      DAR is dielectric absorption ratio, usually the reading at 1 minute divided by the reading at 30 seconds. PI is polarisation index, which is the 10 minute reading divided by the 1 minute reading. They are ratios designed to assess winding insulation condition, and are not temperature dependent like the insulation value is.

      @@GraditelMacedonia I did this video to show the basic operation of the tester based upon a question I received on another video and wanted to keep it relatively short. If I had done this as a maintenance test, then I would have tested for 1 minute, but this is a small random wound motor and the DAR and PI ratios are both 1, so it would not have been a good demonstration for those ratio tests.
