- Israeli forces recently concluded a two-day raid in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, carrying out airstrikes and sending in roughly 1,000 troops, marking the most substantial incursion into the West Bank in two decades. Israel's government says it was conducting a counter-terrorism operation, but observers say that it’s deliberately intensifying an already exceedingly violent year. Former Israeli soldier Avner Gvaryahu tells Ali Velshi that the operation in Jenin is based on a “distorted concept of security” and a zero sum game. “[It’s] based on the assumption that in order for the Israeli citizens living in the occupied West Bank illegally under international law to feel secure, basically Palestinians have to feel insecure.”

I'm not Palestinian, so I, obviously, can't speak from that perspective. But, I think your work in fighting for the very people you once victimized is necessary. Please don't ever stop speaking the truth about what's being done to Palestinians.
The western media never ever speaks about the brutality of Israelis toward Palestinians for over 75 years or the murders of thousands of Palestinian people and their small children. I find it very strange that in the same breath the reporter would say it is an occupation and then say it/Israel needs to be secured. Isn't that an oxymoron or contradiction? Wouldn't the occupied by definition need to be secured? I'm confused. I mean as far as I know and according to law I have a right to defend my home if someone breaks in. I don't understand how everyone is so scared to call things as they really are. Not to mention how everyone or sooo many can say Israel has the right to defend itself but deny Palestinians the same right. And in what world is killing more then 11,000 innocent civilians including children considered self-defense?
