I have always loved Church's chicken! Eaten there at several different locations around the south. I had no idea they had renamed themselves. The one near us, shut down about 3 years ago.
Many of their international locations have always been called Church’s Texas Chicken. I read online they were rebranding and Church’s got a new middle name.
We enjoyed eating at Church’s. Very tasty!
@vafunseekers I've always loved KFC, but occasionally, you will get a dry piece of white meat at KFC. Especially the breast. Church's has always been very moist and juicy, even the white meat. I wish we had one closer to us now.

Glad you finally got to try Church's Chicken. I'm also glad that you liked it. Agreed on the spicy. But, it's also good! I have to admit that I've never had their chicken tenders. My ex-wife forced those on our daughter so many times from so many different places when she was a kid that I still can't bear to look at them! Enjoy your trip! God Bless!

Definitely reasonably priced and delicious food. Plus it was quick too! That storm was something else. The following night the storm was even worse. They don’t typically last long. We thought it was unbelievable that the phone grip was still on the hood/windshield! Appreciate you watching!

Thanks for this video. I have eaten at a Church's Chicken a long time ago, I am guessing it might be the same as Church's Texas Chicken. Your food looked really good and fresh. The biscuits and mashed potatoes looked great as well. Glad you enjoyed it and that you (mostly) stayed dry. Loved the bonus footage also.

It's hard to beat KFC's cole slaw for fast food style cole slaw, but y'all seem to have very similar tastes and preferences to what we also like and it sounds like we will be traveling to a Church's chicken really soon. We didn't realize until watching your video that they've rebranded to add Texas into their name now. That's really neat. Apparently Church’s has used “Texas” in its name internationally for years. So now they are rebranding in the United States. David really liked the coleslaw. Look forward to seeing how y’all like it.
It was wild that the camera grip stayed on the vehicle so long. It was probably about 20 minutes or so before we saw it.

Church's Chicken is all over town here in San Antonio. Pretty good. My real choice, however, is KFC Original Recipe, with a side of mashed potatoes and a biscuit. Your little family is awesome. God bless you guys. ❤
I don't think you can go wrong with KFC. I have eaten that my entire life. David liked the mashed potatoes and gravy better at Church's but I believe I prefer KFC. They both are very tasty! I love trying regional places. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
Wow this place looked like it had some righteous chicken. Not only did the chicken look moist and tender,it seemed like generous portions. David seemed exceptionally pleased with the Cole slaw and mashed taters and gravy. Cindy this is one of my fast food bucket lists to try along with Culvers, Freddie's and Jollibee chicken. All within about an hours drive in Ohio. I think a road trip maybe in my future! Nice to see Carly was in all your videos since schools let out. She adds that little special something . Me and my wife can tell how you and David have done such a great job as parents 😊 I'm glad you guys survived that storm, the wind and rain looked very aggressive! Church’s Texas Chicken definitely has good chicken and sides. You are right about David loving the coleslaw here. Everything was tasty and served hot.
We always miss Carly if she is not with us. Appreciate you saying how much she adds to the videos. She loved hearing that. We try our best to raise her in a Christian home. I told her the other day that she has already made the most important decision of her life (accepting Christ).
We had another big storm last night in St Augustine. Carly loves weather. So she enjoyed getting some footage.

Fantastic video! All the food looked great - wish that chicken place was in my town. I could see storm clouds at the beginning of the video and sure enough the heavy rain came. We had a tornado warning in NW IL. about a week ago and I was never so scared in my life. 😨
We wish we had a Church’s Texas Chicken in our town too. Everything was delicious and served hot. Will definitely go back to a Church’s.
We had to do the closing quick and short. The storm was definitely on its way. We actually had an even bigger storm the next night in St. Augustine, Fl.

Amen! God is good! If we only knew how often he protects us we would probably be surprised. We had 2 rocks to fly off a truck and hit our windshield. It left a crack and a little star on the window. Called to report it to our insurance company and there is no deductible. Another blessing. Having a great time! God Bless!
Enjoyed this review thoroughly. Church's became our go-to place in Phoenix in the early 70s. (Only KFC & Church's existed, and no fried chicken in grocery stores.) KFC didn't have "extra crispy" at the time, so Church's was quite different! More like home cooked.
I haven't had Church's since moving up north, so I've never tried the spicy or their sides since Popeye's bought them out in the 90's - but they're building a Church's in our town now so I'll give them a try again. 😊

We have KFC, Popeyes, and Bojangles in our area. Plus gas stations and grocery stores that have fried chicken. The spicy at Church’s was really good. It was spicy but still had a great taste. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

We visit Pooler often. Living in NC we travel to Florida a lot. Next time you guys are in Pooler try Carery Hillard Restaurant. Great seafood and chicken. Safe travels to Florida.

What a spectacular video I’ll definitely be going to chuch’s chicken to try them out the food looked phenomenal love when restaurants are so nice and polite letting you get the chicken with the pieces that you prefer like how you got legs and a thigh. Their biscuits look phenomenal!! Love when restaurants have delicious biscuits. Definitely a major improvement from other places that I’ve had unpleasant experiences from other restaurants biscuits

@@vafunseekers I went to church’s yesterday and it is now my favorite place to get chicken from their biscuits are phenomenal so moist and buttery absolutely the gold standard biscuits should be and I loved their mashed potatoes and gravy and I got a sweet tea I always like to get sweet tea from restaurants when they offer it

Now that is some good looking food right there, the tenders, mashed potatoes and biscuits look like my cup of tea, or my cup of gravy for that matter lol. I knew you would like the tender meal. The spicy tenders had lots a flavor and some heat. I would love for you to try one of the biscuits. All 3 of us were big fans of Church’s Texas Chicken. So glad we got to try it. We need one in Lynchburg. We will see what other delicious places we can find on this trip.

Another restaurant I’ve never heard of. The chicken really looked good. But I had to take notice to the fact that they seem to key in on legs and thighs, neither of which I eat. My question is do they serve a good old fashioned chicken breast, not tenders? If they do, bet it’s good!! Another interesting video, especially the rain footage. Enjoy your trip.
They do serve chicken breasts. I was going to mention that in the closing but as you could see we had to do a quick closing. I thought it was strange that they did not have chicken breast listed on the main menu. I’m sure they are delicious.

Church Texas chicken tried opening up locations around Philadelphia and New Jersey but the locations didn't make it I think the closest location now is Washington DC or maybe down in Virginia
We really enjoyed the chicken and sides. But the biscuit was outstanding, in my opinion. It's hard for businesses to make it, especially if you don't get the right staff working for you. That's one thing we really notice when we are traveling. We notice how many employees they have working and the friendliness/attitudes of the employees.
If you go into restaurant/businesses and you see employees more concerned with talking with each other or other friends than taking care of customers, that is an issue. Sometimes I wonder about how the employees are trained too. When I go in to a Chick-Fil-A, I know I am going to hear "it is my pleasure". They definitely know how to let employees know their expectations and train them how to interact with customers. God Bless!

Y’all should try Raising Canes! Maybe you have I don’t know though.
I was disappointed at Cane's. The breading was very light and the French fries weren't cooked enough. This was at their Glen Allen location in Virginia.
