What's Inside the Cruise Ship MSC Meraviglia?

- Today we're doing a tour of the MSC Meraviglia, showing what's amazing and what's not. Normally when I travel I'm going to far flung parts of Africa or Asia. But this week I'm on an actual vacation, on a cruise ship to Mexico with my family. We have not cruised with MSC before, so we really didn't know what to expect. I decided to do a review of the ship while everything was still fresh. Hopefully I can answer the question for you, is it worth taking a cruise on the MSC Meraviglia?
Returned recently from the Meraviglia's September 4th sailing to Bermuda. Wanted to reminisce a little, and there was no better way than to return to this video. John, your camera work, the choice of camera and lens, and your narrative style put the viewer "right there." As a cruise addict for 15 years, I have never been able to get my fix from viewing cruise videos; there was always something detached from the natural visual experience until I saw this video. My only disappointment is that it appears you have not explored another ship in this fashion! Thanks for your efforts in helping us relive a great week.
Thanks for the kind comments. I would love to be able to do more cruise walk-throughs. Unfortunately I only get to cruise once every couple years. Most of my travel is not vacation related. Rest assured, I'll do another one in the future though with a different ship.
Nice video and good representation of the Meraviglia. We were on this ship in December and are going again next month, in March. I was surprised how few people were around, especially in the buffet area! I see lots of reviews complaining how crowded the buffet always is. Maybe it so early in the morning that most were still sleeping? It is a beautiful ship and you've made it show!
Thanks. Yes it was early morning on a sea day when I shot most of the video. On a day when the ship was in port, it would be pretty busy at the buffet first thing as everyone tries to fill up before heading ashore.

Just booked a trip on here in a few months - if you use the pool, training etc are there change options or fo you go back sweaty /wett through the ship to you room?
I know there were bathrooms near the pool area, so that’s an option.
It didn’t seem like there were a lot of people on the ship. Was it ever busy on board?
The ship was actually quite full. Early in the morning though was always quiet, and certain parts of the ship were generally quiet as well.
i just booked a cruise to bermuda on here. i have to find the port from the train station & have bee having trouble finding any info on it. i'm coming down from albany. the ship still looks so new. that's exciting! i'm old, but i'm going to check out that waterslide too! i love waterparks. great tour!

Hi, do I need a covid test o something?
Also the private Island do I need to pay extra to visit?
When I went, there was no covid requirement. They recommend you get the shot, but don't require it. Also, the private island is free, unless you want to buy drinks or take one of the excursions.

Especially for kids, snorkel and mask are good to bring. There's really clear water at Ocean Cay. Good walking shoes also. If you're going to Nassau I'd say set up an excursion, whether it's through the cruise line or not. Also, if there's more than two of you in a cabin, don't overpack.

There's plenty of things for the kids to do on the ship. Make sure you and your wife enjoy time together while you're sailing without the kids.
Do they have the drink trulys hard seltzer

Is this a modern ship
The Meraviglia is about 5 years old.
We are on day 2 on this ship and so far it's been very disappointing. We've yet to have any kind of decent meal, the buffet has been half closed, no lettuce, no tomatoes and I have yet to see a single item with fresh mozzarella. Everything including our room is dirty and worn. In our room 2 days now and still have no washcloths, they haven't picked up any of our glasses and used linens. I wish we never booked this. The customer service from the get go should have warned me away but, here we are, stuck on a dirty old ship, completely under staffed, gross food and 3 days to go still. Don't book on this cruise line or at the very least not this ship.
Well, what to say? Your experience has clearly been very different from ours.
@Wollwerth Imagery upon asking other frequent msc cruisers, we hear that this kind of stuff is also happening to them as well. They say it's very unusual and that this cruise line has experienced a huge staff shortage and some horrible personal losses of a staff member and a cruiser jumped off this ship a few weeks ago and so i get it now. Also, we were finally able to sit down at a dinner service and it was quite delicious and the service so much better today. I guess i was too quick to make an overall assumption about it in total. Anyway, we have today and tomorrow and i plan to enjoy the rest of it.
