*signs an autograph and chucks it into a talking bin*
"What are we doing here?"
Nope. No idea.
Cursed Bins really get worked up over autographs, as it turns out
He's signing Barry's thigh
QUINNS (presumably): "Matt, this is the second expansion of a mostly abstract game which we've reviewed before, how are you going to pad this out to a full-length video?"
MATT: "I've got... some ideas..."
That's Azul-wang! Let's rotate the board!
This video is far less likely to star a future Oscar winner than the original.
In the American spin off it's just "That's Azul!"

One. One. Oooone. One! One.
"Technically Difficult"
Amazing.
Matt is incredibly funny on his own; his unhinged type of humor resonates wonderfully well with itself
Resonates like a struck bin.
In absolute awe of the tiny physical joke at 2:11 where he moves closer to the board for a better look with his whole body. It's so understated an well timed and I rewound to laugh at it again four times. It's a move Chaplin would have been proud of
They really dropped the ball with Azul: Sword and Shield.
They were like "this one has all of the tiles!" and then blatantly left out Waluigi
I found Azul: Black and White really difficult.
I’m a genwunner. I love the original Azul: Blue. Because Azul literally means Blue in Spanish.
Mistake at 2:53: When placing tiles in the center section, if you want to place a tile on position #3, you need 3 of the same color (or combined with wilds). You can not simply take use 3 of any color, place one, and throw the other two away.
I was about to check the rules to make sure we hadn't been playing it wrong. Yeah, this.
5:18 "So what are we doing here?" I burst out laughing.
Can't wait for Dark (A)zul II : Scholar of The First Bin DLC!
RIP in pieces big bin Barry. He didn't do anything to deserve Matt's repressed rage towards Bin-kind, he was just a passionate and apologetic fan.
And cursed
I don't play board games really, I just watch for his performances, thats true.
Big Bin Barry is my new spirit animal. Strong, resilient, but humble. 3B, you da man.
Wait, Barry Bin dies?!
Matt took him out to the curb and left him there.
Ah, Treasure Trove Cove. My favourite level from Banjo-Kazooie.
Can't wait for Azul 7: Zulander
Azul 8: Zul of Rock
Never stop making reviews, and please please please more podcasts!
+20 points for the Grange Hill music that about 2% of your viewers will recognise :)
Stephen Ball 🇬🇧
I smiled and was like, "that ones just for the Brits" 😄
Definitely my favorite of the three. It feels like a much more in-line progression of design from the first one compared to Staines Glass; like this is what the second Azul should have been. The only things I don't like about it is the scoring markers and small amount space for the markers. For such a colorful game, the markers are drab both in color and design and they are fiddly to move when clumped together.
Great sound effects and gags, loving all the reviews recently!
(5:49) Wait! You mean, just because there are 76+ Pokemon games, people don't have to catch 'em all? 😂
That missing piece Vietnam flashback is how I'll think of every lost meeple from now on.
LOVE YOU GUYS! Keep making reviews and plllleeeeaaaaase more podcasts!
I fuckin love you guys! I've been bingeing these vids and I can confirm, I'd watch them even if I didn't game. Excellent production quality with a whimsical Pythonesque intelligent knuckle-headery, I love it. keep makin'em, and I'll keep watchin'em.
That lost tile... I have no words.
5:19 my exact thoughts every time Shut Up & Sit Down do one of their insane sketches in the middle of a review.
Wonderful review, I thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you. You’re guys have always been great but just recently you’ve turned it up to 11 and I’m loving it! Thank you.
Love the Banjo Kazooie Music at the intro :)
It's amazing how entertaining these are. Even games I'd never be particularly interested in I'll watch the video 3 times Haha
Matt, sitting beside a talking (and cursed) bin, stares straight at the camera: "So what are we doing here?"
Some nice existential dread from SU&SD.
RIP, Big Bin Barry. He was taken from us too soon, having choked to death on an autograph.
This review was a real hoot, I laughed my arse off. Thank you, Matt Lees!
Loved Zim Bigbamboy’s cameo as the cursed bin!
2:40 when you hit your elbow in the funny spot
1:05 Do my ears perceive Zelda Fairy Fountain music here?
That's Azulwang! That's great...I love that show. "Are we the baddies?"
This was amazing, well done guys.
This was my Azul, I decided last week, so I added it to my order of War of Whispers. Using this fail-proof oracular technique, I can say your next review will definitely be Planet Apocalypse.
Nice treasure trove cove intro. Banjo Kazooie for life.
Matt is killing it in this one. I'm in stitches.
"Clever clogs ", nice subtle pathologic reference
I’ve played all three Azuls, but Summer Pavilion is the best of the three by far. It’s outstanding.
Thanks ! I think that I'll buy this Azul version, Sommer Pavilion, too!
Every SU:SD review has those scenes I rewatch three times...
This time it’s definitely at 2:11
Had a laugh. A big one.
I actually find Sintra to be the most strategically satisfying of all 3 games! So i think it’s cannon 😂
same here.
this is very strange artifact for the time immediately before no more summers
*opens with Banjo Kazooie music*
Alright, I'll buy the board game thanks for the review.
I will call summer pavilion
Azul 2: Electric Boogaloo
Thought you'd sneak some zelda fairy fountain music past me eh? Not so fast.
Also Banjo Kazooie right at the start. I think writing a Pokémon reference into the script triggered some kind of N64 soundtrack explosion.
I only made it a minute or so through the video before scrolling down to see if anyone else was as distracted as I by the Zelda music.
You taught the center tile placement _wrong_ - you still need a set of tiles of the *same* colour (plus any wild colour tiles), but each of the six must have a different colour.
Tor Iver Wilhelmsen I was questioning my sanity for a hot minute when he taught it that way.
Since my copy is lent to a gaming cafe I had to check the rules online just to be sure I was remembering correctly.
I don't know if they are right. The placement rules a vague.
wait, you need a set of tiles of the same color but they need to have a different color?
@@z-beeblebrox He means the main ones round the outside need to be the same but the ones in the centre need to be different. Wilds can be used for the outside but not the inside, as Matt incorrectly said.
Big Bin Berry: Officially the best member of the SU&SD team.
Rust in Peace, Barry
Huh, I really expected something to happen with Matt giving a cursed object his signature...
Please, we shant speak ill of the dead.
OMG I LOVED the Numberwang reference lmao
Sean Hoke that’s Numberwang!
@@paulgibson193 let's rotate the board!
I love both Azul and Azul III, and I especially enjoy the looks of disbelief when I whip them out at board game meetups. The disbelief always turns into amazement once they realize how good both games are.
Azul and summer pavilion create good duo of games. Azul is the light and fast fun where summer pavilion is more "thinky" and slower.
Sorry, but my Azul is Azul: Strange Canon of Sintra. I feel this is like saying my favorite bit of Quinns in a review is him talking about birds facts in the wingspan review... But i'll stick with it.
That was a good review, but definitely not canon.
Oh you're a prophet now.
My personal favorite has always been Azul in Space
This looks like an ideal stim game, honestly.
but matt part of what i like about azul is how simple it is, this doesnt look simple at all
3rd Gen Azul is definitely the best.
Nothing can beat Azul Ruby and Sapphire.
Though the upcoming Azul Diamond and Pearl are shaping up to be really great too.
Glad I watched this. Despite having owned the game for a few months now, I missed that you lose points equal to the number of tiles taken from the centre.
I like the video game music background
This just makes me want more Cool Ghosts
love that thumbnail
As someone who really likes Azul but wishes there was a TINY bit more to it, I think this seems like a great fit. Will keep an eye out for it.
0:58 Yes... definitely rupees! Nice touch! Well played... 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽😃
I woke up in the middle of the night from a fever dream and watched this to relax. It made me question whether I really woke up
Was that legend of zelda skyward sword music playing during the section of the discs around minute 1? Felt oddly nostalgic
I'm sure it was used in skyward sword but it's the fairy fountain music they've been using since ALTTP
@@JurorNumber24 cool, skyward sword was the first I played so it kinda stuck with me.
1:17 Did anyone else expect Matt to say "Time to get EXTRAVAGANT"
I've enjoyed this Azul. I feel it reclaimed the simplicity of the original Azul, with a deeper strategic layer added on.
My main complaint is that the score board isn't big enough to fit all the markers on a space if they are bunched up.
That's why you can stack them.
@@merccc1 ah I hadn't considered that approach.
Lovely Great Fairy Fountain music from Zelda I hear there
I loved opening with Treasure Trove Cove from B&K even more!
"technically difficult" LMAO
My son and I were already laughing our asses off 13 seconds in... "Technically Difficult"
10:04 wait WHAT? BIN BARRY'S DEAD!?
be careful when making the tile art though. One wrong move and you'll summon Noel Fielding.
Red! Yellow! Purple! Blue! That's Azulwang!
Is the bin the same actor as the head from Art Attack?
Hey, i wanted to get in touch with you, so i thought this was the best way. You know how the pickle rick game has a thematic box/container, why don't you make a video of the list of board games with the best boxes/containers? Thanks.
12 seconds in and love it already- cheeky homage to banjo kazooie
The images on the pieces are for colorblinds. ;) a nice ergonomic touch!
I wonder what Barry thinks of worms...
I loved this video, but it has also reminded me just how much I need to improve my own video quality.
that Zelda background music tho
Well played
I feel this is really similar to Machi Koro. I feel like mine is Machi Koro Big City, but I enjoy the base/expansions and Legacy so who knows? Also big ups Pokemon Red was mine too. I actually liked the Lets Go remake of it best though for the reworks to the game to stream line it and throwing pokeballs all the live long day.
Is that Treasure Trove Cove music in the beginning??
We need more games with things to do when it's not your turn. Like making million pound artwork
I noticed that bottle of Balvenie off to the side. Your - or someone else's - good taste in whiskey can't sneak past me!
Matt says "azul" in a very funny way. I could watch it for hours
Like if you could also hear the Great Fairy Fountain music in the faintest background.
Now we just have to wait for Kazool, the next expansion
What?!! "In Memoriam"?! But he was so young and so full of life ...
I'm really going to miss Big Bin Barry.
😢
The daftest one yet. Love it.
What summery lighting you have!
hey, at 1:00 there is the fairy fountain music from the legend of zelda
I feel like I learned something other than the rules for this game. Almost as if Matt was using this game as an example for something else... I wonder!
Love the zelda music in the background :)
Damn, knowing the latest Twitter drama puts that bin scene into a special context.
If big bin Barry the part log was born to play
Oooooooooooooooooooooo combos!
Brilliant humor
Superb as always!
