting into fly tying myself. I live on the east coast as well so I can relate easily. However I was wondering where you get your fly tying materials?

Thomas Mann eBay and fishUSA are great. Check your local shop first, but you're gonna want to look online for sure.
