Government Servants, additionally, cannot hold any office of profits. On the flip, running ads on their videos and posts allow them to earn “real” money which is violation of their bond with the government.

People started knowing her more and admired her presence over a Social Media. I remember there used to be so many status/shorts about IAS (especially their mock interviews) where Tina Dabi was shown, and hence she got famous in Social Media too, and later on other IAS officers too.

Trend could be controversial as well.
People were interested and more extent admired Tina, hence after social media was introduced people started following her. And yes the shorts/reels we see on YT/IG about IAS mock interviews also gave IAS officers a limelight especially I started following IAS Shrushti Deshmukh Gowda after watching her in Shorts of YT.
So that's how people get's popular and set any trend.
Also, last but least....IAS Tina is senior to IFS Aishwarya Sheron so Tina got famous before Aishwarya. The trend setting is more like how much limelight and popularity one get and others starts following the footsteps. Tina got famous by Mainstream Media than Social Media, but nonetheless she has a decent social media following plus people share her quotes as well.

    1. I am not of the view that only newer civil servants are crazy for social media presence .... Civil servants of all age and cadre are on Twitter and actively put their views on SM....
    2. Some civil servants use SM as just a medium for awareness for public . Eg P Narahari IAS MP , manuj Jindal IAS for guidance in cse exams etc
    3. Some civil servants are active because they want to convey their views on prevalent issues of society ... And hence participate in the discussion
    4. Some civil servants use SM to gain popularity because (my view 😊) their job profile is not matching the ambition they started for ....

It's simple, I would recommend Government should ban Social Media usage for all Government officials.
Look at military, we don't find almost none Military personnel on social media. We don't find DRDO or ISRO scientists on Social meida sharing "Hello friends aaj maine ye technology develop ke ya hm is secret project pr kam kr rahe hai"
I know bhot logo ke jalegi ye sunkr pr kya kre thoda toh sulgana jruri hai 😏😌

Aai bhi government offices me kaam karwana ya kisi IAS se problem ke liye time milna muskil hai.
Aur jab milte bhi hai to Camera ke saath
Jo officers kaam karte hai wo social media par nahi dekhte

IAS officers are Doctors first, Engineers first, Lawyers first, CAs first, Arts & other degree holders first, young human beings first and then OFFICERS. They are bound to be active on social media unlike Chai wala to PM.

Civil servants should use their official accounts for their official use, the name of the handle should be their designation and not in their own names. For personal affairs, they should use personal social media accounts. Personal accounts should not contain any official content. Official social media account should also be owned and moderated by their office. This way, they cannot have any control on their official account after they retire or resign. The same is being followed for Prime Minister, Mr Modi is having personal account and another account for PMO.

If a person is following his passion then what's the problem, they the living a life created by their hard work and IAS officers are not any government or people's robot who had to work according to only them. Fine it should be forbidden if they are using social during their working time, they can use or active on social media in their holidays, weekends. They are also human, they should😊

People who can never crack UPSC and become IAS/IPS criticise them because of jealousy. They would all use social media if they become IAS/IPS. I don't have any problem with IAS/IPS officers using social media if they aren't doing any harm to the country.

The basic point: Unki marzi. Wo bhi insaan hai, wo bhi Bharat ke citizen hai, unko bhi azadi hai Social media chalane ki.
Aur ye kaha likha hai ki personal branding is wrong? Starting a new political party is wrong? Having a backup career is better. Fulfilling dreams of being an actor or a celebrity is one of the best feeling and these officers have 100% right to live that.
