Front springs were a right pain as they were too small for me to compress when putting them back in. You will have to do the same job again whenever you decide to go for b8s all round.
Looking good mate, the front springs you can actually wind out of the turret it self without dropping out the front leg on the 1/2 series 👍
I’ve got an M235i now, but on my old 220i I had a right struggle getting the front struts out too they’re well in there 😂 not only that, my rear struts were gone so I got a pair of bilstein ones from autodoc, take ages to come tho lol
with the rear arms make sure to tighten them once the arm is under load (car is lowered and settled) as to not stress the bushing, but nice to see you do your own work its refreshing to see someone actually interested in their own car

How many mm did you actually lower the car (front/rear)?
Eibach-pro is said to lower 20 mm front and 10 mm rear.

12:55 the classic, 'this might rip my face off' stance. 😂 i do all my repairs but never used spring clamps, local garage does it for £20 for me if i just take the strut to them, compress and put new spring on too.

The suspension that you have put on your car is gonna make out of a difference in handling wise riding is going to prove riding comfort as well and it's gonna look out of a lot better it's just gonna make it all round brilliant car and a brilliant handling performance vehicle

Extra coils make springs softer not stiffer. Just different materials and thicknesses.

He juts installed coilovers? As for struts, bmw Msport struts arguably the best you can get for it, next to msport adoptive suspension of course.

It already has the same callipers at the m3 mate it’s the discs that are different

Hey mate! It was pretty stiff, but handling wise, i thought it was quite good! Is it comfort you didn't like about stock suspension or handling? 🤔
@@TheOtherStuff For normal quick driving in the coutryside road its fine, but when you start to push the car more on road or even the track its starts to hold you back a lot - thats what I ment. When you will put different coilovers on it will be a totally different car! But for comfort/sportyness the stock is fine.
Next time undo the top mount then drop the strut under the arch no need to compress springs
The reason i think it broke was because you used the impact gun to undo the bolt.

5:29 Michael as an amateur mechanic you need to learn very quick to never fully trust jacks... you would be dead if it slipped or decompressed, which happens more often than you think 😮

Maybe a little more description and detail on installing the front springs
Lowering springs on a M240i? Really? Buy some decent coilovers before half of the suspension shits itself from the springs... In few months time you will be replacing all shocks rather than just one.
with the amount of repairs you've done to all your cars, You might as well just become a Mechanic, I've always been told that the Shock observers are the biggest pains in the ass, But you did it without any hassle.
